What do we actually know about the first orders government?

tribal monarhy

They were nazis....except they are multicultural nazis.

they hire blacks and women. Not sure of their queer policy. Seems like it would be working at wal mart.

What makes them Nazis beyond being militaristic and authoritarian? Seems like it’s surface level aesthetics more than any real semblance to National Socialism.

We still have no consensus on how big the FO actually is, so no. "The guys on the platform probably run things" is the most detail you're going to get.

remember uncle owen and and beru? They were Jewish.

The conditioning of their soldiers is shite. A stormtrooper can turn around just by seeing one of his partners die.

How much dick did Phasma suck to get that view?

They're there for cool factor and toys, just like the other trilogies. The main story is about the special snowflake Jedi vs Sith shenanigans. Give me Star WARS already.

Force awakens they said they were a small fragment of a splintered Empire all fighting to be on top. Then Last Jedi threw all that said whatever they own everything.

All of the cocks. That’s why she gets so few lines, her throat is sore.

They aren’t a government they are a fanatical terrorist organization.

>Expecting backstory, logic, or reason, from nu-wars

Just turn your brain off and look at the pretty pictures.

Terrorist ORGANIZATION still needs some sort of government structure.

they are like, super evil. And they are against the republic, so is a big no-no. I mean, why they would be against a republic where strong women are leading?
they are evil and probably incels.

Nothing. Who cares? Fuck off.

There's a quick cut in TFA that shows a few star destroyers in orbit of Starkiller in the background. When I saw the movie at release, I thought that was the height of their power. But apparently in TLJ they're strong enough to subdue the galaxy. You know, if Disney doesn't care, why should I? Whatever.

Too bad kids don't see it that way.
Actually thank goodness.
Toys are so lame that they single handedly bankrupted Toys-R-Us
Finally have a generation that's not obsessed with faggy space opera.
Now there's mcu cape shitters, but they don't have the boomers' backing and are more than likely numale, so they will get beat up.

They're antifa with a multibillion dollar budget.

They are challenging a republic so weak they won’t even fight against them. So they are correct in taking over cause the republic is criminally incompetent and cowardly.

either way it makes no sense.
The whole galaxy should be in a vast great depression.
The Empire ruled across the whole galaxy, so it gets its resources from everyone, not only losing 1 death star but 2 would make anyone beyond bankrupt for countless years.
Every planet would be at war with each other for probably about 100 years.
Alas this is disney, so it's just 30 years later and there is already another death star.

they're an empire.

empires are by their nature "civic nationalist".

Probably as much as her actress did to get the part

All nu wars is faggot shit

The First Order is one of Disney and Abrams's earliest and most overt jabs at the fanbase. Three movies in and God knows how many books and comics, and yet not even their name is given an origin. Know why? Because they intended it to be a very thinly-veiled reference to old Star Wars fans. "First Order' - simplest definition? "The order that came first." That can't be a reference to the Empire, because the Empire wasn't first. The Republic was. It *could* be a standing order given by Palpatine, but if it is, it's a bit late to make that clear.

The First Order clings to "the past," seeks to re-instate the Empire, it borrows the Imperial aesthetic, brainwashes children to fight for their cause, even counts among their number a man unconsciously cosplaying as a leading figure within the former Empire. Hux's entire speech on SKB is essentially an old fan railing against Disney jettisoning the canon they've enjoyed for years, the "lies and betrayals" he's talking about references to Disney's treatment of the IP. All of this is absolutely intentional. It's meant to make people who embrace whay Disney's done with Star Wars look on those who don't as "the enemy."

The Resistance is, in contrast, the new fans. That's why they make it a point to show a child wearing a Resistance "decoder ring" at the end of TLJ. The Resistance/Rebels are youth, diversity, and the future. The First Order clings to the past. The only member of the First Order who will stop clinging to the past is Kylo Ren.
