orange fool

Essentially too imperialistic.

I want some 7 years war kino

Have it start with Washington allowing the French to be scalped, then ending it with him looking shocked at a tax increase request for the war he started.

too aesthetic for filth-loving heebs

Too “smart” for shit eating capeshit watchers

because nobody outside the US cares about your "history"

do you think he does kinky shit larping as a colonial guy

IM FRUSTRATED

Be careful what you wish for. Hollywood is not at all above making a historical film blatantly inaccurate to subvert expectations. This is how you get a revolutionary war flick where Betsy Ross is the true mastermind of the colonies.

Too expensive and not interesting enough for modern audiences.

was pretty good at least

The only time period anyone cares about is medieval Europe and usually that's only fantasy versions of medieval Europe

18th century films would be kino but not if set in North America
With the exception of the American revolution, North America in the 18th century is pretty dull
Some James Cook-esque exploration, the great northern war , or Western European political intrigue would be kino though
Could even do some kind of ‘wolf of wall street’ type movie about John Blunt and the south seas company

1619-1781 is unquestionably the most kino period in history.

>Dull
>Stuff happening pretty much everywhere at every moment
>Slave-raiding kingdom rivalries in West Africa
>Collapse of the Mughals; Maratha intrigue
>Likewise, Clive and the origins of the Raj
>Tay Son rebellion in Indochina and Gia Long
>Nadir Shah
>Cook, Polynesia, and Kamehameha beginning his unification wars for Hawai'i
>Various frontier conflicts in North America; lots of Native American tribes/nations/groups
>Piracy and privateering on the high seas (even if "Golden age of Piracy" ends by the century's beginning)
And that's not even counting the more obvious major conflicts
Face it, the 18th century was KINO

boring century
too white

Americans don't care about it except their dumb little revolution. You really think you could get a Great Northern War film off the ground? The Hollywood Jews would be all "that's great, but what if it was about George Washington?"

FUCKING Americans

>dumb little revolution
Still mad

It doesn't sell enough movie tickets. Same thing happens with sci-fi (see blade runner) and the pirate genre.

The irony here being that the vast majority of the battles weren't won in open conflict until the French, Dutch, Spanish, Mysorians, Native Americans and Russians had basically ended all hope of the British getting enough supplies over to America. Let us not forget that even during the Revolution the Revolutionary Army nearly outnumbered the British army in the world even at its height. So the meme about Revolutionaries being this poor little country all on their own against a big empire is false as France and Spain were the great empires at the time (who coinkydinky contributed around 100,000 troops to the war). Hell, even the fucking Poles did.

Remove France, Spain and Netherlands and the USA loses.

i think this is true but also very stupid. you can easily create interest in a genre if you actually make a good movie

>haha jokes on you, actually the whole world hates us

Marquis de Lafayette deserves a biopic

Attached: Lafayette.png (1206x1700, 1.53M)

It needs the miniseries/tv setting. The John Adams series was pretty good (though obviously not 100% accurate because they needed John Adams to be literally fucking everywhere) but I think they could definitely have a proper historical series with a large cast these days.

There's plenty of players that would be interesting to a general audience if done well enough.

If the Chernobyl miniseries can make Boris Shcherbina an endearing character I'm sure people like Israel Putnam and Joseph Brant wouldn't be hard to pull off.

>So the meme about Revolutionaries being this poor little country
Nobody who paid attention in school actually believes that.

The british were stupid though.

Who will play him in the inevitable biopic?

Who will play him in the inevitable biopic?

Imagine being this insecure about politics that a historical LARPer with a passion for 18th century life triggers you by making a period-specific drink because it may be vaguely unintentionally related to current politics on the faintest of connections if you try super hard to get offended.

I think technically it's townsend's fault for not knowing the average IQ on the internet is room temp.

Taboo is kinda decent if you like the main character(Tom Hardy) being a gary-stu. Also since it takes place in London, be sure to have subtitles.

please don't sprinkle nutmeg on my post

This. I would extend this out to 1840s... just prior to the civil war and including the War of 1812. You add a lot of American Frontier shit to go with all the action in the Atlantic

>People of color good, Anglos bad
>Native American religion true, Christianity false

Attached: Soy reddit.png (594x582, 41K)

the same reason whycthede hasnf been a good civil war movie in a while. because reenactors are retards

As long as white people can be portrayed as the most evil entity that has ever existed, it can be filmed

Just throw in a few slavery related carrots and a black main character and you’ll get plenty of Jewish ducks erect

Miniseries are good for stuff like this. Get big battle scenes like the Patriot and do a French and Indian War series about the Battle of Quebec, or about Robert Rogers and his rangers. You better believe people would watch the second one.

There's not enough white people left in North America to make a 18th century movie. And there's not enough men left in Europe to make one there.

>bootlicking the goverment at the slightest hint of "dont tread"

Wrong. See

Rent free. Cope, libcuck.

what's the difference between internal v. external taxation you meme-repeating virgin freak?

17th century films would be better
really want to see a miniseries based around King Philip's War

>Townsend
Based and comfypilled

People don't give a shit, everything before the French revolution is just "muh middle ages" for most people and people are too bitchmade today to handle the themes that were important at that time.
>tfw no seven years war series
>tfw no great norther war series
>tfw no series following Peter the Great
>tfw no movie about the slow collapse of the mughals
>tfw no french revolution movie that is not muh terror muh poor king muh democracy shit
>tfw no good productions about the HRE ever except protestant propaganda about Luther

I swear you can easily deduce a cocksucker frequents Yea Forums by looking at this subscriptions these days mine included

there's a catherine the great show coming but will probably be shit

Yeah, his videos are nice. Great Depression Cooking is also good.

the guy is completely innocent and genuine, literally his only passion in life is 18th century culture and reenactment, and he's never posted any opinions or thoughts on current day politics on the internet. It's not his fault by a longshot. The guy's channel is bona fide PBS-style kino.

>inb4 triggered libtard REEEES about orange fo-
oh look it's the first post.

inb4 the triggered libtard tries to paint a false narrative of "muh angry drumpf supporters"

Trump supporters were the ones initially triggered by it. It was so bad he had to make a follow up video

Oh look, he's spreading that retarded lie again. What a shocker.
