Nolan is a bad director who makes bad films. Dunkirk was shit. It had bad action, a story that wasn't compelling, no characterisation, was visually inconsistent and brushed over the horrors of war with a smooth pg-13 clean aesthetic.

you are mistaking pointing problems in nolan films and saying they are exclusive to him. They are not. His problem in the crowd scene you posted is that he wanted to film that shit in the middle of a city with a very tight schedule. That's where you can say Nolan was a tard.

He can't simply cut that scene and avoid the issues. Same with the stupidly choreographed one.

These problems are exclusive to him. He wrote a scene in which a group of unarmed cops attacked a group of armed mercenaries and didn't get mowed down. It doesn't matter who filmed it, that scene was always going to look stupid because he's a fucking hack.
A good director works with the choreography and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ADs to make sure the final product is good, not passable

Nolan has all of the cinematic sins of Stanley Kubrick, and none of his virtues.
