Was this the best Star Wars movie?
Was this the best Star Wars movie?
this movie has the plotting of a 7 year old playing with action figures
DISHONEST CINEMA
Coming from you that means it's actually great.
Jews bashing Christianity again?
It's even dumber than the prequels and that's saying something
Take away the eye candy (which is still inferior to Rogue One's) and there is literally no redeemable qualities to this movie
>hates on prequels
>rogue one has good eye candy
You're literally a pleb
DEEPEST LORE
TFA has lens flares
TLJ has an undeniably cool looking scene when admiral lesbian performs her superluminal kamikaze attack
that's it
Why doesnt Disney handwave away TLJ by saying it was all made up by those slave kids?
Return Jedi
because the backlash over such retardation would be even bigger than what they got for the movie itself
>best Star Wars movie
No.
Nor is it the 2nd best
Nor the 3rd best
Nor the 4th best
Nor the 5th best
Nor the 6th best
Nor the 7th best
white kid, female kid, black kid
fucking nauseating
Cringe
>first post
>thinking about the plot
Literally fucking RETARDED
RotS is the best Star Wars film
No, this is the best Star Wars movie.
I'm not being ironic, it's honestly the best one out of all and there's a perfectly good reason for it
5>6>4>Power Gap>3>1>Power Gap>2=Disneywars
>6>4
come on user don't be baiting like that
A handful of good ideas sprinkled upon an aimless coiling heap of shit that resembles Valerian: City of a Hundred Suns
That's some shit taste you got there
TLJ was unironically kino and Yea Forums's obsession with being contrarian fags who hate everything new made them blind to how good it was.
There are some meh moments and some of the plot probably should have been explained slightly better but the Luke/Kylo/Rey part of the story is some of the best shit we've gotten since ROTS and ROTJ.
>Jedi over Hope
Ho ho ho niggerface
Absolutely based and repilled. Refreshing to see we have one non-cuck here.
That reason being...?
It's simultaneously beautiful and emotional and well-directed, yet also dumb as a box of rocks.
Overall, I like it much more than The Force Awakens and about as well as Revenge of the Sith. The original trilogy sits above both of them.
Daily reminder that TLJ is the MGS2 of Star Wars and like 5-10 years from now everyone who hated it will be jacking off over it.
Just like in MGS2 where people's main problem was the loss of their protagonist TLJ challenges the audience's view of Star Wars' protagonist. In MGS2 this was done for meta reasons as to place the players directly in the story and show them the seriousness of war through the eyes of Raiden. In TLJ this was to spark a discussion on the role of heroes in society and how our views on them might differ from who they really are.
In TLJ we learn that, just like the Jedi of the prequels, Luke also got too obsessed with his own legend to the point that he was blind to the evil that was growing right in his very own Temple. Luke was thought of as the man who destroyed the Death Star and defeated the Emperor and Vader. Not as the man who stupidly ran head first into conflict because he was too afraid of losing his loved ones to see the wider picture. Or the man who struggled with turning to the dark side after he learned his 'legendary' father was a failure turned Sith Lord.
After fighting in so much conflict his entire life Luke had finally found peace. And in that peace he allowed himself to become complacent. Surely he deserved it after the OT. But with the rise of complacency also comes the rise of evil. So when Luke's own nephew began heading down a dark path Luke was blind to it until the very end. And by then it caught him off guard so much (just like the revelation that Vader was his father and that Vader would turn Leia) that he lashed out in a vein attempt at saving everything he loved. But this only served to finalize Ben's turn into Kylo Ren.
So in his shame Luke went into hiding assured that after allowing the rise of Palpatine, Vader, and Kylo Ren, the Jedi Order was fundamentally flawed and needed to end for something better to arise. But through Rey's continued view of Luke as a legendary figure worthy of praise for the good he did in the past he was able to lift himself out of this mindset and stop Kylo from destroying the Resistance for good allowing hope to survive in the galaxy. And with this Luke has one more legendary tale to notch onto his belt and his death will be remembered as a sacrifice that will have saved the galaxy.
No in 10 years there will be 10 more equally shitty star wars movies full of marvel quips and noone but people with so.y. in their veins will care.
except for how the entire character of luke skywalker doesn't make a lick of sense unless you force yourself to forget everything you know about him
>Just like in MGS2 where people's main problem was the loss of their protagonist
Kotor 2 had no revan
The last jedi is talked about more than most star wars films right now. It's a classic. I enjoy your tears
>dumb as a box of rocks
Well this is star wars it's not supposed to be anything ultra deep. All that matters is its beauty and direction
THEY ARE FUCKING CHILDREN'S MOVIES YOU WEAK CUNTS
Just because you say it doesn't make sense doesn't make it true. Read what I typed up.
I can say 2+2=4 doesn't make sense. You can explain it to me and then I can still say it doesn't make sense but that doesn't mean I'm right.
The Empire Strikes Back
guess that means BvS is a classic. THANK YOU user
The hyperbole appiled to this film on both sides of the divide is ridiculous. It is neither the best blockbuster of all time nor is it the worst in recent memory as the faggots on film twitter and the artists on here bray about respectively and incessantly. It is simply an alright popcorn schlock with a few interesting ideas scattered along the way. Star Wars should have ended with the Original Trilogy. Why can't we just let it go.
