I'm not a German, just someone who actually reads diaries and firsthand accounts from all sides. Krauts had the most self control in the war because they were from a civilized country with strong ethics, the Soviets were literally shovelling uncivilized steppe nomads into the fires of war. Brits were almost as honorable, the Americans and French committed rape or entoced proatitution with food. The Japs were awful, maybe worse than the Reds, but it's a close call.
