from what ive seen the animation is improving and humour is reminicent of old spongebob
pretty sure hillenburg came back to work on the show for a short while before he passed. now they're probably trying to make an effort to improve the show to not tarnish his legacy.

It's a crappy kid show that I used to watch 20 years ago, so I have no overall opinion on it. I just can't believe out of all the Nickelodeon shows this one lasted the longest. I can still remember pre-Spongebob Nickelodeon.

I don't remember much of Season 4 & 5, because I was in high school by that point so I didn't watch much cartoons. Plus was dead to me by that point. However, I can remember the early seasons like it was yesterday. Episodes in particular that stand out to me are the secret box and band geeks episodes.
