DUDE.... DRUGS

he's a graduate of the hannah gadsby school of comedy

I only remember him from Fear Factor. No idea how he meme'd himself as a comedian and UFC commentator.

You just don't understand The Craft, bro.

Comedy Store.

Lots of people use stand-up as a bridge to other work like acting. Having an original voice is less important here than demonstrating your charisma and performance chops. He's one of those people.

Joe has played a very intelligent social game. I'll walk you through it.
>Beginner comedian
>No real appeal, not good not bad just regular
>lived his whole career life as the nice guy, the agreeable average joe
>never starts shit, too polite, doesn't overstep, never makes personal jokes about peers
>mencia starts stealing jokes
>joe is untouchable, so he calls him out and gets blacklisted for a while until people start to call that out as BS
>joe is welcomed back as a paragon of virtue at "DA COWLMEDY STOOAH DAWLG"
>people gravitate towards him, he had a regular career outside of this meme hobby so he does well and helps people
>gets people in his pocket since he is genuinely kind and helpful
>gradually starts to take control of things with minions, but his culture is to never be harsh or rude to anyone at all ever around him
>this culture = no criticism
>Joe has never seriously criticized any comedians
>he now has too big a platform to shit on him even when it is genuine
I am sure he is aware of what he has done, but it is no random coincidence all his friends kiss his ass big time. Never forget the sober october, the first one, where he literally said
>"No you can pick on me, I'm just like the rest of you guys haha"

Came to post this

>started Brendan Schaub's career as a comedian
What are you talking about? That's hilarious.

I saw a couple of his early specials, they arent that bad.
The problem is that if you've listened to his podcast long enough, you already know most of his thought patterns. Then his special is just that with a more comedic tone.

You get similar stuff with Burr except if Burr makes the original joke on his podcast, its already funny.

Ironic that the only funny thing about him is just how memetic he is

I liked him in Newsradio too though

Guess im a low iq pleb cause i think his specials are pretty funny.

I think he can be funny, but he feels like someone who is trying to be funny; and like someone who is trying to be cool- it just doesn't hold up and feels inauthentic.

The best comedians are fat fucking pig losers that are intelligent enough to know it.

But he's never said a single funny thing on his podcast.

Has there really ever been a successful comedian that's really come off as a Mr. Suave Cool Guy?

Apart from being a average Joe manlet I can't fault the guy.
Usually has a decent interview tactic by which if the guests tell him to shut the fuck up you know it's gonna be good.

Bill burr Alex jones Elon munsk and others where good.
Couldn't make it through Dan ackrowds one since he just tried to sell his stupid aylmao vodka meme

Jeselnik.

i think there was actually a JRE where they talked to him about retiring after he got knocked out in a bad fight, and that he was an intelligent and funny guy
and here we are today where he did his own special

Let's be honest though that's due to familiarity
He has one of the most podcast hours I've ever seen outside of steamers (who I don't watch)

When he starts talking about Dmt or monkeys I always start laughing

goddamn that was funny
i know they deepfaked a clip of him because he's done the show so many times there's probably tens of thousands of hours of him making every tone in the language

I don't think his thing really comes across as him thinking he's cool, I take him more as a guy who just tries to bait you into laughing at stuff he knows you shouldn't, and takes on more of the role as a sort of villain.
>black comedians like Katt Williams all like to act like they're pimps

he says some funny things during these podcasts, but his stand up is unwatchable animal noises.
