Name two sitcoms where this happened.

the office and big bang theory

Where's the furries? It's the 2000s.

I can't believe such an ugly, poorly-optimized virtual chatroom got so popular.

>that csi episode where they have a high speed chase in second life with a furry
Old people trying to understand the internet will never not be hilarious

Remember when irl retailers were opening their virtual stores there and people would pay irl prices for the pixels?

it didn't really get popular, it just let people make their shitty fetishes "real." it got some MSM press because people mistook it for the future.

Hidden away and unknown by pop culture. It's the 2000s.

I actually do think there's potential to the idea. Remove the paywall, make it easier to create content and wait till VR catches on and we can go full Snow Crash.

It wasn't big in the UK. An university spent millions on it in Glasgow, but that's all I heard.
I mean, I like the graphics, but I never got it.
Loooool!!!!!

The graphics are horrible.

My biggest gripe was after checking it out a few months ago out of sheer curiosity. Couldn’t believe how poorly it ran and the frame rate was unbearable. I’ve read that this “game” got insane amounts of funding over the years and it still functions like a side plot item created for a movie.

It was, It was popular all over

the only reason its dead now is becuase they fucked the economy

It was a huge interconnected sim where you could build and sell in real time, you could make real money, It was huge at one point

my gf used to make £60-£150 from it in sales

Isn't that just VRChat tho?

posting the only good thing to come from second life
