Storm Troopers walking around assaulting guests was pretty fun. Don’t know why they don’t have other original trilogy characters at the outpost. It’s hard to separate the original actors from their characters unless they’re masked or just new enough that younger kids wouldn’t get confused. Rey was walking around with Chewy and the cast member playing her looked the part. Growing pains I guess.

If a kid can relate to Rey then good on them. To get as many people interested in a franchise they create characters that can resonate with different people. Luke spent the original movie bitching and Han was just a badass off the bat. She wasn’t made for people who watched the originals or the prequels to relate to, she was made for their kids. I took it as “something about her past has to explain why she’s a natural at this” until TLJ. I think the “your parents were random junkies” arc will be explained off as Kylo trying to fuck with her or something.

Well there wasn't really a plan, we just toyed with getting together but I'm the only one that could us buy drinks and since I wasn't really budging, we didn't follow through.

I think it's not people don't like me, it's just I need to leave them space so they don't think they're the only friends I have. Didn’t see any character as the “face of the park” when I went. My sister read the supplemental novels and brought me up to speed on the Black Spire book, what the “Galaxy’s Edge” is supposed to be to the rewritten canon, and what’s supposed to come next (she likes to read). I don’t see the problem with them adding random characters to explain side stories within the brand universe if it helps contextualize it for the ones who keep up with the relevant media.

Not a troll thread, I like to lurk here when I’m bored and I saw people bitching about the park so I thought I’d offer my two cents. Nothing will ever satisfy everyone. Despite what people think they’re trying to continue the story in the safest, most profitable way. Star Wars was a b-movie inspired scifi adventure based heavily in mysticism and the heroes journey. People hated the second film when it came out too but now it’s looked back on fondly. The prequels were shit on when I was growing up but they’re now accepted as the camp that it was. TLJ was a misfire but it’s not the worst thing that could have happened. They’re calming down with the prequel films and dumping them on streaming because Solo was awful (could have been great). I think both sides of the fandom are annoying as fuck. The diehard fans who lose their shit over anything Star Wars (pic related) and the edgelords who just hate everything.

I live near universal Studios/Disney.(both are fun)
When my nephew visited we went to universal and he was wearing his Spider-Man pajamas and there was a parade and every single marvel character stopped and asked for his picture.
He was SO happy.
Then we watched a bmx tour.(thats a bunch of dude doing bicycle tricks) then he got hosed down by a random water/volcano (so did some I'm expecting parents as a smash mout song played).The his sister got to meet Betty Book!
The parks arent cheap,but they are worth it only if you want to have fun.
Too many people plan it step by step,I've seen an adult yell at another adult because "Its 8:15 and we arnt in line for the spiderman ride because you just had to take you picture with Popeye".

They actually were making an entire remodel of AdventureLand that was Indiana Jones themed before the budget was slashed so significantly it became just the ride. The concept later was being reused for Euro Disney but they once again slashed the budget until it became just one ride. This type of thing definitely would have been possible under Disney, it was their fault it never happened not Lucas.

I always saw Lucas as “the wizard in the closet”, that genius who sucked when it came to doing a lot of the PR/ product generation. He was great when he made the film, but no way could he have taken it to the level of detail, marketability, and polish that Disney did.

He already did with Star Tours, it's not just George calling the shots it was Imagineers doing most of the heavy lifting and creative work with him approving and would have been the same I imagine had a world been made under his ownership. It's pretty clear Disney are just cheap and wouldn't bother with anything like that if they couldn't own all of it's profits. Although they did it with Avatar before owning it, but for all we knew they already were set on buying FOX by that point regardless.

They were planning it for a while so it’s not out of the question that they built Pandora while thinking about buying fox. It also helped bring traffic to animal kingdom. Nobody went at night (or at all) so they needed a draw

Go to industry events (Eventbrite, Facebook event), learn enough about the industry and the path you want to take, and do it. I managed to change career paths without being handed a job or position. It’s hard as fuck but it’s possible.

Well, the dumbest thing about entertainment (since this thread is referencing it and I'm doing it) is that it is heavily reliant on social media. That's the biggest problem.
