Sure, 2 years is not a long time. But ma,y of you had the time to watch and re-watch this sequel many times already. Time to digest it if you will. I personally loved it just as much as the original. I think it perfectly complements Scott's film even though it's stylistically quite different. Do you guys think 2049 will stand the test of time ? Will it become a future cult/classic of the sci-fi genre ? Or eventually forgotten, kinda like "2010: The Year We Make Contact".
I think Villeneuve pulled out a quasi-miracle to be honest. (not insinuating that he's a mediocre film director or anything, on the contrary) because many fans were ready to jump on him for having the audacity to direct a sequel in the first place. I know that many of you hated it. Some thought it was brilliant. Some even liked it better than the original.
With all that said, i'm very curious. To be ashamed, this is an anonymous forum. (not really but at least no username is required). But have any of you changed your opinion on the film since then ? And yes i'm even talking about the haters. Any change of hearts ? Has the film somehow grown on you ? Or do you still loath it as much as your first time viewing it?
It will be remembered of the best work of art of the 21st century.
Thomas Morgan
Stand the test of time? It'll do more than that, it'll become better with time. It's incredible and I'm extremely glad to have watched it after years of neglecting it. It's outstandingly rare for a film to leave me wanting to do a re-watch but this one did it.
I like it more than the original, because the original did almost nothing for me, it's just really, really strong visually and has a fantastic soundtrack.
I actually felt something for the characters in 2049, I really at no point but the "Tears in rain" speech felt anything in the original film. Obviously Roy Batty is a better antagonist than anybody in 2049 by a long shot, but that and the music really is all the original have over the sequel.
The only thing I dislike about the sequel really is the music by Hans Zimmershit, there's maybe 2-3 good tracks but even the good ones are not great, because he's such a predictable hack composer. Also I really do not like Jared Leto in the slightest, he's not good in the movie and he's not good in really anything, also I have a normie friend that swears he's straight but I bet my left fucking nut that he'd suck Jared Leto off, he can't stop talking about him, like how amazing his acting is and how amazing his band is, like really dude? you don't wanna suck and fuck this guy? but anyways that's an aside.
The thing I remember the most fondly about this movie is that the threads here on Yea Forums for it were godly when it first came out and when the blurays dropped online
Bladereddit 2049 is mcdonalds arthouse cyberpunk. The people making those frustrated Gosling Whomp Whomp face memes are also normalniggers who ironically jerk off to traps. I'm above all that, and tear the dicks off and shoot Brandon Tarrant real ARs into the corpses of the homosexuals and trannies. And you know what? Their dicks don't do anything. All the wounding is nearly invisible on the surface. Cliclack, I learned it takes a little while for blood to start emitting from the combine_1 emitters in any bullet wounds I make on a living creature.
They "climb over the c_mountain", yet I fire several times and make their dicks even more useless. Tearing the dick off and sticking a 6 inch knife in the scrotum hole would really cause some pain to the testicular nerve coils.
>Obviously Roy Batty is a better antagonist than anybody in 2049 by a long shot
I found Luv from 2049 to be infinitely more interesting. Also, Jared Leto wasn't the villain. Wallace saved humanity from starvation, how can you call him a villain? He's just chaotic neutral. Fresa? (one eye lady) was the real villain. She deliberately set K up for her shitty rebellion but had no thought for K's rights. Ironic.
Isaac Myers
Probably the best sci fi film post 2000
Connor Johnson
I see you are still post-ironically pretending that this autistic big studio imitation of a cult classic that turned out good on accident is "kino", because it's some sort of a incel self-insert or whatever.
Tyler Ward
This. Fucking commies are the same everywhere. Based. Cringe.
Brandon Taylor
I loved it then and I love it now, Wallace was very overacted but otherwise it's very solid, absolutely loved the cold and bleak visual style with the soundtrack.
I agree, they butchered Deckard in the adaptation, especially with the Ripley's replicant thing. Ford did a good job however.
