Has any show had its quality dropoff harder than True Detective?

No one cares incel

Homeland

Westworld

Season 1 didn't have the balls to end with Rust bursting into the state senate and killing high level paedophiles but other than that it was fine. The series was obviously never envisioned to be more than one season long so it's pretty unfair to call it a drop off, especially since the other seasons are barely related.

Trueblood.

The first episode of The Walking Dead was pretty good, but all of the 130 episodes that came after it are garbage.

but it got good after a while

Season 2 is truly heart breaking for adults. Give it a few years.

I personally couldn’t make it through the first episode

Got

Any show that gets cancelled then picked up by Netflix has a giant drop in quality. Idk why people beg for shows to be picked up when not a single one of them has been successful.

True, it got back on track after s2

Because he plagiarized the story. Now he can't duplicate it.

Plagiarized from what?

The Terror

A book

im glad im not the only one who thinks so

I dont see how since season 2 is the best season and three while not as good as 2 or 1 is still fantastic. Its true detective, not true crime. Its a character study series.

s3 is one of the most disappointing things to exist
but the stir some shit up scene was one of the best things pizza wrote

>s2 better than s1
stop trying to shill this narrative, brainlet. You'll never be taken seriously

>black spiral
oh no no no no

Again. The show is a character study. Season 2 executes it much much better.

Season 2 is the ultimate pleb filter. Literally only ADHD retards with no appreciation for noir dislike it. God forbid a show does something other than retread.

This guy
isn't quite right. It's not the story that plagiarized. Almost all of Rust's cosmic nihilism is taken, some of it paraphrased, some of it almost word for word, from a nonfiction philosophy book called "The Conspiracy Against the Human Race" by horror writer Thomas Ligotti. How ethical this is is questionable. The show isn't really the same medium or form as the book, so it's not really a competitor, it's taking the ideas in the book and putting them in the mouth of a specific character to address them. It's still a little lazy though.

Game of Thrones and True Blood. True Blood may actually still be the reigning champion.

While i'll agree, you'd be really fucking naive to think that wasn't heading straight to shit from the get go.
