lol
I unironically like this shitty trope.
>imagine that is pen is my penis
>and this paper
>*folds paper in half*
>is your moms pussy
>"in english doc"
>pen through folded paper
Every time.
shitty overrated movie
>Overrated
it's barely known how can it be overrated
even if its shitty i still love it
but the movie is actually good. the atmosphere and sets are nice.
quite a few movies do this
I know right? It's really an atmospheric, bone chilling slow burn
kys
The important thing is that you fed him some attention.
I really dont see what people hate about this movie.
it has a good cast, good music, good sets, good story.
I know they cut out a lot of gore but despite that the movie is still good.
>black hole
I thought it was a portal to hell
been too long since I watched this
it was a gateway to the next star system proxima centauri
it's literally jumpscares: the movie
DO YOU SEE
DO
YOU
SEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I thought that was their theory. In practice it openend a dimensional portal to somewhere resembling hell which made people go insane?
Black holes?
In Jurassic Park?
Now that's chaos.
Apparently it's theoretically somewhat accurate, though.
why didn't they just send the ship without crew and fully automated to test the new portal opening system?
Say hello to Australia's flag in 2047
Then we wouldn't have a movie would we
>only surviving original cut of the movie was found lost in a Transylvanian salt mine completely destroyed and unusable because of the exposure
Fucking lol. Literally HOW does something like that even happen?
zoom zoom
you want something hot and black inside you? well how bout some coffee then?
sadly we will never see the original cut
That was a worm hole
>>...and THAT's how a black hole works!
I hate that shitty trope. I only like it in this movie, because is used as "explanation for literal retards"
Can we get a list of how many movies have done this? Off the top of my head I know it's in Event Horizon and Sphere
I feel like it's all of them.
It was literally The Warp from W40K.
All movies?
Literally all movies?
Even Babe: Pig in the city?
they go to where IT is from
Other that this one I can only think of deja vu with denzel washington
"It's a wormhole, a concept that in this future year of 2050 should be very well known, especially to people who are your regular astronauts"
IN ENGLISH DOC, YOU CALL THAT "LAYMAN'S TERMS"???
>theoretically accurate
Some egg head says so so it must be true right?
We dont even know how gravity works but someone tells you that space and time are the same thing and that it's easier to fold the universe in half than drive across it and you eat that shit up like its cereal. Fuck me what a cumbrain.
What else do you swallow from scientists? Quantum computing? Billions spent, fuck even computers being sold, but never once actually shown to work. Whoops!
AI? Give break please.
CO2 causes climate change? Look at absorbtion spectra for co2 vs water vapour and give your head a shake.
Entangled particles are capable of true superposition, oh, yeah, they are ABSOLUTELY in both states physically until you measure them, and its definitely not just that they are a static pair. Also ahem fuck bells inequality.
especially that
no I mean all movies with a wormhole thing
take your meds
>Some egg head says so so it must be true right?
I'm inclined to put more stock in some egghead's say-so than your baseless skepticism, friend.
prentending to be retarded still makes yiu retarded
you forgot the other Jewish lies.
Like gravitational waves, Black holes (they are actually plasmoids), sun running on fusion, higgs boson, cern, the LIGO
all Jewish scams.
are you ok?
Nope. Event Horizon is not a permavirgin. 40k is so permavirgin that even people who speak its name become incels.
Another american pastime. You know in the rest of the developed world having an opinion and disagreeing with someone isnt takes as evidence of a mental breakdown and also medical care isnt an industry for profiteering. Neither is prison.
Pick anything I said and I'll debate you on it. But you wont because your a pussy.
Just look at the (((guys))) that got the Nobel Prize in 2017 for the LIGO shit.
really trustworthy jewish faces.
How many tropes does this scene alone have?
>folds paper and pushes pencil through it
>in english doc!
>I designed it
That's a wormhole/einstein rosen bridge though lol
like would you believe whatever (((they))) discover?
if you do you are literally as dumb as the retards that watch CNN and believe every word.
Why wouldn't they need eyes?
this was the most subtle and funniest part of the movie
go back to the basement, Mulder
dudes, we have never seen an electron!!! OMG stop everything!!! AHHHH
Come ahead if you think you are solid.
Find me one single experiment, not that has even been done, just that has been proposed, that shows spacetime folding allows FTL travel. I'll wait because it doesnt exist. It's fantastic speculation by money grubbing physicists who realise all the rock solid stuff that is tangeable and makes sense was figured out hundreds of years ago by a fag who liked apples.
Scientists right now are trying to detect gravity waves spending millions of tax money on it. Waste of time because what does it prove? How does a wave, of unknown and as yet unknowable composition, manifest to attract objects together? Answer is it cant, it's a wave. Literally thousands of scientists spending decade looking to detect this gravity wave, and what will it tell them? Nothing. Money down the toilet.
Maybe they already had. Maybe only living things can experience the Hell aspects.
This.
>overrated
I don't think that's even possible. this movie's reception was incredibly bad. it's either rated appropriately or underrated.