Adrian Russell
>Sure, 2 years is not a long time. Not when you sit on your useless ass all hours of every day, OP :^)
Mason Morales
Shit taste blinded by memes and unwarranted hatred. Leto was fine. Everyone involved did good. Take the stick out your ass
Brandon Ortiz
>I'm extremely glad to have watched it after years of neglecting it. It's outstandingly rare for a film to leave me wanting to do a re-watch but this one did it.
neglecting it ? You mean you refused to see it at the cinema out of principle ? (because you thought it was a potential insult to the original ?)
Jose Ortiz
>Do you guys think 2049 will stand the test of time I'ts already forgotten and it bombed in both theaters and home video unlike the original so it doesn't count as a cult classic either > I think it perfectly complements Scott's film Scott himself didn't like it Rutger Hauer called it soulless The plot and worls is inconsistent with the original and arguably makes the happy ending canon but who cares, it was made to be as commercial as possible, removing the noir elements becasue it's not popular anymore unlike the 80's. Hiring Zimmer instead of vangelis because Zimmer is popular. hologram fanservice pandering to the lowest common denominator. It's a shallow cash in which failed to cash in
Lucas King
>I found Luv from 2049 to be infinitely more interesting Problem with Luv is that the actress doesn't have 1/10th of the screen presence that Rutger Hauer did, so even if she is written on paper to be an important role, I didn't really feel it the same way I did Roy.
Landon Lopez
The first was an all-time favorite so when the sequel was announced I simply didn't care (thought it'd just be a dumb nostalgia cashgrab, as every other film at the time was). Then, a couple of threads on Yea Forums started to entice me and I finally took the plunge. Best decision I've made.
Noah Gray
I said I loved the movie, is that not enough for you? Do I have to love everything about it? >Scott himself didn't like it imagine believing that the opinion of Ridley Scott matters in the 21st century.
>The only thing I dislike about the sequel really is the music by Hans Zimmershit, there's maybe 2-3 good tracks but even the good ones are not great,
Although i absolutely loved what Vangelis did for the original, (even though though Zimmer opted for something very different). I think both Walfisch and Zimmer did a fucking amazing job.
>Jared Leto is by far the worst part of the movie. Such a piece of shit unlikable actor.
He actually was pretty good in American Psycho (though he had a small part).
And also good in Requiem for a Dream.
Charles Evans
I think the only song I legitimately really liked is "Someone Lived This" felt like the only song with any kind of restraint to it. youtube.com/watch?v=2cRQJhiWV2U
Joseph Ortiz
Solid track, one of the best in the movie. Agreed, those earlier parts were pretty great. Seems that he's gotten worse with age.
Logan Reyes
>He actually was pretty good in American Psycho (though he had a small part). as someone that dislikes him, I'll agree that that is the one role I've liked him in.
Jace Bennett
No one else liked it either since they didn't buy a ticket or the home releases lol. In any case Ridley Scott was a much better neo-noir director with BR and Black Rain than Villeneuve ever will be. 2049 is a generic Hollywood movie, lacking any noir influence. Also Ridley he was smart enough to know that the question of Deckard's humanitu was more interesting than just answering it, which is boring as fuck. And he knew the happy ending was horseshit and removed it immediately given the chance to recut it, only for it to be made canon by 2049. Still, don't take his word for the shittiness of 2049, even though he's completely right, how about the guy who wrote the most memorable lines in the original by himself, Rutger Hauer? Nothing in 2049 is as good as Roy Baty was.
>No one else liked it either since they didn't buy a ticket or the home releases lol. I guess only popular movies are great, that's kind of a shame because I now realize that I'm wrong for liking any movie ever that didn't do well at the box office :(
Jackson Torres
>The first was an all-time favorite so when the sequel was announced I simply didn't care
