After smoking tons of weed, and attempting to write/create/draw, I've found I've only had moderate success. It doesn't really fuel you to sit and write and come up with awesome crazy shit, so much as it just puts me in a good mood, and then you're like, yeah, guess I'll go make tea or listening to music or whatever. Have had a few inspiriational moments, but they are few and far between.

you are a boring writer. come up with some exciting words

>boring
>exciting

Dummy diffrent strains have different effects on your psyche

Disregard the pathetic potheads who say weed makes you creative. It just makes you more easily happy about what you do. So you're dumbed down and create shit but you're satisfied.

dont care. you suck cocks for a living faggot

this is exactly the impression that I'm getting 90% of the time, but there's is that one occassional moment of inspiration too. You hear music and stuff, you believe more in your ideas, but I'm not sure I honestly write anything beginning to end whilst high and have it be good.

Don't listen to this fucking idiot.

Also OP you sound like a bit of a fucking idiot too.

Weed is fine. If there's an issue with your attention span, or creativity, or whatever mental facet you want to focus on then it's probably an issue with you, regardless of the marijuana. Plenty of intelligent people smoke weed everyday and write poetry, screenplays, songs and novels. You not being able to do that probably is not because you are smoking weed. Many famous musicians consider their success largely due to being "inspired by drugs", but this inspiration is really just a manifestation of their true natures - perhaps brought to the surface by weed or other drugs. Pretty much what I'm getting at is if you feel dumber for smoking weed, it's probably just because you're already pretty fucking dumb.

>t. a super intelligent stoner

>Pretty much what I'm getting at is if you feel dumber for smoking weed, it's probably just because you're already pretty fucking dumb.

I never said anything like that. What I usually get is fleeting bouts of extreme happiness and I'l come up with some bright ideas, but man is it hard to follow through on them. So I just end up with tons of scraps of ideas for stories and images etc, but they never go anywhere.

DUDE

who wants to read a book written by a pothead? 500 pages on why if you put sunglasses and a hat on a dog it looks like he could drive a truck

>smoke weed
>start experiencing time in super slow motion
>the act of blinking feels like it takes an eternity
>taking a drink of water feels like i'm drowning
>inside of mouth goes numb
nah i'm good

the peak creativity point for weed is the midpoint between sobriety and being high. the best music I've made has been in this point. you need to just get a little high. high enough that your thoughts are more divergent but not high enough that you can't exercise them out of you in any coherent manner. getting really stoned does not help creativity at all

exactly, like possibly the biggest pull factor for me right now is "Kev Smith and Seth Rogen" smoke week and it helps them write. But I'm not sure I wanna see any of Kev's weed-induced stuff, and how much of Rogen's material is written while he's high as a kite? How much of it was written before he got really into weed in the first place, so he was already pretty talented to begin with.

Your lack of application has nothing to do with you smoking weed. If you didn't smoke weed, you would still probably not follow through on your ideas. Sounds like you're easily distracted and smoke weed also as a distraction.

Weed isn't really useful for creative purposes where you just sit down and try and come up with shit. The really good stuff comes when you're talking about stuff with a friend and that friend keeps forcing you into a different perspective.

If you want to write, the real trick is to get a constant flow of caffeine, speed and nicotine as well as sugar.

easily distracted

kind of. But it must take a lot of weed to get through a screenplay...

Im a major pothead who used to read and write. Im taking court ordered substance abuse classes. One thing i realized early on and has been reinforced by class is that thc actually hinders abstract thinking. Honestly you shouldnt even smoke every day except maybe at night cuz it hinders cognitive abilities.

I dunno man, I started writing a feature screenplay about two months ago. I'm currently 90 pages into it and anticipating to finish this first draft before next weekend. I also have three jobs and probably only get one day off work every 7 or 8 days. I think you really need to want to do what you say you want to do, if that makes sense - as in go beyond the level of just enjoying the idea of having written a screenplay etc... Are you passionate about what you do stoned when you're sober? ie If you like writing music when you're high, do you also like writing music sober?

This. For me the moments of “clarity” appear on the come up and for about 10 minutes of the plateau. Then I notice a big drop off in terms of divergent thinking as the high goes on, then I’m left either the same or worse off than before.

He's not the inspiring writer here

What software you use? Final draft?

I like writing regardless, but I dont really write music whilst sober. Weirdly, I've written some great musical stuff stoned, and gotten a nice bitta praise for it too, but that is NEVER there sober, so it's a very mixed bag for me.

Yeah final draft 10
If you're writing music and getting praise then you should be motivated to do it more. It just sounds like from what you're saying that weed does help you creatively but you're not really bothered to follow through on those compulsions. I think that's also fine since, like you said, you don't really display an interest in these things whilst you're sober. Therefore, there shouldn't really be anything wrong with weed just putting you in a good mood and mellowing you out anyway. Unless you are passionate about pursuing these creative endeavours and cannot sober and are thus pursuing them solely when high and failing, in which case - nigga thats kinda dumb.

Weed is dreadful for writing. You need liquor, my friend. Alcoholism among writers is practically a tradition, think Hemingway and the like. A nice glass of whiskey while you write will loosen you up and lubricate your mind, it gets you into a headspace where you can just let the words flow without so much self-criticism. Of course, you’ll need to edit after when you’re sober, but it’s very helpful for writing first drafts.

acid or shrooms would be more likely to induce actual creativity. weed certainly can inspire you from different reality states but mostly you're just in a stupor. psychedelic creativity is a lot more clear headed and precise

Thc is literally pyschoactive

I know. I'm high right now.

I do my best creative work when high maybe you just need to git gud.

This guy really thought, "Damn, I'll just smoke a ton of weed and be a great artist! It's so simple, that's what all the other great artists did" and then was surprised enough to make a post about it when aforementioned scenario was not the case.

people ingest way too much THC that's why
you have to microdose it

What else do you know?

Investigate the 8 circuit model

What you want is caffeine or nicotine or any circuit 3 drug

or

"I'll smoke some weed and maybe it'll help my writing, it helped these other guys"

not a big fan of the booze, and it just leaves you feel depressed, so fuck that.

This lil nigga knows lol
