So, tell me, does Yea Forums like The Lobster? What did you think about it? Do you think he went through with blinding himself?
So, tell me, does Yea Forums like The Lobster? What did you think about it...
It made me think "This is pretty good, but definitely a downgrade from Dogtooth"
Then I watched The Favourite, which made me think "That was pretty good, but a downgrade from The Lobster and Dogtooth".
Yorgos needs to get his shit together.
i thought it started as a pretty interesting satire then ||turned into a rather boring and conventional film once he escapes||
shit I tried to do discord spoilers
The Favourite was directed by the same guy that did Dogtooth? Somehow I never realized this.
i thought this too till i rewatched dogtooth and it doesnt hold up as well as i first though. the favourite is my favorite
Essential numale core.
4/5 for me. Really a solid roller coaster of emotions and shock value as a viewer, but it never seems forced. I don't care for the fact that it has a nonending though. So I guess maybe it's more like a 3.5 for me, but the lack of an ending doesn't feel like he's leaving it up to interpretation or being deep. The failure to "make a statement" leaves what he was trying to illustrate in other parts of the movie feeling hollow at best.
Movies are meant to be experienced once. Rewatching is a desire to live in the past, and creates unreal expectations for low seeded brains.
The ending was sweet. Not the best movie. MAYBE a 7/10. Worth watching once.
Kino.
A better ending would have him coming back to the table and sitting down still fine, her asking if he blinded himself and him lying and saying yes
tfw no blind gf
Yeah, i thought that would have been fitting. Felt like as the movie progressed, he realized more and more he could get away with lying.
To be honest it's nearly impossible to top Dogtooth
>check actress
>literally Yorgos Lanthimos's wife
Are all directors actual cucks?
I thought it was really funny the first time I watched it because in part I thought the weird way they were talking was part of the world he was building in The Lobster. Then I saw his other movies and realized he just makes all his actors act in that way in all his movies for some reason.
As a professional diagnosed autist with a phobia of relationships, no other movie comes this close to capturing how I see other people
>not a single mention of the masterpiece that is The Killing Of A Sacred Deer
Was it banned in murica or something? For me it's on par with Dogtooth if not better
Its called acting.
Surprised Yorgos is straight thou, most of his movies tend to have a weird homoerotic subtext
this made me really hard fuck i was watching this with my female roommate though fuckkk
it was a fun movie
the failure to make a statement adds to the overall film. It reaffirms that this is just a dark comedy, not much more
did you fuck?
i wish ngl
But the whole point was that after she got blind they had nothing in common. She wasn't shortsighted anymore like he was. So the ending is either that he goes through with it or leaves her entirely.
>The Killing Of A Sacred Deer
that was cool indeed
What about To Kill a Sacred Deer?
The Favourite > DogTooth > Sacred Deer > Lobster >>> Alps.
though i should say i do like them all.