I remember, back then, (when they first talked about a potential sequel) Nolan's name was mentioned, then Scott, then Scott had no time to direct it & convinced Villeneuve. I was very worried and ready to boycott it. But i couldn't help it, i just had to see it, cross my fingers and hope for the best. Since i wanted to prepare myself, get a better idea "who" was in charge, i binged Villeneuve's filmography (well almost)... Saw Sicario, Prisoners, Arrival, Incendies, Enemy... Had an idea of the guy's style and most importantly was reassured. Liked his other films, + Hampton Fancher was back, that was enough to convince me to move my ass to the theater and so glad i did.
Yes, it's no Vangelis but to be honest, i think it's better that way. What matters is that it has its own personality. Had Zimmer and Walfisch tried to copy Vangelis fans would've probably been more pissed anyway.
>The original is irredeemable garbage, this one is slightly less shit. What's your favorite sci-fi ? (just curious)
Caleb Brown
the book
Connor Moore
I just rewatched it this week. Even better than I remembered it to be.
Colton Campbell
I just don't like Hans Zimmers style at all, I know a lot of people do buy I've gotten so tired of him, he's really predictable and it bothers me how overrated he is, everyone jerks him off as the greatest fucking film composer of all time and it's so far from the truth that it's not even funny.
Logan Kelly
Nice strawman smoothbrain. The original isn't better because it's more popular. 2049 was a cashgrab that failed to get even a cult following, despite it being much more commercial than the original. 2049 was intended as a Star Wars competitor, inteded to spawn a multi film franchise. "After subsisting on midrange movies, Blade Runner 2049 was intended to transform Alcon by giving it a franchise." -Hollywood Reporter (2017) 2049 failed as an art film and as a commercial film. I'ts not misunderstood genius. It's a sellout that failed Blade Runner had a cult following for decades before mass audiences were reintroduced to it by the Final cut's marketing, It got an organic obsessive fanbase wit hthe criterion laserdisc and director's cut video release, spawned fansites obsessing over every detail and prop. 2049 has sad K memes and a failed commercial cashgrab
Isaac Thompson
>he's really predictable and it bothers me how overrated he is, everyone jerks him off as the greatest fucking film composer of all time Precisely why he was hired instead of Vangelis. Becasue he's popular. It's obvous that 2049 was made to pander to the lowest tier of moviegoers with hologram tits and easily digestible bland storytelling
Camden Davis
>Agreed, those earlier parts were pretty great. Seems that he's gotten worse with age.
Bad agent, bad artistic choices imo. Some actors aren't made to play certain parts. If i had to make an analogy, the same goes in boxing or mma, we often say "styles make fights". You can have an amazing fighter getting his ass handed to him by someone who's not necessarily as good as he is yet still lose.
He was also good in "Mr.Nobody" and Fincher's "Panic Room". He's a hit and miss type of actor. Some of his acting choices are odd, cringy...Yet he also nails it from time to time. I can understand the hate he's getting though.
Gals I witnessed it in IMAX. Best cinema experience of my life. Will stick with me for ever .
Lucas Wood
>the book You will be pleased to know. (or maybe indifferent), that before dying, K.Dick gave an audio interview and hjis impression of Scott's film before dying. Maybe you already heard it before, here it is anyway.
>witnessed it in IMAX. Same, (in an almost empty theater)
Blake Torres
Mine only had boomers in it. I was probably the youngest there. We were all silent for 30 seconds after the film ended. I also swear the audience nearly clapped, but people in my country don’t clap to films. Amazing.
Brody Harris
>you're a brainlet if you don't like interchangeable Hollywood soulless cash-in sequels with no substance which expects it's viewers to be so retarded it has to explain the plot every 15 minutes Yeah, you're not a complete smoothbrain pleb when you bought the manufactured "better than the original" hype a month before the film even came out. Any Blade Runner fan that isn't a newfag would hate 2049 just for making the happy ending canon, but you probably don't know what that is, since you only saw the Final cut once before 2049 so you could pose as a fan. Face it, you're a pleb.
Justin Bell
Yea and it was a last minute decision for me too, but then I finally caught a glimpse of some of the shots and that sealed the deal. A pleasant surprise when the film actually filled the entire screen for the full duration of the film. So damn comfy.
Jeremiah Edwards

