I honestly do not enjoy Donald Glover at all. That being said the show is fantastic, easily one of the best comedies of the decade and as said, the avant garde and surreal aspects of the show are done very well. The show critiques some interesting topics without being patronizing, enough so that I can look past some of the lame #woke shit that has no real substance. I thought it would be kind of bogus, but it's stuck with me since watching.

I do understand this, its just sad because now its not only Donglover but Zazie, LaKeith and Bryan getting a lot of work atm all of which will probably delay Atlanta even further.

Whether true or not, it doesn't matter. The show is far more layered than that, and part of it is following the journey of someone trying to blow up as a performer in the modern era. Shitty performers become big stars all the time.

Glover could have easily made the show about himself as the aspiring rapper seeing as he really is a big music star, but took a more interesting and complex route.

But Atlanta is interesting, and critically worthy, it will be looked back on one day as something substantial, like Sopranos and the wire etc, and is something they are all no doubt committed to.

It wouldn't really matter anyway I guess, it would not seem out of place in Atlanta for one of the characters to die a sudden and/or weird death and the show being able to deal with that and carry on with other characters. Paper boi has nearly died several times and been in potential death scenarios like hostile clubs already.

Everyone that lives in Georgia outside of Atlanta is pretty OK with it being burnt to the ground again. Nuke that hellhole.

That just makes the show more interesting. It's Glover's show and he's a massive IRL star, he could have written the show to make himself fascinating and get all the best story arcs if he wanted to.

Community is all right, but like Aqua Teen it lost the plot a few episodes in and became reference themed episodes. The RPG and GI Joe episodes are really good. Some greats in there, a lot of all right, and some really shit ones you'll forget after watching during the first 3 seasons. After that the episode count is halved, Chevy Chase and Donald Glover ditch, and you manage to put up with the show until the end because the ultimately added nothing to it you decide.

I should add that the social media app episode put the Black Mirror one with jurassic mommy to shame.
