Direct sequel to the 1974 original, ignoring all sequels and other reboots.

>tfw no Chainsaw Massacre cinematic universe that expands to all 50 states
The only shared universe BS that would interest me by this point were all the slashers teaming up and just massacring teenagers on like a giant cruise ship or something. Fuck trying to build a universe or making them the protagonists or etc.
>ignoring all sequels and other reboots
the daddario movie do that to and that sucked besides daddario tits
Which state would have the worst movie?
Why? It already had a pretty good reboot with gore and explicit violence. The original is utterly unique in tone and could never be replicated.
>already a reboot
that was SIXTEEN YEARS ago mate. Time for a new reboot
>besides daddario tits
she showed nothing
>not appreciating solid side boob
>yet another reboot for TCM
how many is that now? I think that tops Halloween's 4 reboots
>that was SIXTEEN YEARS ago
>Time for a new reboot
There was literally just ANOTHER another one.
the absolute state of Yea Forums
I think we need a new term for this, Restart rather than Reboot would be better because they're not rebooting and starting all over, they're restarting from the original. The set start point is there and remains there.
Delaware chainsaw massacre
Boy I can't wait for a shittier reboot of an already existing movie. What a world we live in.
>The third movie
>Rob Zombie remake.
What are the other 2?
Why don't they simply make shot-for-shot remakes in those cases? You get the money with a smaller budget and people can't say it's worse than the original. I mean a Fistful of Dollars has a great reputation and yet it's a shot-for-shot remake of that Kurosawa film
Fuck off. TCM is not a franchise. It has never worked as one. It will never work as one. There's no expanding that needs to be done on that first movie.
>Remake
>Prequel to Remake
>Reboot AGAIN
>Prequel to Reboot AGAIN
I'm noticing a pattern.
I wasn't counting 3 as a reboot was counting 4 but same thing
>H4
>H20
>Zombie Halloween
>Halloween 2018
H4 brought Michael back from the dead and basically removed the ending of II
H20 took out everything after II
Zombie rebooted the whole thing
H 2018 cuts out everything after the original
>tfw Slasher Renaissance has arrived
just gotta get f13 up and running and one final nightmare and we're good
Half of what makes TCM so good is that the low budget nature makes it feel real in a way that's hard to recreate. The fact that they're in the middle of the Texas summer on a set without proper ventilation, and there are dead animal parts rotting all around them. Filming was an actual nightmare, and that's what comes through,
Unfortunately Halloween was a success, so now we get to enjoy this slog of mess until they realize it doesn't work either like TCM/SH/What the fuck ever+3D tacked on the end of the title. It was stunning how many movies just had titles +3D, and they weren't even the third movies.
>people can't say it's worse than the original
yeah they can, look a that shot for shot remake of Psycho
How will they gloss over that Leather was making a (female) skin suit
They should just go balls out & do that Silence of the Lambs/TCM crossover nobody ever thought of or asked for.
They need to stop. The original is the best horror movie of all time.
Horror/slasher stuff seems to have taken off big in the vidya side of things. Weird trend but I'm liking it so far.
>It was stunning how many movies just had titles +3D
The Friday the 13th sequel to the 09 one was gonna have 3D tacked onto it.
Script actually seemed like it coulda made a good movie. Makes me sad.
>80s sound track
>Jason kills a bunch of campers, winds up killing a bunch of cops at the end too
I'd kill for a decent adaptation of something like the Forest.
growing up as an 80s kid in texas we were made to belive that it really happened and leatherface was locked up somewhere in dallas
why not just do a ed gein movie but give him a chainsaw
Based parents fucking with their kid's heads for no other reason than shits & giggles.
>not posting pics
Requel, like the new Halloween movie
Damn, wouldn't this be like Leatherface's 6th timeline?
it wasnt my parents though and they warned me not to watch it. this and night of the living dead but oh well
Savepoint, they're picking up the game before they fucked it all up.
This is so fucking stupid. Bankrupt motherfuckers.
This is all you need.
Yeah, but cut the three that aren't the first one.
2 still kills me for being one of the only films able to be simultaneously over and under rated. It was really just Tobe jerking off in your face.
I think I like TCM 2 better than 1 now. It's so goofy and fun.
As long as they don't come up with any new ideas. Please, dear lord, don't let them do that!
They better film it like the original. Real film. Scratch the shit out of it and sun bleach it.
No HD digital shit. Don’t over produce it
Get Tarantino to over see it
How about fucking faggot nigger Jew producers have no ideas left
2 is basically Tobe Hooper making a joke out of the concept of a TCM sequel, because it's such a bad idea in the first place. It's fun in it's own way, but I don't consider it canon or anything,
Okay, bear with me. Could they actually murder people on camera? That's like the only way you're going to top the original in rawness.
