But let's get back to those opinions and perspectives on Trek. Balance of Terror is one of my favorite TOS episodes and I think it should be used as a model for how antagonistic aliens should be introduced in the franchise. The mystery of that first encounter with the Romulans really drove the episode and made them infinitely more interesting than just sort of talking about them as if they had always been a known quantity.