Here's some other tropes:
>a camera points directly at actor!
>Movie has sound!
>a man explaining something!
ugh, im just sick of it! ugggh!!!
>It's fantastic speculation by money grubbing physicists
>money grubbing physicists
>he thinks scientists are in it for the money
I bet you live in some backwater flyover shithole and you doubt the theories of better educated people because you've got no control over anything in your life except what you choose to believe
life, uh, finds a way, user
This is the thing i dislike about schizos, when they always call into question EVERYthing and quickly jump from topic to topic/lump completely unrelated subjects together
If their brains were healthy they could be a good addition to the truther movement but as it stands they're basically just shitposting mentally
Based
You dont know how right you are, when the bohr model was proven experimentally it opened up a huge horizon of knowledge about atomic level interaction not just in physics but chemistry too.
What physicists do now is equivalent, stumble around in the dark trying to jump steps ahead with no firm footing.
>guy explains scientific explanation for thing
>easily understood, makes sense
>"now do it in english"
I'm a brainlet am usually surprised they need to explain these things for people somehow stupider than me.
Imagine being this zoom
The insidious lord blehcula stole it from the movie and deposited it there to deprive us of true kino
I can't
they rarely give an actual comprehensive explanation, at best they just give you a tl;dr of the hypothesis.
do you.. user. do you think everything proposed in a scifi movie is something the film-makers are saying is Real Science? why would there be an experiment showing FTL travel via wormholes is possible? It's just one solution to einstein's equations that sci-fi writers latched on to half a century ago because it's cool.
>it can't, it's a wave
oh god
Thank god the comedy relief black guy made it, the movie would have been too grimdark had he died.
Actually I was a university research associate. I know exactly what goes on, research is adjusted to fit available funding. Nobody wants to fund research into boring foundation work to be built upon, they want quantum computers, AI and machine learning systems, never mind that its unsuitable for task and doesnt work, it sounds good so it's worth money. Problem is it's not, its worthless.
These subjects aren't unrelated these are projects I have been involved in where research topics and outcomes were regularly altered to fit funding criteria.
back in the years when event horizon was released, a black man making it to the end of a movie alive was basically a shyamalan-tier twist
I only responded to an user saying he thought it was based on science. It's something I regularly see demonstrated at e.g. science museums and university open days and it makes me sick lol.
The point about waves is detecting them doesnt show how they cause interaction between two objects. That would be worthy of investigation.
>Actually I was a university research associate
yeah I've had that dream too
keep taking your meds user
Clearly he survived due to the forces of hell being unable to exploit any personal trauma he had.
It's not a concern to believe me but you investigate the points I made and learn for yourself the truth.
it's ok buddy I play make believe too sometimes. It helps with taking our minds off reality :)
b-but that's just a pencil and paper. you could explain anything with that if you just wrote is down.
but that's just a theory....
because in space, no one can hear you scream
So why didn't you play along instead of acting butthurt?
Die thot
>this fucking retard doesnt know scientists campaign 24/7 for funding and are just as capable and prone to money laundering as anyone else
>doesnt understand science is the religion of the age and he feel for fucking propaganda
i thought gravi-waves didn't really do anything. i thought the thing they detected was these spinning black holes that were spinning so fast that the variation of the attractive force due to the variation in distance could be measured through their relativistic effects of two orthogonal beams of light.
i don't really know anything about this beyond the surface level but i was under the impression that these so-called gravitational waves were not a new phenomenon, but just something that we hadn't had the chance to observe in the wild yet. an that's what all the fuss was about.
A regular Joe uses paper to record his ideas
A true savant destroys that paper in a one time explanation, leaving others that find the remains of the paper curious as to what transpired.
>offers no rebuttal only mindless condescension
Not that user, but youre the worst type of pathetic faggot and I know for a fact you would never tell anyone to take their meds in person because youre likely a frail little faggot who has to get the experience of being tough online because his life with his tiny dick is so unfulfilled. Kys
>its like 40k!!!
underrated
t. Woman
Interstellar did it too.
The Gravity Drive in Event Horizon uses the power of a miniature black hole to fold space, then generates an artificial singularity to cross from Point A to Point B.
kek
>questioning everything bad
>making connections bad
>learning bad
Good goy
Name 3 movies that do this. You guys have Mandela effect going on and think this occurs more often than it actually has.
This might or might not be bait but it actually is somewhat true. People instantly believe the shit "scientists" spout when in reality they know very little. Stuff we supposedly know changes every time. Half of the shit I heard in school and read in encyclopedias when I was a kid is now false and I'm not even 30.
Event Horizon, Deja Vu, Interstellar
BTFO in less than 3 minutes by top keks
>best w40k/doom movie to date
>goat gore scene
>so interesting people are still talking about it 22 years later
>box office flop and 300mil+ budget cult classic
It's nowhere near shitty or over rated stupid tvtropes fag
someone sounds mad lol
For real though why are Americans obsessed with black dick?
