Independence Day

That’s more XCOM: Enemy Unknown than XCOM 2. XCOM2 takes place after the aliens had taken over the planet and you’re basically a terrorist network.

Fine. V.

Isn’t that a show?

Original was a mini-series

What, that had an ending? I swear i felt like it just disappeared off the place of the planet.

What is the viper of television & film?

Blomkamp has a short film like this

Not movies, but you are looking for Falling Skies. Let me tell you about Falling Skies.

Falling Skies is a show about red blooded America. It's a show about a history teacher named Tom motherfucking Mason that survives an alien apocalypse with his two sons, and leads a historical militia regiment slash resistence group using the power of ~*~TEACHING~*~ by outsmarting the lads from space with unknown technology like Farraday Cages and other high-school-level information. Also, it seems that Earth is the only habitable planet EVER and that's why the aliens come here to take our shit, but luckily, they weren't counting on Tom motherfucking Mason.

He goes on his journeys spouting about the greatness of the Constitution and a full belief in honesty and trust and the rule of law as well as fairness. He also shoots AKs, rocket launchers, rides motorcycles and takes down aliens in hand to hand combat. He also has great empathy, so much that he embraces his half-alien daughter, and also the subservient races of the invading aliens when they drop arms in front of his massive balls which turns out were only doing their master's bidding.

After he saves the world singlehandedly after killing all the bad aliens after going to the moon in an alien spaceship, he gets offered the position of President of Everything and he refuses.

So yes Yea Forums, i fully and wholeheartedly headcanon that this is the best live-action adaptation of Xcom2 that we will ever see.

By the way, that's also where's you will get the best Will Patton role that Will Patton ever played or will play, as retired army Colonel Dan Weaver, hardest of the hardest and a former Gulf veteran (none of that pansty ass Afghanistan and Irak shit, we're going Bush on this shit). He is the pitch-perfect tone of loyalty and gruff determination with a heart of gold that sufferes tremendous trials throughout the post-apocalypse and is a steadfast ally to Tom motherfucking Mason.

He is so fucking badass that he survives the ending of the show alive and well as a secondary character without a bullshit sacrificial trope.

I said movies not shows

well if you watch it end to end for a hundred hours or so it's a movie then so it counts

>um eww? WHY does she have to have boobz? Male gaze

I just started playing this again with mods.
Being able to actually make my soldiers look like rebels and soldiers is pretty cool, plus using HECU voices from HL1 and EXALT voices and clothes from the first game.
Shit is really fun

How about They Live?
That kind of counts.

This must be a copypasta from Reddit

I don’t think they would jerk off the constitution and old knowledge saving the day, but you’re right the “motherfucking science” shit sounds like them

Magnificent Seven

>and you’re basically a terrorist network.
XCOM are freedom fighters you xeno loving fag.

Who would you cast as the Hunter, Yea Forums?

How many times has 'we'll use this battle plan from the civil war to save the day' been used? And the Farraday cage example was right from the show, think first or second season.

Anyhows, it was a horrible show which i watched just to see how horrible it got. Quite brilliant in that way.

XCOOM lol

What's with all the Yea Forums threads on Yea Forums. It's getting out of control

Hey, but where's the cloaca?

Fun fact: 6 Star Trek TNG cast members had VA roles in this game

Denise Crosby
Marina Sirtis
Jonathan Frakes
John de Lancie
Michael Dorn
Dwight Schultz

I really like the pacing of XCOM2. It’s a true slow burn. I didn’t like it as much as Enemy Within at first but once I played it more, I think I prefer it. Although the meld technology and chopping off your soldiers limbs to turn them into mechs was cool, the SPARK unit basically replaces that and they fleshed out the combat skills and psi skills a lot more.

I do wish they expanded on the air battles rather than scrapping them tho. I get why but there was some potential for fun mini games there. And not enough attacks happen on your home base mothership.

Also spy missions where you have to extract your soldier who only had a pistol was fun.

Although the Lost missions are good replacements I still wish the covert operations had more variety.

XCOM3: Terror from the Deep when?

>Chosen shows up
>Reaper uses Banish

lol

It’s weird I feel like only Half Life 2 is the only other game where you play as a underground rebel rising up against the aliens that dominate the earth. There must be another game or movie like this.

Should I play the first before the second?

not really, you just need to know that the aliens won

Probably should. It makes the gut punch of the opening in the second more heavy.

First one is about first contact. You might not know who they characters are referencing in the second one if you don’t play it. But otherwise it’s a simple storyline.

I encourage everyone ITT to play the x-piratez mod for the original Xcom. It's pure mod kino

snek tiddies

Second. It is superior in every way

I would say that. I think the first one has its own strengths. And maps felt bigger. Also that Newfoundland quest was GOAT

*wouldnt

XCOM: Enemy Within is the best mobile game

>tfw phionex point had hype
>sold their souls to epic
>game was DOA and nobody cares anymore
