norm didn't own the rights to his podcast, jash (the media company that hired him) did.
netflix was interested in the podcast so they bought all the podcast episodes and the rights to norm. so they were taken down on youtube so Netflix could just put them on their service exclusively.
but then netflix decided to just "reinvent" the show and canned the podcast release. that just means they didn't want some of the "edgier" jokes from the podcast on their service. which is ironic because norm ended up triggering everyone and went on that apology tour.
so netflix owns the rights to the old podcast and poor norm is a puppet with no control in this matter. it fucking sucks.
