I'll start
10/10 Movies
Netflix ruins the twist by listing Orson Welles as the main cast member so I didn't enjoy it as much
>Being a plotfag
This is why cinema hasn't progressed
The movie is 70 years old, user.
Unironically this
Call me wrong, I dare you.
overrated
not even Friedkin's best
correct
The original is also better
Wages of Fear (1954)
Liam?
it's the perfect movie
Literally a ripoff of superior genre movies
I have never seen a grown adult say that they like these movies
To be fair, it isn't much of a twist. It's barely a twist at all.
>Dude investigates the mysterious death of his friend.
>All the people involved are sketch as fuck and give conflicting accounts, something is amiss.
>There is a mysterious "third man" associated with the mysterious murder.
> ...
>oh lol it was a pretend murder and the "third man" was actually the dude's friend all along. WHAT A TWIST!
>ripoff
>What are "parody" and "homage" for $200, Alex.
exquisite taste
I would classify these as 10s.
that's my favorite movie of all time. also in my top 5 are The Wicker Man, Dead Man, Arsenic & Old Lace, and American Astronaut
Good taste user
The Thing by Carpenter
depression kino
guess again
Never seen an Ackerman movie, i should try that one.
completely agree
No one talks about this one compared to some of his other works, but damn was this a tearjerker
>Ultimate Disappointment!
Oh yeaaahhh
I like it better than his samurai movies, his Shakespeare adaptations, and his other period pieces, desu
list of french new wave movies better than breathless:
Stolen Kisses (10/10)
Bed & Board
Le Bonheur (10/10)
Who Are You, Polly Magoo
Cleo From 5 to 7 (10/10)
Paris Belongs to Us
The Witnesses
Jules & Jim (10/10)
My Night At Maud's (10/10)
Lola (10/10)
Bay Of Angels
that's off the top of my head. I'm sure you can add more. were there any french new wave directors that weren't better than godard? demy's musicals sucked ass but he had two classics under his belt before his gayness took over.
also Dreams
>Black comedy
>not Tyler Perry
???
this
I dig his contemporary-set movies that I've seen. Drunken Angel, No Apologies For Our Youth, One Wonderful Sunday, I Live In Fear, Scandal, Ikiru
I guess if things take place in modern times, I'm better able to get sucked into the story. does that make me a pleb of sorts?
pardon me goated on the sticks czech film coming through
based
not you
The music in The Third Man ruins it. Probably the worst instrument imaginable.
hahaha faggot
grow up and go back
am I to understand you've seen all of those but not High & Low?
>Drunken Angel
just watched this recently, hell fucking yes
one of the best movies i've ever seen
Based blueberry pirate poster
Thread needs more non-kurosawa japanese. If you dig Teshigahara I implore you to check out a couple Teryama kinos
well since the threads dying fuck it let's get controversial. This was absolutely a 10/10 for me personally and I think for anyone that knows what it's like to live with anxiety and social alienation. One of the best of the decade along with Upstream Color
Literally watching a 10/10 right now. Satantango
All this deep euro shit is so hard to find
>10/10
maybe if he bought editing software
Everything in this thread is entry level "patrician" or arthouse, you are looking in the wrong places. Sorry I can't help you don't have any private tracker invites to hand out.
I wouldn't say 10/10 but this was definitely interesting.
Bresson > FNW
Nah, most Kurosawa is kino but like you I feel more strongly about his modern set movies
Best prison escape movie ever. Better than The Great Escape
rarbg.to
there you go.
Wow, that's beautiful. I haven't seen this one yet. Thanks!
Based
>blows faggy french cigarette smoke in your direction
Ah, Perfection.
the sequel is better
total snoozefest
great taste user
Excellent picks
For me, it's Nightcrawler
Starts off with 2 kinos and rapidly declines from there.
How does that ruin the twist?
He was always listed in the cast, from the time the movie was first released.
At some point the viewer might think "uh isn't Orson Welles supposed to be in this movie? I haven't seem him yet" but they wouldn't know what part he's supposed to play.
When we first see him, we recognize Orson Welles, but it's only when Cotton says "Harry" that we realize Harry is still alive.
Not one fucking Herzog movie yet. I'll start.
found the zoomer
yesssss
it's on my all time favorite list
Inb4 no
No comedies posted yet. This board is full of /nofunallowed/ bores
Nightcrawler is like a strong 7. This is what a 10 looks like:
Hey, how did that boat get there.
Watch Aguirre and Fitzcarraldo back to back... I see them as "descent into madness" and then "return from madness"
This is a 10. Just look at that sexy 70mm film.
ok faggot go be annoying somewhere else
what is cobra verde then?
>LE TWIST
please go back to your capeshit threads
this
Never seen it
Annie Hall
Some Like it Hot (my friend's favorite movie)
Groundhog Day
okay buddy retard, you're the one that hasn't seen these films, they ARE entry level and that's not shitting on them just acknowledging they're so ubiquitous for their quality everyone with a passing curiosity has seen them and they're not "hard to find" they're even on rarbg ffs kys pleb
Comedy is so subjective so it's a pretty difficult one whereas most dramas deal with pretty universal themes.
Tootsie for me is a legit 10/10 movie but I'm sure for many on here it wouldn't be.
Nah you gotta watch Burden of Dreams with Fitzcarraldo. Agurrie is its own thing.
Also pic related is my favourite Herzog. It's proof that real mental illness is hilarious.
alright faggot are you done bitching about something nobody cares about?
With ropes. Also its not a special effect.
thank you, Nightcrawler, while decent, reaks of sophomoric taste that just hasn't watched enough film
La Flor (2018) dir. Mariano Llinas.
If you are able to watch it on a big screen don't even think of missing it. I know the 14 hours screentime can be scary but it feels shorter than any capeshit "movie"
Holy crap . Thank you. His masterpiece imo.
They're such fags in the UK that the main characters don't even mow down the villains in a hail of gunfire. Disappointing. A limp dicked homage.
What's this? I always give movies with redheads at least a look.
You are correct
That's Moira Shearer in the Red Shoes. It's kino and she's a hot piece of ass.
yes
Young Ones
Shotgun Stories
Into Temptation (Sisto & Chenoweth)
Kalifornia
Clockers
The Corruptor
Until the End of the World
Unironically a perfect movie
It really isnt, although it is very good.
Greatest Jackie Chan movie and the perfect action movie
Thanks user!
I hate everything else the director’s done but I have to admit I like this
Cringe. 6/10 maybe 7/10
Except for character assassinating Salieri, I agree.
>greatest action movie
that's not hard boiled
>10/10 movies
All these: Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk
Iron Man 2
Thor
Captain America: The First Avenger
The Avengers
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Ant-Man
Captain America: Civil War
Doctor Strange
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Thor: Ragnarok
Black Panther
Avengers: Infinity War
Ant-Man and the Wasp
Captain Marvel
Avengers: Endgame
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Parajanov is always a treat.
Robocop
Mulholland Dr.
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (1978)
What a waste of perfectly good dubs
based, redpilled, and robust
robocop is a good choice
Robocop really shouldn't be as great as it is but it somehow manages to pull off everything it tries to do flawlessly. It goes from being a black comedy to being an ultra-violent, cheesy 80s action movie to being satire to being really fucking touching and disturbing to being a sci-fi re-telling of the Jesus story without ever feeling like a complete fucking tonal mess. It's seriously impressive.
The Thing
Alien
Jaws
Man on Fire
No Country for Old Men
Should pack up shop lads cause this list can't be toppled
These are my favorite movies, I posted this in a thread a few days ago. My personal 10/10s
