Not retro
was that actually low budget? I'm pretty sure it was made by universal
Sure
Watched I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958) the other day, it's pretty based
Yes it is
That wasn't low budget. The fucking river scenes were shot on a fully constructed replica of the amazon
You must be new. This board is for spamming capeshit, flavor of the year shows, and memes.
>universal monsters
>low budget
They had massive budgets incomparable with the rest of horrors from that era. That's why they stand out. They were something we would call blockbusters.
Kino
Did people actually like movies like this or did most leave after the A-film ended?
Better than the remake
They're fun movies with cute girls. I'm sure people liked them in the 50s
Anything by Don Dohler.
Dagon
Screamers
Humanoids from the Deep
I need to rewatch The Fly one of these days.
It’s known to be a bad movie with bad acting, but ya know...dumb fun. I watched parts of it while playing destroy all humans, which literally has the whole movie along with plan 9 from outer space.
The Crawling Eye is one of my favorites, and Robot Monster, and I remember liking The Atomic Brain, which I haven't seen in a while though, and a friend recently it watched and hated it. Brain From Planet Arous was also great, and The City of the Dead, which is probably higher end than the rest of those. I'll happily watch any 50s/early 60s sci-fi
This one’s so low-budget that it makes Carnosaur look like Jurassic Park.
Looks comfy
MST3K really got me into this stuff. I genuinely enjoy The Horror of Party Beach for example
I watched The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms recently. It was kino
