This store has weird ideas about which movies are worth putting theft protectors on. OK, I get Endgame, Alita and Shazam!, but who thought Ocean's 8 and Jurasic World would be a hot theft item?
(The top shelf has about ten DVDs of each movie, except the Prince Charming one.)
It would make sense to discount Jurasic World and Ocean's 8 just to clear shelf space by now, but do some distributors ban stores from discounting their movies?
yes. it's one of the key tenents of jewish control Jews control publishing and distribution. they will not allow ANY product that they disagree with to be even seen by a consumer

Blu-ray and DVD cover are different, and the 4K and steel book covers are also different. These are the Nordic ones (Sweden etc.)
It makes sense that the steel book has a different cover, because it's typically a limited and "cleaner" looking cover. Having different covers for the DVD, 4K and regular BD sounds like a bit of an extravagance, but it at least makes it easier to tell them apart.

the steel book ones are a way to upcharge for "collectors". >see? its different! exclusive!

The Nordic steelbook doesn't look nearly as interesting as the American one - unless they're just showing the card covering here.
I’m a bit disappointed that us Norks don’t get any 3D releases, but I guess the stores know that nearly nobody has a 3D TV or 3D projector here. Normally I wouldn’t care, but Alita was shot in 3D and when the release was first announced they actually did list a 3D Blu-ray. The steelbook sold out in pre-order, but it doesn’t contain 3D either.

American steelbook for comparison. I would have bought this one - but I'm going to pass on the European one.
>do some distributors ban stores from discounting their movies? yes, some have certain contracts and rebates where they most likely have to do it for all distributors (to not show favoritism) and they all keep it at a certain price to show that it's a valuable, desirable item rather than some cheap shit.

I worked at a Hastings for a few years. We boxed up new stuff and porno, but we also boxed up every rap album and "hood fights". Didn't stop people from just trying to bust them open. Then they would scream at you and call you racist if you caught them.

They have the exact same covers in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. The actual Blu-ray might even be identical to even more countries.

There's something very ghetto about stealing physical records rather than just pirating it. Were they going to re-sell, or were they just so hungry for poetry?

Yes but I can tell from the text on the bin in the background.
