I made the mistake of tuning in for only the first couple seasons then coming back later and suddenly everything had changed. John joined the peacekeepers and was evil now for some reason. I tried to asking Yea Forums what happened but I never got an answer so I assume people don't want to talk about it, like maybe switch in his character was too sudden and/or never really developed properly.