i dont know why people love harrison ford in the original so much he has no charisma or presence, and the "romance" with rachel is so forced and awkward an autistic replicant in K has way more emotional resonance than anything harrison ford does
Parker Stewart
>but people in my country don’t clap to films. Amazing.
Same :)
Jayden Wright
Which version of the original do I watch?
Carter James
Should I watch Harrison fords or gooslings movie? I'm 27 years old, not a pleb, but fuck that movie is boring and already got spoiled by meme >the tears in rain
I love Vangelis however
Aaron Lee
>Do you guys think 2049 will stand the test of time OP it lost out top box office slot to happy death day. its not gonna stand the test of time
Samuel Bell
Same poster, viewed harrisons 3 times, but only 1 hour and 30 minutes, not entirely boring, but not entirely engaged.
>OP it lost out top box office slot to happy death day. its not gonna stand the test of time
So did the original... The original was a complete flop at the box office
Liam Morris
and the original is not a classic by any stretch. Alien is much more highly regarded than Blade runner, as is Terminator and other 80s scifi films
Aiden Sanders

Josiah King
>and the original is not a classic by any stretch. Bad troll
Connor Edwards
The original actually just barely made it's budget back unlike 2049 which lost a lot more 2049 had a huge marketing campaign unlike the original The original made it's money back with the home video releases, 2049 didn't sell any physical copeies and it's streaming ratings have been low
Gabriel Perez
It was decent. I liked that the script worked with BR's ambigious ending. Slow as balls though. The original wasn't fast paced, but it didn't meander either. Scenes had more purpose. BR2 had far too many shots of K standing, walking slowly, sitting, contemplating, brooding, etc. Much of it felt like I was staring at fancy looking wallpaper.
Owen Campbell
I'm thankful that I watched it twice on the big screen. I knew at the end of my first viewing that I had witnessed something incredible onscreen (girlfriend didn't think so, she said it was pretty but boring) I liked it so much so that I dragged my friend to see the last showing of it in my area and at the end he thanked me, he said it was his best viewing experience in a cinema and I honestly agree with him.
Mason Wright
It was excellent. I don't know if it will be remembered, or perhaps re-discovered (I am more sure about this second one). But I will remember it. Only time I went to the cinema more than one time for the same movie.
Connor Cook
It's an alternate timeline/universe that just closely resembles ours in some ways. Remember the original was set in 2019, and unless I'm out of the loop we don't have any space colonies or GMO human slaves in reality.
Caleb Green
She is mentally 12-14.
Grayson Reyes
The original was better, the only good part of the main plot was the romantic relationship K had with the hologram, the rest of the plot was super predicable, I predicted the "Twist" as soon as the scanning of the file at the police station scene happened. The setting is great, Gosling did a good job, hologram did a good job, Luv was solid. Main antagonist and police commissioner were complete shit and Ford half-assed his performance for the check. Also Zimmer is a fucking hack and most of the original tracks for the film sucked.
>main antagonist you mean Wallace? Not even sure he qualifies, he is more of a force of nature.
Eli Hall
I really miss luvposting
Christian Turner
This. I love watching Blade Runner when I'm in a chilled mood with all night to kill. Its asthetic is fantastic that deserves all the praisebir gets and I always recommend it to people HOWEVER despite that I am not blind to the fact that the acting is garbage and not just on Harrison's part. Most of the line deliveries are shockingly poor. That replicent with the weak chin, Rutger pretending to be an animal, the borderline rape that's supposed to be 'love' and Mr I Know All Origami Man
Jason Rivera
The recut, the voice over kills the original film
Brandon Watson
Wallace is the only real antagonist in the film, LUV even though she is far more interesting is basically an extension of Wallace, she was a tool for his ends.
Evan Anderson
It was a deliberate stylistic choice to abandon the claustrophobia of the original and go for more open shots. I love how it really give you a sense of the scale of the BR universe, something the first didn't do. The villains were pretty 1D and soulless though and that's where it fell down. You felt zero empathy for them. Tyrell in the first was somewhat intriguing but Wallace was just a comic book character. It did have some nice surprises and it was a satisfying resolution for the characters in the 1st.
All in all it wasn't as good or revolutionary as the original but still pretty good.
Once you get over nostalgia for the 1st it's quitr
Dominic Carter
Before it came out I was mad it even existed. Boy was I proven wrong. Such a good movie, maybe better than the original. Completely agree, OP.
Asher Morris
I watched BR and BR2049 back to back after watching neither before and I gotta say I preferred the original overall, I think it had a much stronger narrative than the sequel. 2049 is an excellent sequel but the narrative on its own leaves some to be desired in my view. I did enjoy the twist of K not being human and actually being an android despite the story trying to get you to believe the opposite, but as for rest of it I just felt as though it was rather run of the mill. The cinematography of both movies is really good and in some cases I think that BR2049 outdoes the original. The atmosphere of the original is unquestionably better though, in my opinion As to whether 2049 will hold up in the future I would say yes it will, but not to the same effect that the original has since its release. 2049 isn't as groundbreaking as the original was, but then again I don't think it tried to be.
Jeremiah Jackson
She clearly shows her independence, she even declares her intention to lie to Wallace. Her relationship with Wallace is almost as conflicting and "tense", included possibly sexually, then the one with K.
Brody Hall
>the borderline rape that's supposed to be 'love' It wasn't supposed to be love, it was just normal masculinity before it was labeled "toxic."
Every girl likes it when a man takes control.
Ian Reed
>borderline rape when a woman gets man-handled >being this much of an incel
Hudson Turner
>borderline rape Is not. Is a meme. Deckard is as confused and suffering as Rachel and they both seek comfort. The fact that she wants to hear first "put your hands on me" sets the issue. Really not even a /pol/tard or an incel, I am the first to mock them but this shit must end ASAP. Is bullshit, has no ground on the actual movie and is Glycine max overdose.
Somebody post the dancing Joi behind the scenes please

