This is a completely hollow soulless machine to drive merchandise sales. It has less depth than Disney's own animated films. The script is a nonsensical contradicting low-IQ mess. The cinematic presentation is non-existant. This is blockbuster cinema at its lowest point yet.
This is a completely hollow soulless machine to drive merchandise sales...
Whatever, DCuck. No one cares.
>first post is a seething mousenigger
amen
Yes
ok boomer
Your mistake is two things. Barely finding this out now. Two, giving Disney money.
Unironically this.
I blame zoomers.
After all the hype and fanservice, i hated it for how they fucked Thanos over
>build him up for 10 years and 20 movies
>his master plan was just something he pulled out of his ass in his full debut movie
except the very first movie he was shown as more than a smiling face he was after the infinity stones
No shit. Atleast avatar was kino
was sneed actually in hell
>remember those movies you already watched
>well here's them from slightly different perspective because TIME TRAVEL
I haven't seen this or Infinity War but from what I can piece together the antagonist wins at the end of the first one so they travel back in time to fight a weaker, earlier version of him that doesn't even know who the fuck they are.
Is this about right?
If you watched any Avengers after the first one you have nobody to blame but yourself
Golden Lion
I liked him in Infinity War but less so in Endgame. Feels weird since he wouldn't have matured at all in that time frame. That sad, his overall plan was dumb and could have been achieved with a less simple directive.
I agree. For a movie that's supposed to be a "pop culture landmark" I was surprised that it was mediocre at best. This movie isn't worth sitting in a shitty theater for 3 hours, let alone watching the 20 something movies that preceded it.
Yeah but it makes even less sense since Thanos is really old and his change in personality is jarring.
He's older in Endgame?
You're the one with no soul if you didnt mark out like a bitch during the portals scene.
This first two Avengers movies were a lot worse than the last two, though. Whedon has always been a mediocre writer and a miserable director. Infinity War and Endgame actually have a sense of scale to them and sometimes manage to feel as "big" and "epic" as they're trying to.
He knows who they are
Agreed Whedon sucks. I wish the Russos had done all the main Avengers movies.
He's really old to begin with but his difference in personality 5 years apart is silly.
I just like the Guardians and Ant-Man because they're fun.
>people take this universe seriously, and religiously watch all of these movies
Can you imagine?
I don't get it then.
The gross misuse of Thanos was the main problem. They essentially had a broken down older Thanos and a hot head younger Thanos and did nothing interesting with either of them. Here's how it should have went down.
>Thanos is living his retirement life when Avengers come to kill him
>he tells them how he hates himself for killing Gamorah and ruining his relationship with Nebula. He even wrecked his arm trying to snap Gamorah back into existance, but it failed
>Avengers decide not to kill him and let him live with his suffering
>by the end of the movie Young Thanos is winning the battle
>suddenly instead of Captain Marvel destroying his ship, old Thanos destroys it and has the rest of his army fight young Thanos' army
>in a one on one confrontation, old Thanos tells young Thanos of the mistakes he will make and begs him to stop and leave earth.
>Young Thanos ignores him and in a fight between him, old Thanos and numerous Avengers, old Thanos gets the glove from young Thanos and gives it to Stark with the promise that Stark include him in his snap
>Stark agrees and sincerely says "I hope they remember you." Killing both
I would take Avengers 1 over Civil War and Endgame. Infinity War was good, but is pointless after Endgame undid everything in it.
Winter Soldier is still the best MCU movie by a mile.
You are joking right?
I don't really think the first Avengers holds up at all. It's both visually and narratively a very boring movie with one or two individual cool moments. I don't think Winter Soldier is my favourite but I get why people like it so much. That sequence of Cap and Black Widow confronting Zola is probably one of the best scenes in the entire series.
Overall I kinda feel like the MCU really only got consistently good after Age of Ultron. It had a few good movies before, like Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, the first Iron Man but it had even more I have no interest in ever seeing again. I sure hope it has a few more good movies left in it.
You have an exquisite way with your wording that has given me an epiphany upon my fore thought regarding this piece of cinema (well, you may say “flick” now). Your critique makes me feel brighter and generally makes the palette for my taste in film feel grandeur. However, I feel a sense of malaise for other people in the room overcoming me. They all seem like such simpletons in regards to their movie viewing habits. In fact, knowing they like such wonton, blockbuster filth fills me with a superiority and disdain for how ape-like they are. How savage of these fools, and filled with pity for them I am. If only they could enjoy since avant-garde showings of artistic merits such as us, no? Ah, yes! The world would be much more joyful if it were so!
Thank you. This has truly been eye opening.
Agreed. The time travel shit is insultingly stupid.
