This would be true if it weren't this type of character-driven movie. If it's solely focused on the character then it's best to just have the poster display that character. If it's plot-driven or has multiple characters, then a background is superior.

Is the paint dripping off, or is it dry and has been peeled off? The top portion seems to imply it's dry and torn off, with the edges turned upwards but the bottom looks more like it's melting off which doesn't make sense.

Ok then just replace paint with skin. It's still the same. There's a disconnect of what's happening between the top and bottom.

Endgame's poster looked fine especially for a Hollywood CG fest. Infinity War had it worse.