>Scott himself didn't like it When did he say that? The most I've heard is that he thought it was too long
Nicholas Lopez
Scott said it was too long because he acknowledged it contributed to kill revenue. With all the love for Hauer, from the interview is bias was obvious and I am not even sure he actually watched it. I still prefer the original but you cannot call scenes like this one or the K-Joi interaction soulless. It's bullshit. The fact that bombed means nothing. Is not an argument, it just shows we live in a post-MCU apocalypse for movies that are not full 100% arthouse or 100% capeshit retarded bullshit.
Ethan Evans
>The plot and worls is inconsistent with the original and arguably makes the happy ending canon >removing the noir elements You are genuinely retarded
Joseph Robinson
This is the dumbest shit I've read this week. Good bait
Juan Powell
He's meant to be robotic, he's caught up in the machinery of Bladerunning. Roy Batty and the others have only a little while to live, so they live twice as hard - more human than human.
Or maybe Harrison just is a hack. I liked his performance in the new one.
Elijah Howard
i get the spirit of what you're saying, but he just seemed completely uninterested and gave a sloppy acting job in the original even when he's supposed to be unable to resist rachel and filled with passion he sounds like he's on ambien he was way better in 2049
Justin Scott
Also the enhance enhance enhance scene. Which they did better in the new movie, several times
Oliver Hall
BR has no narrative after they kill their maker. It basically becomes a cat and mouse game in a building for the next act
Jace Ramirez
So are they lab made humans, or robots? If they are humans then why can they read their thoughts instantly on machines, and why does Roy Battys gf go haywire like a machine when she dies? Them being bio engineered humans would be much more dystopian so I'd like that more
Caleb Peterson
they're bionicles
Jose Hughes
I actually haven't seen it since I saw it in theaters. Been tempted to do a double feature of Blade Runner and 2049
Jacob Green
They're organic robots like Ash from Alien or David from Prometheus.
Aaron Parker
Could be Ridley's directing as well, I don't trust the sumbitch anymore. Harrison was great in the 'We were in hiding. We didnt want our child found' scene and when he says 'I know what's real'. Even in the endshot it seems he cares, which is a long time ago for that old fart
Owen Jones
Do it on a rainy Sunday and get cozy in the dystopian nightmare before working in your cubicle at MegaCorp the next day
Brayden Nguyen
They are clearly biological, as shown in the first movie. Which ironically makes them closer to the first inception robot as shown in the1920 science fiction play by the Czech writer Karel ÄŒapek,R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots). The play invented the word in the current sci-fi meaning and there the bots are biological. BTW, I maintain that a third blade runner should take R.U.R. and Metropolis and create a climax for the story out of them.
The thoughts are not read by the machines. The tests in both movies monitor their reactions, and the detection is of emotional responses. In the first movie, if you are a replicant your emotional response is low or off, and you are shot. In the second movie, a modern nexus must avoid to go too above an emotional baseline because otherwise it means is "humanizing" and will be terminated. The baseline test is just more advanced tech compared to the V-K.
Pris does not go haywire in the literal sense, she just does not die outright for that injury and kinda spergs. I think the similarity is a poetic license from Scott's part, if you notice she is constantly compared with human simulacra like dolls and simple automatons in her last scenes.
Ash and David are way more machine-like than replicants. Ash and David are more the replicants in the book I think.
Brody Reed
Good reply. However I meant by reading thoughts the machine this gal uses, to 'see' Joe's memories, while all he has to do is think about the memory. Just some future tech I gotta accept and move in?
Hello consumer-citizen Our system detected a 86.4% chance of sarcasm and potential dissatisfaction. Are we still a great team? You have 10 seconds to confirm before termination.
I think is a very advanced version of shit we have to guide cars with your brain or to see what animals or people see.

