>unreadable novels

heroin...lmao

watched this fucker three times. It is very entertaining. Cronenberg did a great job. But it really should have been a miniseries. There is a lot more insane material in the book.

A 100% true to the novel Dracula. It would be a boring expo dump for the majority of the movie.

Attached: CormacMcCarthy_BloodMeridian[1].jpg (229x350, 31K)

why? I read it and I got bored by the half

exactly, it would be about 4 hours long and bore the shit out of people like you

the movie sucked
althought it's much better than anything in Cronenberg's shitty 80s run

It can be adapted but not very well. Blood Meridian is very descriptive and poetic with its descriptions and details. You can't translate that to film.

You misspelled unreadable.
Burroughs is garbage.

this isn't unfilmable. i'd just like to see it.

All attempts have failed. And I don't mean because some retards missed the point and turned it into generic capeshit, I mean how they fail to convey the style and the color palette

Anything that is good. If it was meant to be a book then that is the medium it should be in. Same goes for any kind of art. Try making a film about The Thinker, for example.

Why post a picture of yourself?

Its descriptions are descriptive?

The movie was pretty good you fag contrarian.

Sure it is you pajeet snyder fanboy

This guy gets it

cringe

Go watch capeshit you retard

Whoops.

I can't imagine being this level of pleb

insecure pleb detected

Movies can and have been made about literally anything. The Thinker is nothing more than a product of Rodin's inner thoughts and feelings, and movies are a good medium it comes to conveying these things.

But that's his best period you slut

It's still only a small part of the book

Holy shit in how many movies Anthony Quinn and Irene Papes have been in together

>Go watch capeshit you retard

Attached: download.jpg (945x731, 43K)

Damn. I'd want to see that.
"Well just one more day in Interzone, here's that mugwump again on the machine"

You misunderstand me. The purpose of an adaption at it's core is to change the nature of an artwork. If a book is good it does not need to be changed and so an adaption is only ever reductive to the work.

with a mere flourish of a rusty sardine can lid I could remove your pecker and balls & make a real legitimate cunt outta ya

Your funny pictures don't hurt me
Find an argument I challenge you

If you don't think that Crash and his 2010s movies aren't his best works you MUST return to a certain site that starts with r and ends with t where you can freely discuss le epic 80s and their shitty practical effects

>that pic
A film is never a simple imitation of nature. It's an interpretation that will always be subjective.

I agree, but the significance of his speech holds power in the idea he can so assuredly make the claim to begin with. He believes and so has passion, whether he is right or wrong is irrelevant before those things. And I think that is art, in a way.

Attached: 1558922865228.jpg (502x480, 33K)

His 2010's movies are nothing more than pseud bullshit, aside from History of Violence, and that Freud movie was not bad.

I think your man-bun is cutting off the circulation to your brain, basedcuck.

The ending would probably be controversial even now.

Meanwhile Psycho was based off a book, and did it WAY better than the book could dream of.

Sometimes adaptations refine a form of art—each individual artists interpretation chiseling the art to perfection.

I think this has to be the winner. Reading it right now and there's no way you could make a movie or even a series the average person could keep up with out of it.

haven't seen the movie
what did they fuck up?

>History of Violence
>His 2010's movies

Actually no, I believe this is highly filmable
HOWEVER, pic related?

the blood in your system has no brain to go to 80s loving cuck-o

I see you that and raise you

Because the book was no good. I said, good books. Certainly one can find gold in garbage, but what is the purpose of turning gold into gold?

On a sidenote, has any of you read his "Consumed" book?

Are you insinuating it would be impossible to convey the style and colour palette? That's like the easiest thing to do. Snyder just likes his shit in that murky bloom slo-mo style he does.

The hard part about adapting Watchmen is working in all of the extra world building, like the snippets from Hollis Mason's biography, or Rorschach's psychological records, and not making it five hours long.

Doctor Benway's story about a guy who could talk out of his anus until the anus took full control could be a cool animated short

I did. It's a mess, you can clearly see that it used to be a script that he couldn't film so he just novelized it, but story and characters were really meh anyway. I remember it was full of detailed descriptions of camera equipment.

I read the synopsis on wikipedia and it sounds pretty tame and good, why is it controversial?

m.youtube.com/watch?v=F3kz4AUHe1M

I never got around to finishing it, but I don't see why it wouldn't be doable, unless it gets really crazy at the end. It would be visually stunning too.

I know it's not impossible, but Snyder and this retard that's doing the tv shown now think that only way to do Watchmen is if you film it in total darkness, add some shades of blue, bright yellow for the logo and that's it.

I can think of at least two things wrong with that title

Attached: 304570.jpg (640x480, 47K)

I had the exact same thought in mind, it really felt like a movie that got discarded

Why are you writing like a fag?

Based Pynchon poster

Attached: 81Vxa7Ta++L.jpg (1650x2538, 357K)

I mean it's doable, but considering that it would make no profit and that it would require a lot of fucking money to be made at that, it's practically impossible to do
Maybe if it was the 70s

Why are you writing to a fag? You gay or something?

They actually had a Lord of Light adaptation in the works, and commissioned Jack Kirby to draw some concept art. They wanted to make a theme park too.

How are you so good at spotting fags? Are you one thyself?

this is my favorite title of all time
