And there is an understanding between the hosts and the audience, that this is just entertainment and talking shit. People have listened to hundreds of hours of these guys talking, they (including me) would know if Shane was some secret oriental hunter. If you are not part of this audience and you are exposed to an out of context snippet of this piece of entertainment, you will have a difficult time understanding this dynamic. The people 'reporting' this know it perfectly well.
Of course it is possible that many people simply do not accept that saying 'offensive' things should be allowed at all. But I would honestly argue that these people are mentally retarded in a way. It is obvious when you see them trying to comprehend the jokes they're condemning. They never get the actual joke and unironically think that people are laughing at the offensive words themselves.
