Just catched Groundhog Day here on TV in my country .. and I'm wondering.. is there any more movies with this 'repeating the same day' theme? Not as good as Groundhog Day for sure.. but gimme some suggestions.
I love time travel movies .. and this theme is sort of time travel ..

Not a movie but The X Files - Monday. Such an original kino series. (Fringe is consistently good but not as great as The X Files' best, and too much JJ Abrams floating text bullshit)

Fucking kino af movie forgotten because humanity is mostly uncultured brainlets. If you have kids, raise them right, you fucking mindless horny rats. Better and ethical to not even have kids. Get on my level.
Jordan Torres
Never seen that pic, pretty funny. I must say, I fucking love revolvers. Arguably the sexiest man made thing of all time.

Here's one for you: "12:01pm", with the actor who played the lead bad guy in Robocop. It is a 40 minute long short film. It was also the direct inspiration for groundhog day. Do not watch the 1h30 made for television heap of shit film that was released some years later.
I remember it being slightly longer and with a few different cuts. Perhaps there is another version.

I would be stuck in that loop until the omniscient syncretic AI entity thing decided to finally say "fuck it" and proactively end things. Fuck homework. I laugh at younger relatives that have to do that shit. I laugh in their stupid little faces. and then later cry at how I let my life become so pathetic

There is an Anime series on a similar concept "Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World." except this one loops when the guy dies not when the day ends.
The other thing that makes it different is that little changes he makes end up skewing the entire day around a lot compared to generally everything going the same way over and over again.
Still a fun show.
Brody Ortiz
Does his entire new life loop? Or just the past 24hrs or something?
Aaron Martinez
I didn't know Groundhog day was a literal and actual rip-off of previous original material... >directed by Harold Ramis and written by Ramis and Danny Rubin. I should have known

Hey man cool with the incel talk we’re all frens here.
Owen Jenkins
yeah, without crediting the original, either.

He's transported to a magical realm after walking out of his local convenience market and everytime he dies he respawns at what he calls a "save point" a recent point in his life before whatever killed him did the deed. There is one point in the story where he defeats a monster and then dies a day later and instead of respawning before the monster fight he respawns after it so the save-point system is a little bit flexible.
I read a book years ago called Replay by Ken Grimwood where this guy kept repeating his life from a certain point up until his death. Was interesting because he found a woman who was doing the same thing(and a third person who was going through it also but was killing people because it was fun). The difference between that story and most others was that he was going from a certain point(I think it was his death at first but it might have been just the date the book was published) and restarting but then on subsequent loops he'd start later on and end the loop earlier so they got progressively shorter and shorter and he'd be experiencing more of his life from the original timeline and have less time to build his empires and make his fortunes. The woman meanwhile was having the same thing happen except she was always resetting to a time AFTER he did so he'd have to wait a few years to catch her again and a few times he came along early, got her to leave her husband and kids and then one day she'd wake up in the loop and find herself with him. The serial killer sub-plot just kind of vanished after a bit and I don't remember if they did anything with it but I remember that the woman managed to make Star Wars like three years early by hiring Lucas and Speilberg right out of film school and getting them funding sooner and that's how the main guy found her then the two of them put full page ads in every major paper in the world with key-words about the future in them to flush out anyone else.
It was a weird book overall.

Basically anything released by Hollywood including remakes. It's like we've all seen these films before.

did he ever just try to stay up for 24 hours? i forget.

I didn't think that movie would make me cry at the end, but it did
Ryder Harris
Yeah I think he ends up blinking and waking up to that clock radio in the morning again anyway. I can't remember if it's at a certain time or when he falls asleep or closes his eyes for a second.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_Break TV show from a few years back called Day Break had the concept of a cop reliving the same day over and over again while trying to unravel a conspiracy which was trying to frame him for murder and corruption. It was actually pretty good and had some nice twists on the idea, one was that his body and trauma were carried over between days so he got shot one day and still had the wound the next day and went to hospital where he was arrested and treated until he woke up the next day with the wound less bad(the healing process seemed acelerated I think) and also when he forced someone to have a profound emotional moment of clarity by getting them to confront something(it was kind of vague) then their personality would slightly shift forever after, they'd still repeat themselves except differently to the original day. So he helped some people and started to change the day a lot while running down leads before his enemies could stop him.
I liked it, it was cancelled after six episodes aired and the last seven episodes didn't get released for ages. Thankfully the season was one and done for the most part.
