Phantasm movies
This.
John Carpenter movies

Nice taste.
Creepshow would be my pick for Halloween night.

For me it's Trick R Treat, original Halloween and Hocus Pocus

Aside from that I try to watch a horror movie a day. Usually I try and go for things I haven't seen but sometimes I just watch something really good

Watch any classics? Something maybe in black and white?

For me, it’s Fright Night, Monster Squad, and Hammer’s Dracula

Casper (1995)

I don't watch a lot of pre-70s stuff but Psycho holds up really well (aside from that weird bit at the end where the cop goes on a 6 minute explanation of Norman's tranny psychosis,) The Quatermass Xperiment is really underrated, not straight "horror" horror but it has pretty great atmosphere you can see why John Carpenter found it influential.

I could definitely throw some Twilight Zone episodes in there too. The After Hours I think is really creepy.

Never heard of The Quatermass Xperiment. Looks neat.
When I watch these older movies, especially ones filmed pre-70's, I feel like they are best enjoyed with some homemade popcorn and a glass bottled coke. I like to imagine I am watching the movie as if I am in the year it was released. So cozy.

The old disney channel movies from the late 90s and early 2000s were the highest order or comfy as a kid.

Jay Parker talks about this giving insight into his Druidic cult bloodline

>not including Hocus Pocus
nice.

I'm dedicating myself to re-watching all the old Universal horror movies this year and I'm not waiting. I'm watching Frankenstein tonight.

I don't go that far but they are definitely improved by letting yourself be taken by the atmosphere.

For similar reasons I do enjoy watching a few horror movies on VHS each october. Last year was The Last Broadcast and a horror anime OVA (i forget if it was Wicked City or Demon City Shinjuku.) This year I think it'll be The Blob (80s remake) and maybe In the Mouth of Madness.

Halloween 1, The Guest, and Trick R Treat

>The Guest
Underrated pick for halloween

>the guest
Yeah, buddy.

Dude I'm still going to the beach every day. October what?

It's just a couple of weeks away, bud.

I watch hundreds of horror movies every year. Halloween is never any different.

every year for me it's the kino Carpenter and Hooper movies including Body Bags, Tales From the Crypt, Trick 'r Treat, Return of the Living Dead, The Guest, House of 1000 Corpses (just for the 70s ween nostalgia vibes which it does very well)

*outcomfies your comfy kino*

I thought that fright night was really stupid and boring. I actually cringed

How did Spider-Man make a movie 10 years before he was born

Halloween is the most reddit holiday

rip your dicks offs, mates.

Unnecessary and rudepilled

Halloween and Candyman.

>Friday the 13th 1-4
>Halloween 1-3
>Night, Dawn, Day, and Land of the Dead
>Return of the Living Dead
>Cinemassacre Monster Madness
>Joe Bob's Last Drive-In season from earlier this year

Speaking of which, is there a torrent up for the most recent season of Last Drive-In? I want to get those before Shudder starts losing the rights to stream those, and IP Torrents only has up to the Christmas Phantasm marathon.

A man of culture.

It's heavily hinted that S2 is starting around Halloween. Can't wait for those comfy threads to start again.

I have some Godzilla films on dvd that I've been meaning to rewatch, so I guess I'll go with that.

Any else think that Monster Madness is James' most comfy series?

I certainly think so. It's certainly up there with the best of AVGN.

I can no longer look at this poster the same way after the user a year ago talked about fapping to it when he was home alone.
It makes it even more horrifying

I did a complete Godzilla-thon in the months leading up to KotM, including everything Toho has done, '98, and the Legendary movies, so I'm a little burned out on Godzilla atm.

watch KOTM and Trick r Treat, have a Mike Dougherty marathon

I'm gonna rewatch the evil dead trilogy as the lord intended. In fact I'm already prepping for it by finally watching Ash vs Evil Dead. Shit's comfy af.

the remake is worth watching too if im being super honest

Already watched it. I don't rewatch it for Halloween tho because of tradition but yeah, it's definitely a good movie and worthy of being in the evil dead saga. Sucks that we'll never get that Ash and Mia crossover.

If they ever tried to revive Ash vs Evil Dead they could totally do an Army Of Darkness plot that's also a crossover.

Bruce Campbell said he retired as Ash. While it's possible that he changes his mind sometime in the future, the best possibility we got is that Ash vs Evil Dead s04 MC could be Mia.

I get why he'd want to but I can see him going back one more time and passing the torch a little bit more officially at least for a more glorified cameo than the end of Evil Dead 2013

>starting on october 4 a small theatre in the city will be playing classic horrors ever week
>october 4: the exorcist
>october 11: rosemary’s baby
>october 18: Texas chainsaw massacre
>october 25: a nightmare on elm street
>october 31: the evil dead

Halloween’s gonna be fun this year
