What are the "bullet time" moments of other action movies, where they had their own "cool effect" to try and emulate the Matrix?
Remember in that shitty movie "The One" where Jet Li kicked those cops and they started flying in slow-motion but he moved at normal speed? That was pretty cool, I guess.
The One is a good movie and I don't give a shit what anyone thinks
John Gutierrez
It's funny, but when all that edgelord / badass / xtreme stuff happened in the late 90s, it even looked really cheesy and corny to me even then. People talked about how impressive The Matrix was but I just saw these really bland nondescript, overly slick, color-graded shots of douchebags in trenchcoats and 'kewl' sunglasses jumping around bullets in SLOW MOTION.
Mason Wright
Like we meme about that era now but it looked just as silly to me then.
Samuel Walker
the effect in charlie's angel looked pretty cool and wasn't an exact copy.
Matthew Morgan
>Shitty >The one Pick one nigger.
Brody Gutierrez
Then you have no idea how movies are made and are just another consumer.
The still tried to do it with that King Arthur movie youtube.com/watch?v=MN48ocm0POQ They wanted an Arthur cinematic universe...
Also the original Fast and Furious films would use excessive CGI to show inside the engines was their matrix effect. This was parodied in Torque youtube.com/watch?v=5X19dK0OhyY
Jaxson Thompson
>a multiverse Highlander-ish flick featuring peak Jet Li fighting against himself (and sometimes Jason Statham) >shitty Sounds like someone should try having sex once in a while, ammirite?
Jason Baker
this king arthur shit with the random shaky rotating camera is SOO BAD. fucking hell.
Colton Sanders
I studied film, including practical skills. And that doesn't necessarily make me impressed with the results of the effects trick. It's' cheesy looking.
David Anderson
Watching a few YouTube videos doesn't make you an expert
Logan Sanchez
you're a very special snowflake user
Elijah Perry
It's just lame looking to me, get over it.
I went to a really elite school, actually.
Nolan Turner
Feels like Im watching a game play, King Arthur scenes look more like video game scenes than film
do you guys not like the slow motion in action scenes? I like them when done well
David Smith
The One was awesome and has the best soundtrack of all time.
Well, I didn't go to film school. I went to films.
John Reyes
ONE, NOTHING WRONG WITH LI TWO, NOTHING WRONG WITH LI THREE, NOTHING WRONG WITH LI FOUR, NOTHING WRONG WITH LI
William Sanders
RET THE BODIES HIT THE FROOR
Camden Murphy
Enemy of the State, but that came out before The Matrix, and the use of it makes no sense within the movie.
Jonathan Phillips
CUT MY RIFE INTO PIECES THIS IS MY RAST LESORT SUFFOCATION NO BLEATHING DON'T GIVE A FUCK IF I CUT MY ARM BREEDING
Thomas Moore
Yes I remember that scene. Interesting film. I liked the atmosphere
Bentley Thompson
Holy shit I never watched Torque because I thought it was just "Fast&Furious with bikes", but this looks really funny.
Benjamin Gutierrez
The Fury (1978)
Jace Barnes
Pretty sure it's a satire
Dominic Long
Dam..........
Owen Mitchell
I guess a dark, gritty flash movie could work
Brayden Campbell
Does anyone else find it funny that in the scene we're all talking about, Neo doesn't actually dodge anything? He literally just falls backwards in slow motion while flailing his arms around. From Trinity's perspective it should have just looked like he fell down after getting shot.
Jose Jackson
Oh it shows..
Austin Torres
he moves backwards faster then the bullets are coming towards him, thats impossible, from trins perspective he would look simlar to the agent when he dodges bullets
Charles Scott
True, but the agent actually moved around in different directions and reacted to each individual bullet. Neo bent backwards once and landed on his back.
