My problem with Korra is that after Book 2, the show essentially becomes substandard; which is a reaaaal letdown from a show like ATLA. It just doesn't help that Korra is so unlikable. The best she becomes is "bearable" after the first two books; which is terrible when one considers how likable Aang was.

In fact, none of the characters in Korra were ever as likable or depthful as the ATLA characters, barring maybe Tenzin.

Well it's been a few years, but as I remember she was an Asian tumblr artist that produced a lot of Korra porn and cheesecake, but it was revealed she was like 17 and lived with her parents, still. The plot compared to the original is literally dog tier. Villian of the week every season that gets beated by the end with some bullshit. Legend of Aang actually felt like a journey through wins and losses. Characters were nothing special. Romance was also really shallow and I bet a SJW pushed the lesbian bullshit ending.

You've actually just reminded me how unmemorable some of the Korra villains are. Book 2's was undoubtedly the worst; and Amon was interesting, but completely fucking wasted (and I even think the twist of what he actually is could've worked if it wasn't so obviously tacked on). Henry Rollins in Book 3 was boring as fuck and his entourage never had personalities.

Ironically, I'd probably say Book 4 had the most interesting villain. Just a shame nobody saw it.

On the contrary, I thought the villains was Korra's strongest points, save for book 2 because we don't talk about book 2.
They were just wasted because they were limited to just one season each and never really had time to gestate and get explored as characters like, say, azula.
I liked the theme they had for each of them being a major 20th century conficting ideology. Like, you have Amon being a commie, the dude from book 2 being loyalty, Zaheer being an anarchist and Kuvira being /fash/.
I don't know if it was on purpose but I like it.

I will never forgive Korra book 2 for retconning the entire basis of the lore for the Avatar spirit and essentially the entire universe.

I like to think that LoK isn’t even cannon desu. Not only was the series a complete waste but it ruins the lore of the originally so thoroughly and completely.
