I just finished watching eyes wide shut. I just keep asking myself why. I love Stanley Kubrick, and the movie kinda felt like it, but the rest it's just... What the hell? What a fucking ride.
Can someone explain this shit to me? How comes Stanley Kubrick's last film is basically cuck porn?
>Can someone explain this shit to me? Both yourself and society at large have a dark side. You can obsess over it and let it consume you, or you can ignore it, and live a normal life
Joseph Taylor
because kubrick is not only a hack, but a cuck too
Gavin Williams
You mean the wife and society has a dark side? And that either you can obsess over it or ignore it?
Ryan Murphy
I found most of the scenes disgusting, including her, but man, there was something about her.
It was about honesty in relationships. There was the upfront relationship of Tom and Nicole, then the relationship between their characters, and the relationship of the rich and powerful compared to normal society. We say huck around here, cityslicker
>You can obsess over it and let it consume you, or you can ignore it, and live a normal life I figured some kind of bullshit like this. But was the wife unfaithful or not? Because that would make a pretty big difference. What about the ending with the masked guys and the daughter? Honestly, I was pretty disgusted by the movie even if that was the intended view. Particularly at this part I think Tom Cruise made an excellent job with his face, because that was exactly the face I had.

The power of film is that it can tear you in different directions. It can also make you think, deeply at times. I think that is the power of this film. It makes you think deeply about the subject matter. And regardless of the filmmakers intention, it achieves its goal.

>but man, there was something about her. the fact that she was a petite, sexually precocious 16 year old with a predatory predilection for older men, maybe.
Logan Hernandez
Tom Cruise had it too. We all have it. Nicole Kidman was able to control hers more, but Tom Cruise hadn't really paid any attention to it until Kidman told him about wanting to fuck the sailor. After finding out about that, Cruise went on a journey where he saw all that was wrong with society, and was tempted by prostitutes, and at the end of it all, he decides it's best to just live and not think about all that shit too much
No, user. This is the only conspiracy theory that exists.
Carter Thomas
Even though Stanley died, I find it interesting all the reliable sources say he was especially proud of this film. I wonder why he was especially proud of this one?
Gavin Brown
Eh, I would have find her more attractive if she wasn't a fucking whore. If I liked something about the film is that he never fell for temptation even after being tempted, whether it was by mistake/chance. And if he did, he would have ended like most black people and homosexuals. Also, the depiction of how rotten society is is both pretty jarring and pretty accurate. I don't really get disgusted easily, but this movie managed to.
it's pretty easily verifiable celona's reported on a number of other high profile deaths pretty funny stuff the thread if you're not concerned about turning into a conspiracy freak twitter.com/mooncult/status/1163589661677125632
The world is far darker than most people dare to even think about. That’s basically what I got from it, and perhaps secondarily, our animal instincts, whether they be sexual or a propensity for violence, undergird people’s behaviors and lives in a way that is rarely acknowledged. Sex is everything almost.
Colton Morgan
Who knows. Ask the sailor. Also, I've been reading that is very possible he wasn't even able to finish it in the first place, even though he was a pain in the ass with everything related to the movie up to it's screening. So shit like music and other stuff like it wasn't directly managed by him, so saying he was proud of the movie is really questionable.
it's super overrated on Yea Forums for some reason
you're better off listening to an old episode of loveline if you want any insight into male/female relationships
Ayden Ross
Everyone who was close to him said he was really happy in general and especially about the movie. He probably would have worked on anything to the last minute, but I really do think he liked this one.
Nicholas Fisher
I agree. I can see why it would be overrated, but from what I read, I can also say that the whole mystery is out of the ass, it doesn't solve anything either on purpose or because Kubrick never finished it, so it leaves you thinking a lot about something that might not be there.
I think it's a movie that solely relies on shock, and doesn't go anything, but I guess that on itself is interesting as to why it's so shocking.
So was the secret society really dangerous or was Ziegler telling the truth and the girl did genuinely overdose?
Blake Adams
He did and he tried to expose epstein and his friends by making the film.
Brandon Lee
The group is dangerous, but it was an od.
Charles Carter
So are we to assume that’s Nick is safe at home also or was he killed?
Henry Allen
I hate to say it but the moral of the story is have sex. Specifically, don't get turned off by your wife just because you're used to her. In the first scene we the audience see Nicole Kidman strip and we love it. Tom Cruise walks around her while she's on the toilet and doesn't care, but then he risks everything to see naked strangers. In the last seen she tells Tom Cruise they need to have sex.
Jason Rodriguez
Holy shit, even his death is suspicious as shit. That has me puzzled in the end as well.
Evan Brown
You can go crazy wondering about that, or you can just accept what Ziegler said as fact and live your life
Mason Ward
he violated an elite occult sex/sacrifice party and has to give them his daughter as payment otherwise him and his family are dead. One of my theories is this actually happened to kubrick in the 60's youtube.com/watch?v=yVPVv0izGUE
