Playing music is really boring when you're by yourself. I've tried to teach myself piano like 3 times and it's a complete slog. Would be more fun with a piano waifu though. Playing music is definitely a social activity, but if you were going to play by yourself, piano would be better than guitar, unless you're going to learn classical finger picking, because you can't really play a song by yourself with only one guitar.
