That's not a Lilo & Stitch pic
lilo and stich is great but not a classic
unironically the only feminist movie that i like
but also the only feminist movie i can think about
>Feminist
The highest level of accomplishment a woman can achieve is emulating a man?
yeah i mean mulan is a wierd one. its definitely trying to give mulan power and agency but only does so once she becomes 'a man'. still kino though
Feminist nothing.
She had the highest score of any Disney character.
pretty much yeah
>Inb4 in the upcoming live action adaptation she is a lesbo, has a lesbian couple as parents and the huns are somehow all white and christian
It has the best song Disney ever made
>inb4 'ill make a man out of you' is reworded to become a tranny anthem
Tarzan was better although Mulan is pretty high up
IT'S TIME TO
SUCK A MAN'S PENIS
SO WE CAN DRINK
HIS CUM
A GIRL WORTH FIGHTING FOR
she should have become the emperor's advisor
>feminist
enough with that shit
Its just about a girl who's father is too old to fight in a war so she risks her life to keep her father safe.
not once is there any indication that shes like
>i am woman, hear me roar
or
>we're so oppressed!!1!
she does what she has to do, then just goes home.
it follows pretty closely with the Hua Mulan legend
It's because she doesn't emulate man that she passes the Arrow test.
Mulan uses her own way of doing thing plus the general skills she learns in the army to save China, notice how at the end of the movie, when and the man are working together, Be A Man has an added female voice to the choir (it's subtle but it's there).
Also, obviously, there is the cross-dressing and use of non-conventional strategies used to save the Emperor.
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nah, the original story isn't feminist at all but the movie obviously had some moments.
name one (1)
i want to drink the entire pond mulan bathed in
i can think of 1 moment during the girl worth fighting for song where she sings
>how bout a girl who has a brain, and always speaks her mind?
but thats not so much feminism as its just a humor point
this is unironically a good movie
music is great
and the villain is based
you CANNOT refute this
inb4
>muh black characters
it was pretty good but i think it will always be overshadowed by the classics of the late 90s and early 2000s that propelled disney into the top
As soon as the characters get lost in the swamp, the movie lost all steam.
seriously?
youtube.com
they didn't beat you over the head with it but it was there
well, yeah.
Aladdin is prob my favorite Disney movie, and i was pissed that they had it in "the vault" for so long. only to come out of the vault when the remake came out, honestly the only good thing to come out of that shit remake
I never saw it because it was well after my time, but I always figured it was the zoomers swan princess (and therefor incredibly based)
Nobody has anything against blacks being in movies that happen in black places (like new orleans).
>i dont wanna dishonor my family, buti'm not like these other women, and in this day and age, i cant be anything else than like these other women
>feminism
nah
take a break from Yea Forums if you honestly think Mulan is feministic or even has feministic tones
Which is so odd because her father was a veteran and an old man, he would have been an officer of some sort, not an infantry grunt.
>i cant be anything else than like these other women
I mean...thats textbook feminism but I agree that mulan never focused on the subject, it was merely mentioned.
thats something i never thought about desu, esp since he's famous from his military past. looking past the fact that its a movie, i guess maybe if he showed up for war they would have put him into a higher position but since his 'son' did they had to start him from the bottom
i would imagine he probably still wouldve died.
the military was desperate for people to fight, and the huns were pillaging anything in their path.
yeah definitely. the training camp for mulan and the other new recruits was probably over a span of like 2-3 weeks? impossibly short to get them properly trained but i also cant see an invading hun army taking months going into the heart of china without being fucked by logistics so if mulans dad went through his crippled ass would likely have been sped through a nonsense trainging regiment just to die
they were in training camp for several months. it was summer when she joined the army and it was winter when she wiped the huns.
oh shit good point. i guess the huns did take their time since the country is so large. i guess mulans dad would still have been fucked since no amount of training would have healed his knee
the huns invaded during winter too so they were roaming around for a year at least, China is fucking huge.
checked. i was more speaking to the film events and the huns seemed to have invaded in wamrer months in the opening scene. but yeah im sure it would take years and maybe even deces to conquer land mass the size fo china in ancient times
wasn't that just on a mountain? i dont recall seeing any snow or anyone dressed for cold during the final scenes
and plus, when she gets home, its still appears to be summer
spring can look a lot like summer, cherry blossom trees only bloom for a couple of months a year
how? 2 of the best songs in the movie is in the swamp area
Based, L&S is also my favourite
true. but she also went straight from the mountains to the empire or whatever it is.
and in the beginning the cherry blossoms have bloomed completely, and they are as well in the end.
although, now that i think of it, towards the end of "a girl worth fighting for" its snowy, and the decimated village is also snowy.
so maybe the entire movie was a in just the span of a year
>a girl worth fightin-
This shit put me to sleep, holy shit it was boring.