Good sci-fi that is brought down by having to tie itself with blade runner
Jaxson Bell

Is it worth seeing the voiceover version for comedy purposes?

Hudson Adams
I think you need a lot of collaboration from a specific individual to read a single memory. And at the end of the movie we discover that she is the "owner" so is not even sure she could have said that for ANY memory. Furthermore, the identification is a non-issue in 2049, they have barcodes under the eye. the stability is a emperor's new clothes problem but what you want to do, say to mr Wallace is he wrong and then starve? Nah.
Isaiah Gonzalez
Never mind that's all of them, fuck my life and fuck women

Kayden Green
I am confident the Rebellion in 2049 is taken from RUR and Metropolis, indeed. At least as a base concept.
Joshua Collins
This movie was complete fucking trash, the original was perfect and never needed a sequel. It's a soulless cashgrab which is only liked because it had a couple meme moments and pretty pictures, further proving Yea Forums is the most easily impressed and pleb board on all of Yea Forums

Stay mad retard. Perhaps start another whine thread like you did 24/7 for months.
Parker Barnes
>Post your opinion of the movie >NO NO YOU CAN'T POST NEGATIVE OPINIONS Why are you retards always like this? Also, for the record, I have never seen a single hate thread about this movie on this board, you retards have been sucking Villeneuve's dick for 2 years despite hating him previously
Cameron Hall
>the borderline rape that's supposed to be 'love' Have you never seen an old noir movie? If the protagonist was a gruff badass the love scene was usually preceded by him slapping her around until she didn't mind being kissed. Blade Runner was very much filmed as a sci-fi noir movie homage. Honestly though, Scott has just never been much of a director to give a shit about the actors or the script, he's always been much more interested in the execution and visual elements. If those human elements aren't baked into the script, or if the cast doesn't bring it themselves, you can't count on Scott to do it.
Kayden Hall
You are also a bad liar. But mainly fucking stupid. The thread spammed 24/7 were attempts at an hate thread but OP was BTFO over and over.

You didn't present anything to argue against, you dumb cunt. Saying a movie is "awful", "a soulless cash grab" and that you "fucking hate it" can't be argued against as you didn't mention anything in the actual film that you disliked. Leave this board brainlet and take your shit taste with you.
I'm gonna stop trying to reason with you, you need some help for your extreme case of schizophrenia

50% agree. I love this precisely for the visuals and "feel" alone. The story should not have had anything to do with the original and especially should not have included Deckard at all - at most a passing reference.
I've participated in some threads over the course of a few months but not much beyond that. Obviously you'll deny it anyways so I don't see why I should continue talking to you
Alexander Garcia
Even if I was review screw, I still would be right in calling the movie reddit as it was literally ReddĂt's favorite movie of 2017
Josiah Hughes
Bottom line: Its a shit movie that only low IQ lonely cumbrains enjoi
Gabriel Collins
I believe you, just find it weird that you actively go into threads about a film you have never liked to tell people you didn't like it. Just ignore/hide them.
Christopher Campbell
This is not going to work buddy.
Logan Reyes
Criticism is important; circlekerking is reddit, unfortunately criticism is hard for redditors to take so they refuse to engage in critical discussion and instead take criticism of a movie personally.
Luke Cruz
Excellent film, blows all the nostalgia sequels out of the water and it's easily one of the best kinos of the decade.
Well, I usually do but I just hate that people constantly call it better than the original. The original is my favorite movie of all time while BR2049 I didn't really like, so seeing people constantly praise it as being better hurts to me on a deep level. So I lash out at them.
Yours is not criticism, is just stale copypasta of inane statements. And it happens because you did not like the movies and became personally offended since every time you argued it you have been BTFO. I already told you, you are just a dumb person that thinks is smart.
Aiden Kelly
In what way?
Cameron Torres
We already knew you are a sad autist. Can't wait for Dune.
Jason Harris
Can't believe this shitstorm got resolved in a civil way
Brody Anderson
>We already knew you are a sad autist. Why do people like you constantly call any kind of love or passion towards something "autism"?
Landon Foster
>Yours Your samefag argument is stale.
Lincoln Reyes
Understandable user. The first one is also one of my favorites of all time, but I do enjoy the second one tremendously as well (albeit less than the first). Have a hug fren.
I wish these threads were more: >I love this movie >yeah me too >man I get such many feels from this movie >GGGGAAAAAAAAHHH DDAAAAAMMMMITT (in reply to picture of giant pink hologram) >such an amazing movie!
Jace Davis
Is not love or passion to hate a movie. If you were half of the decent person you think you are, you would contribute to the thread with BR1 related thing, since they are here. Instead, you just copypaste stale and void criticism stamming from your 100% emotional response.

Superb, thick atmosphere and ambiance. Beautiful sound design and outstanding scenery as well, you've got tremendous shots all throughout the film. Great story that has an easy to understand surface but deeper levels too for whoever wants to dig. I also personally loved the performances of the cast and some parts just stuck with me so, so beautifully hard - the baby sweet, K's lunch on the street, Sinatra's hologram, the holographic casino performance, K's ride with JOI into the orphanage, the statues, the final fight scene, among others. I just personally love this film and I heavily appreciate all the hard work that was put into it.

