This isn't Mad Max
I love Daft Punk
And it turns out it wasn’t even Daft Punk’s work.
Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings soundtracks are the best soundtracks in all of cinema. This is not an opinion.
Mortal Kombat wins, flawless victory
Story?
I never watched this but I like the soundtrack
Shit movies, kino soundtracks

Only incels believe this
Nigga, hold my beer and middle age crisis
Kinda kino
absolute kino soundtrack
movies arent as terrible as normies tend to say
Just what I heard from an industry friend. It’s collaborative nature makes it seem pretty obvious that the duo aren’t the heaviest influences on the end product.
Maybe my friend overstates his case, but I wouldn’t put it past the Disney machine putting Daft Punk as exclusive composers for marketing purposes
Wiki seems kind of hushed about it, but you see the other guys names there
This. And I assume you mean Fury Road.
Last movie OST I purchased on CD
>typical high school shithead pleb opinion
wow how interesting and epic
>tripfag has a story
y*kes
top tier but
>not almost anything done by Vangelis or Enio Morricone
So basically you’re talking out of your ass. Good to know
Daily reminder that Daft Punk is babby's first electronic.
This one theme is so good:
filtered
I like Goddamn Electric Company more but no one knows who they are. Even Ratatat is better.
>Source: Just trust me you fucks
Someone asked for the story
Are you even familiar with Daft Punk?
Daft Punk are great And so is that soundtrack but it’s not the best ever
I might agree with you, but what do you think is?
Maybe not the best, but one of the best here, and one not often talked about.
Interstella 5555?
not sure if that qualifies as an OST, did they write the music specifically for that movie?
I watched it so much as a kid I don't think I could again without crying like a little bitch
listened to Discovery for days on end too

LAST NIGHT
I HAD A DREAM ABOUT YOU
Disasterpeace is great, really unique and recognisable sound
Pic related, another movie by the same director with incredible score and visuals let down by its story in the eyes of critics
OUR WORK IS NEVER OVER
Thief/Sorcerer/The Keep?
I totally forgot the T4 score. It was really good for such a shit film.
>same director
Huh no wonder I dig them both.
honorable mention; Prophecy Theme from DUNE youtube.com
This is true.
However there are maby movies with very good soundtracks:
Conan the Barbarian
The Terminator
Interstellar
These are some of my personal favourites
Based and Tangerinepilled
I wanted to mention Thief. Very great movie with a very comfy soundtrack I loke to listen to at night.
Hard to imagine it was nominated for worst score once
of course
motherfucker you expect me to compare two zoomer nignogs to fucking WENDY CARLOS?
>nignogs
Whiter than you, amerimutt.
no
>uh oh he got the nig nog part wrong that means his whole point is wrong lets destroy all of human civilization and replace it with shitty zoomer beats because FUCK WENDY CARLOS AMIRITE FELLOW ZOOMERS
The soundtrack wasn’t even composed by Daft Punk. They got a LOT of assistance from a real movie composer. DP just provided arpeggio synths basically. ITS SHIT
Non meme question:
Should a film soundtrack be judged as a piece of art or by how well it complements its film?
A couple of years ago the Grand Budapest soundtrack won over Hans Zimmer's Interstellar soundtrack at the Oscars. Despite his many bullshit works, Zimmer's Interstellar soundtrack was clearly superior in every way compared to GB Hotel which was just a bunch of weird yodel noises - however, the latter really fit the film perfectly. I've been thinking about this and I don't find an answer.
>ITS SHIT
No way, that can't be true.
Tron is my favorite Daft Punk Album :(
>namefag
Imagine
I can only find the "remixed" version on Spotify, where can I get the real thing?
>WENDY CARLOS
Literally who is this you senile old boomer scum?
>the movie who’s soundtrack sounds a million times better than the usual Disney shit was actually scored by guys who make the usual Disney shit
Try harder
A tranny that pioneered synth sounds it made a really good version of some of Bach’s most famous pieces
>Bach
Literally who?
JT = Joseph Trapanese, the composer that Daft Punk worked with on Tron
>SK: I want to throw this out there. I’ve been hearing a lot of rumors out there about who really scored this film. There are fanboys and industry insiders alike who claim that “some guys at Remote Control ended up composing this score” and that Daft Punk “didn’t have much involvement as everybody was led to believe…”
>JT: I’ll just stop you right there. Anyone who says crap like that has no idea what they’re talking about. What’s great about these robot characters is their sense of mystery. Who did what? How did this happen? I won’t speak much into that, but I will say one thing. The fact is that (Daft Punk) was involved in every single note that you hear in that film. The credits are very fair on it. There was no weird “voodoo magic” on it by anyone other than who you see listed as credited as what they were doing.
>You know, I don't want to quell any rumors because rumors are great. They allow people to fantasize and pontificate about music, or about what we do. I love that, because if I had all the answers about how Star Wars (1977) was made, I wouldn’t have gone into what I was doing.
>Because of that sense of mystery, of how this was achieved, that’s why I do what I do, because I want to be part of that mystery. I want to be part of the ability to achieve something greater than one’s self. It’s funny to see all these people going on rants about ‘who did what’. The fact is, the word composer is attributable only to Thomas and Guy-Manuel. Period.
>Don’t mind me, just here being (debatably) the greatest movie of ALL (current) TIME
Based
For me it's Harry Potter
How did they manage to capture such a terrifying, bizarre feeling in sound? It's the sound of the triumph of your enemies, the people who shouldn't win have won with total domination
sorry to break this to you, but everyone who associated with Kubrick isn't as great as he was.
Also
>Pioneered synth sounds
Literally nothing Kraftwerk didn't already do. Now go dilate.
My favourite ones are from Revenant, Arrival and Birdman.
Okay. I feel better now. Thanks.
Composer of the first Tron soundtrack of course.
Best albums imo are Beauty and the Beast and Sonic Seasoning