You only need the first. The rest are dead weight. Useless and pointless.
No, the sequel was an amazing black Comedy, and the remake and its prequel are enjoyable, and this is coming from someone who mostly doesn't enjoy remakes often.
>It was really just Tobe jerking off in your face.
I still enjoy it for what it was, and it was a great way to end Leatherface. Everything else afterward besides the remake was retarded and pointless.
Why try to copy or "out-do" the original? Why can't it just stand on its own and people quit diluting it by making shitty reboot after shitty reboot? Really, that's a real question.
>but I don't consider it canon or anything
It doesn't matter whether you personally see it as 'canon' or not. It is. It clearly acknowledges the events of the first movie and shows Franklin's dead corpse.
Part III is not a good movie but I like it
This looks so retarded.
Worst: Minnesota
Best: Florida or Utah
It's an absurd tonal shift. Those two movies don't exist in the same universe. They just don't. It's like if Space Balls was an actual Star Wars sequel.
Why do people complain about slasher sequels but are fine seeing the 100th remake of Dracula or Frankenstein or Godzilla or King Kong movie. The original Kong is way more iconic than TCM
>THIS one is going to be the real sequel guise
Make a surreal comedy followup to TCM2 you cowards.
>tfw no Nebraska Cornhusker Massacre
That movie fucking sucks. "Ironic shitposting is still shitposting" is the best way to describe that hunk of garbage.
I liked the 03 reboot and it’s sequel had a few good moments. The ones after that were total trash.
>It's like if Space Balls was an actual Star Wars sequel
>*"Hardware Wars" shot from TLJs in your path*
Actually, if they made a "real" TCM3, and it was just as much of a bizarre departure, I'd be down with that. Make it some kind of existential crisis of a meta movie like A Cock and Bull Story.
>Those two movies don't exist in the same universe. They just don't.
Yeah, it's not like this scene happened in TCM 2 or anything.
Nobody is fine with them. They are all trash that no one but peabrains are excited to see. They are not creative, not interesting, and are just lazy retreads of classic movies that stand alone just fine without the moneygrabbing fluff that comes along after them. They offer nothing new or exciting. They all fucking suck.
It's like how a version of the events of Night of the Living Dead are considered canon to Return of the Living Dead, but RotLD is in no way the canon sequel.
You can't answer a question with a question.
it is, but I kind of like the scene where Leatherface is driving around in a jacked pickup truck with floodlights listening to thrash metal. I've seen worse movies from this series. Still, retarded is a good way to describe the movie.
You're comparing a sequel to a movie that was directed and written by the same director to a totally different series that wasn't and never considered itself canon to Romero's films (who also never acknowledged Return of the Living Dead as part of his series). You're retarded, this discussion is closed.
A better example would be the Star Wars holiday special, which in theory is 100% canon, and even establishes certain pieces of lore like Boba Fett and planet Kashyyyk, but it's still not canon.
>Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation
I vaguely remember that
wrong pic
Oldfag here, the original teaser trailer for part III aka Leatherface remains such an epic memory. People were fucking stoked. A lightning bolt strikes his new saw, and the VHS poster was badass, just him in near total black, like a super serial killer.
Why they could make such an epic trailer and yet a shitty movie will always be a bummer. They left shitloads of money on the table by doing this. The teaser is pretty well regarded in the industry to this day.
Why not just remake the orginal, but do a 1:1 remake. Its not a complicated movie. Its the presentation that made it scary
>teens show up at old house
>suddenly out of nowhere and without warning, a tard with a chainsaw apprars like the koolaid man and kills most of the cast in under 10 mins
so is this the new trend? completely remove horror movie sequels as canon and just start over like they never happened?
I like it. What new canon sequels do you want to see lads?
Almost none of that is what is actually good or scary about TCM though. TCM is really about this fucked up family who live in some forgotten old place, who reinforce each other's behaviour and have their own whole sense of morality. It's like you're gazing in on this whole fucked up incestuous mess that's been going on for God knows how long. It's mysterious, and you don't have all the answers. TCM has been reduced in pop culture to another slasher movie where Leatherface is the monster, and he kills people with a chainsaw, and that's not really it at all. Hell, it might be more true to the spirit of that first film, to just do away with Leatherface, and have a new set of characters.
in the mouth of madness and Ice Cream Man
agree. the family dynamic is the most creepy part of the movie, leatherface is just the cherry on the cake. turning him into michael meyers was a mistake
I'm still waiting for The Hills Have Eyes 3
