is this series good? both the old one and the new one? im interested in its setting and characters but im hoping the threads about it isnt just Yea Forums being bored now that game of thrones is over

It's fantastic, it is saved by its uniqueness. Even if you end up not liking it, there's really nothing else like it.

The movie is undeniably a classic, if you enjoy fantasy and haven't seen it go watch it right now.
The series is a bit lower quality, and feels more like a tv show than a fantasy adventure, a problem of the medium. The fights are also a little anticlimactic, but if you are the kind of person who can enjoy theater you'll probably like it.

They're good. The show is better than the movie if you're just getting into them now. Both have generic parts and are kind of uneven but it's a nice fantasy setting to chill out in.

In what sense? Because the plot of the movie was terrible and so was the main character. Everything else was great though.

What? It's a classic fantasy plot. That's the point of it: it's a familiar plot with a familiar protagonist in a strange world.
By lower quality, I was mostly talking about cgi being used for objects that could have been props if they had the cash.
