Why are anime adaptations so hard? They are NEVER as good as the source material

Why would you even want one? Also watch real anime, SnK is trash (including the manga)

Anime is low tier artform to begin with

Anime stories are often made worse than their manga counterparts too. This is because a anime/movie/show can’t properly convey what is a visual medium that you can read as fast or as slow as you want

Define "Real anime"

Name 1 3dino with better crafted payoff than SnK.

Why are Stephen king adaptations so bad? Their is lore there they ignore for surface level drivel.

In no particular order:

Katanagatari
Shinsekai Yori
Samurai Flamenco
Nichijou

Yes, I know, my taste is superior.

dont tell me sun-ken rock is getting a shitty netflix anime adaptation or something

>Their is lore there they ignore

20th Century Boys and Casshern are both better than their respective sources.

Anime is trash

I think anime sucks

All these anons coming out of the closet. So brave.

because anime is inherently garbage. The bar is so fucking low for an anime to be good that by comparison, a live action adaptation will always be shit because the standard is way higher.

Because anime is fucking retarded and terribly wirrten childish gook garbage. When you suddenly bring it to life with real world actors, you are forced to see how awful it actual is when the terrible dialog and story can't be hidden behind animation.

This guy definitely fucks

who cares, all anime is garbage in the first place

I use to think this too before I watched attack on tiitan. No movie or TV show has even come close to how well the story is crafted.

Ive watched attack on titan too and it's more of the same.

Most of the time it has to do with the casting, specifically the females. Its impossible to get the wonderful bust to hip ratios and ass sizes that anime has. Plus they never have as cute of faces. Most of the women they cast are just ugly skanks who ride chad all the time while anime girls are cutw and wholesome but maintain the allure of sexy.

Thats the biggest issue

Anime is not even a genre you mong. It's an aesthetic at most.

I thought this was pretty good for what it was.

Second looks way better because Annie looks less jewish

The IP only gets greenlit because they have insiders that are weeb fans of the property. Since influential Hollywood people are at the same time creatively destitute, they will try to rubber-stamp 'their' influence on the adaptation and scratch their heads at why the movie flops even harder in spite of this.
GUNNM is about as close as it gets and that's thanks to Jimmy Boatman writing a four hour script that Señor Spy Kids couldn't possibly fuck up no matter how much he cut.

anime is for faggots and cartoons are aimed at children so when they make a live action movie they can't figure out if they should aim it to children or manchildren fagots that also happen to watch cartons causing issues. Then you manchildren faggots come here and complain about it. Who gives a fuck grow the fuck up faggots

>retard.gif

Foiled again!

Because anime is cringe as fuck and no self respecting director would want to direct such trash.

and the ones that do have to change everything they possibly can

This is now an Alita thread.

Manga is completely driven by the visuals, but inherently untranslatable to film, because of suspension of disbelief. In manga, there is no suspension of disbelief because your brain never treats it as real in the first place.

Prototypical bad anime adaption is ridiculous visuals and script that can’t hold its own.

So actually, an *unfaithful* or loose adaptation is the best idea...

I was gonna say this. Usually the best adaptations of manga are anime series to match the pacing of the manga better. Yet even then many anime fall short of capturing the story the original manga does.

Of course, most anime and manga are trash full of generic ideas and garbage fier arcs. Looking back at my college years in the early days of Yea Forums, going through my old folders, it is amazing how many series were junk and even the autists of Yea Forums don't even talk about the vast majority of them anymore.

As good as Alita was, it had some glaring omissions from the source material and messed up a bunch of the characters.

Because anime sucks harder than a starlet trying to satisfy Weinstein

Animes are fine. Honestly some of you are so fucking picky about cartoons. Watch what ya like its not that hard.

>shinsekai yori
I laughed, well trolled.

>Why are anime adaptations so hard? They are NEVER as good as the source material.

I watch anime when I am absolutely sick of Hollywood's bullshit. Watching a Hollywood version of it defeats the point.

The characters had the same philosophy but went about it in different ways. Also, it's hard making makaku a brain eating sewer slug in a pg13 film. It's also tough to make a coming of age film rated R. But I felt the characters were good. Cameron just had them go about their arc in different ways than the manga. The only character I can see getting messed up is Nova. We'll have to wait for the sequel to see though.

Hugo was fucking shit, ruined both in cast and in personality/character.

Rest of the movie was ok

Sasha was always my favorite.

THE MATRIX 1 IS THE BEST ANIME ADAPTATION

BEFORE THE WACHOWSKI BROTHERS(MALE) WENT KOO KOO IN KABEZA

The character Hugo should have been omitted, almost every scene with him was bad

Sasha is best girl