is this good user, I'm not sure what you're asking for
>most iconic piece of writing in the original Blade Runner was written by Rutger Hauer >most iconic piece of writing in Blade Runner 2049 was written by Ryan Gosling
And the lesson from this is: Hampton Fancher was and is a hack writer.
She's a decent enough actor, Fancher is not a decent enough writer, as evident by both BR films. Yes that wall line was a bit cheesy
Josiah Robinson
Bad delivery, therefore the second IMHO.
Carson Thomas
BR and BR2049 are the best movies to watch when the days start getting colder. Or in the middle of summer with the curtains shut and spritzing yourself with a water bottle to mimic the melancholic weather
Could watch this for hours on repeat. Absolutely based.
Dylan Lee
I kinda liked that he was meant to be human but was acting like an animatronic puppet, but the more it went on the worse it got with everything he said.
Henry Sanders
Resurrect David Bowie so he can play Wallace as it was originally intended by Villeneuve. That's it, a 10/10 film.
I absolutely loved this movie and I haven't seen a better movie since I saw 2049 in theatres.
Daniel Watson
She's so beautiful too, shame she's rocking the shaved head now. Looks 10x better with it long. Also wish she wasn't such a turbomodel persona aka edgy/degenerate/feminist.
If you stop focusing on everyones politics the world becomes a lot more interesting
Christopher Taylor
It's not the politics user, it's the persona. I just dislike degenerate women (take a look at her instagram) and venerate womanly, motherly ones.
Connor Barnes
I loved it
Nathan Garcia
I watched BR and BR2049 for the first time back to back, and I liked this first one better. All the time spent on scenery in BR2049 feels like a waste of time, it's all CGI. Action is better in the first one too. Whoever thought making the protagonist a robot who can't feel pain would make the action more exciting is retarded.
You faggots destroyed the 2049 threads and subsequently the rest of the board. Tumblr banning porn and Reddit and Twitter going after CP was the worst fucking thing that ever happened to this board and website in general.
I liked the shot with the dog looking at the spaceships leaving with his master, and then the fire morphing into the lights of the cityscape, while JOI looks down upon them.

Love this film, highly recommend everyone to see an open matte copy of the film if they get the chance. A lot of people argue that Deacons is god and can do no wrong but I disagree, this film is elevated heavily by removing those black bars and fully immersing you into the world. Also let's be real here, this ain't John Carpenter's Halloween, it's not like were gonna see a goofy mask or boom mic if you open the aspect ratio a couple inches.
When I saw it at the cinema it was almost empty apart from one older bloke who sat right next to me. He spent the first half an hour of the film crunching some incredibly loud snack, like he was eating sherbert lemons but just chewing on them instead of sucking. He also kept getting up and putting on his raincoat then taking it off again. In hindsight he was probably on drugs but fuck me that annoyed me.
>by removing those black bars There are no black bars if you watch it on a proper screen, as intended.
Gavin Martinez
That scene sucked. Why would one of them be stronger than the other? Why are they designed to drown? Why does Harrison Ford just slip out of his futuristic handcuffs underwater? The climax of the first movie is a masterpiece compared to this.
Intended version is Imax, if I traded my OLED for a projector I would still watch it in Open Matte. Even the editor for the film said that Imax was a "revelation" and really allows you to focus in on the actors and get lost in the dreamlike state that the film intends to convey.
That sweet spot between this film's release and all those homo pedos from pledit showing up after the MUH HORNY AND LONELY meme got spammed everywhere was the last time this shithole was worth a damn. Takes me back. I hope all you faggots get raped to death in the streets for shitting everything up.
>the dreamlike state that the film intends to convey Someone link the picrelated dream scene of the camera flying through the pink cityscape and K's personal Joi in place of the giant one turning around and smiling at the screen after the sex scene. Compare it to any nigger-tier smut scene and you'll have the biggest case of "soul vs. soulless" you could imagine
I believe that's why Sapper refused to be taken in for retirement and opted to fight back, they most likely would have been able to read his memories with a similar machine at Wallace HQ and find out what's he been up to all these years.
>Why would one of them be stronger than the other? Not all replicant models are the same. K is literally built to be a Blade Runner, which is killing other older models. Not to mention pleasure models >Why are they designed to drown? Because they are bio engineered human beings, not robots. They have lungs, not cogs and wirings inside. >Why does Harrison Ford just slip out of his futuristic handcuffs underwater? He literally doesn't, K breaks him off.
Easton Brooks
Initially, Denis Villeneuve was against the concept of a sequel to Blade Runner (1982), as he felt it could violate the original. However, after reading the script, which he and Harrison Ford have described as "one of the best" they had ever read, he committed to the project, stating that Ford was already involved at that point: "To be very honest with you, Harrison was part of the project before I arrived. He was attached to it right from the start with Ridley [Scott]. I met him and he's honestly one of the nicest human beings I've met and is one of my favorite actors of all time, so for me it's a lot of pleasure."
Brayden Perry
>watches The Boys Everything is explained, brainlet. Shit taste can't be fixed, enjoy the capegarbage.
Benjamin Perry
dishonest cinematography and videogame-like pacing.
Security and secrecy throughout the production were so high that the producers and filmmakers adopted various measures to prevent leaks to the public, such as limiting the amount of behind-the-scenes publicity, apart from an approved Omaze video. To prevent the ending from being leaked, it was communicated verbally, and not included in the scripts handed out to the actors. According to actor Lennie James, other security measures included such things as when actors being considered for supporting roles were given scripts, they were required to decide whether to accept within 36 hours; the scripts were incomplete, mostly the first 20 pages, and a random number of pages that included their characters (in James' case, he was shown the 20 pages after his last scene); once an actor accepted the offer, the full script was given; everyone was subject to a non-disclosure agreement, with heavy penalties for violation; actors were searched at entry points to the sets; cell phones and cameras were forbidden; for each shooting day, actors were required to sign on the sides for the day when given, and again when returning them, they were not allowed to keep the sides. Failure to return them would result in not being allowed to leave the set at the end of the day. Digital scripts could only be opened on one device, copy-protected, and were deleted automatically after a certain number of hours (in James' case it was nine hours after he completed filming his scenes).

