He projected his paternal instinct onto him because he hated his own son.
did he ever make jesse breakfast
why didn't walt care about him ?
Jesse was his student, partner and only actual friend.
That being said if I was Walt, I would have had Jesse bumped off first chance I got. You can never trust a junkie.
t. gus
He was the son he always wanted
Cuz he gave him a watch
His real son was a pathetic loser gimp who wanted nothing to do with him from the start, Jessie was more like a son to him in all the important ways.
this and when he thinks they're building a robot are the two funniest things in the entire series
1. he is a narcissist and thoroughly enjoyed jesse giving him praise and respect for his work making meth. walter couldnt be open about his accomplishments, jesse was one of the few people who knew about it, and jesse gave him the respect that walt wanted
2. he was a replacement son, because walt jr was a cripple
3. jesse didnt give the praise too gratuitously, or walt would stop respecting him back, like what happened with gale
this
also Walt was able to easily manipulate Jesse and that made him feel powerful and in control
walt didn't really care about him, he just wanted to use him
lmao this
In 2019 walt jr would have been a tranny so it makes even more sense
Jesse is a good lad
I think it's the same episode
Walt had no power in his real life. Being able to control Jesse made him feel good.
He was the non-crippled son he always wanted
that's why when set for life he blew up everything to either car of peace the two dealers or try to send him away instead of straight killing him
Why did Jesse love that latina bitch so much? He ended up getting with her on day-1 despite her being a single mom who lives in a shithole neighborhood.
One of the major themes of the show is the burden of family which carries over to Better Call Saul. No matter how many times Jesse has fucked up, Walt could never kill him because he viewed him as family. Jesse was the true villain of the show.
I have an in depth analysis for anyone who's interested. Light spoilers

Because he wanted to discover the mystery of the gold in the streets, and felt like Jesse knew something. He also wanted to uncover the truth about that dog he said he killed. Sadly, these plot threads never went anywhere, perhaps they're saving them for the movie.
Why can't you type normal, frognigger? do you have down's?
Stay bootyblasted sweetheart
Answer the question, mongo.
Because he could trust him.
In the end, Jesse was the only person Walt trusted.