>Why would one of them be stronger than the other? Why you don't come up with actual criticism
That threads were the best thing on the board before you fucking ESL spics migrated here. You dumb fucking mutt, you can't even follow along with what it is that's being picked apart about your faggotry. Fuck off and cry in one of your simp subreddits
Funny that the word mutt comes out of your mouth when you're a mouth breathing 1/57th "white" Amerimutt yourself. The edgy aryan with mommy problems on The Goys is so relatable isn't he? He's just like you, right?
Just kill yourself, you shit-for-brains faggot. Slit your wrists and drown in your AIDS-ridden blood. Nog literally couldn't even catch onto what was said in the first place.
Stop trying so hard with the insults you retard, you're making me cringe with that edge. It's simple, if you don't like the new 2049 threads or the new Yea Forums then stay off of them/it you pussy, there are enough whiny fags around here as it is.
Loved the fuck out of it. One of the absolute best Dolby experiences I've ever had and glad I got to see it twice in theatres. Incredibly pissed we'll never get a sequel.
Nathaniel Wood
I honestly thought that Leto being a douche with a messiah complex fit perfectly with his character. Wallace is a man who is an inch away from being god (near limitless power, can create life in his own image, raise the dead, etc) and It has gone to his head. This is not a man who is in touch with mere mortals anymore. I do wish however that they could have had David Bowie act the role as was originally intended.
Oliver Robinson
Those tables look ridiculous, why would so much space be wasted in this bustling public area.
Ian Morris
wallace was perfect
Carson Howard
It's a shitty restaurant/bar next to an escort place, not "public place"
Ryder James
I unironically like it much more than the first movie, it was a really immersive, atmospheric and sensorial experience. I am glad that I could watch it in a theater.
Douche with a messiah complex fits, but he just seems too young to me. It's 30 years after the original, and he's the guy who took over Tyrell Corporation after it fell on hard times following Tyrell's death? Leto was only in his mid 40s when the film came out. His character could have had work done and looked younger, or even been some sort of billionaire child prodigy, but it just isn't addressed and it distracts me.
>tfw those bitch ass theaters only had it in IMAX for 1 week and then replaced it with Geo Storm Still mad
Hunter Adams
Surrender.
Grayson Evans
That actually happened to me but with king of the monsters. Still mad about that one too because I still haven't seen it.
Owen Long
The soundtrack is definitely the weakest part of the new movie. If that was better the movie would have been almost perfect. It's too bad we won't get a third. The series now feels like it's from an alternate universe where movies like that get made, while in ours we get Marvel movies and Jurassic World 6.
>I wish these threads were more: Go back to plebbit then. They censor people who disagree with trannies like you.

Jacob Diaz
There was legitimately nothing in that post that warranted you to type this out. You should really re-evaluate your life and figure out where it all went down hill. When you were a little kid, you couldnt imagine making the world just a little more incrementally awful with each breath you take and yet here you are doing just that. Change yourself.
Carson Barnes
user did you start this thread cos BR2049 was on 9GO last night?
Elijah Foster
It sucked and so did Prometheus and Alien Covenant
Ayden Perry
I preferred Moon myself. Shit, can't believe it's 10 years old now.
My dad has a home theater and I brought the blu-ray when I visited a few weeks ago. With the sound dialed in and a 70 inch screen, holy shit it was great. Its on a very short list of films that get better every time you watch it.
William James
Wallace is overacted garbage, but everything else is kino.
