>Uh.... and the character is evil because.... uh he's evil
Uh.... and the character is evil because.... uh he's evil
>DUDE WHERE ARE THE CHARACTERS MOTIVATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT?
He was actually corrupted by Melkor but whatever
Wow, we have one thread contrasting LOTR with GOT and you guys just start sperging clones.
The story behind Sauron's fall is immaculate, but not talked about much in the main books.
For some pleb exposure to more of his story, I suggest the Shadow of Mordor and War games.
>at no point in the film does this state that
yeah great story telling lmaooooo
>not knowing the origins of characters from the books
He was an apprentice to melkor at a young age, became a powerful wizard who turned to evil.
>>Uh.... and the character is evil because.... uh he's evil
You're a retard, dude. Just a LOTR hater. Maybe domt stray to far from capeshit.
>character's development
>character's backstory
>character's motives
>ever character must be morally grey
This is what a moron looks like, Sauron has a more detailed backstory and history than almost any villain. Tolkein spent at least as much time on him as he did on his first book.
The fact that 90% of the lore isn't the focal point across 4 volumes is only a testament to how sublime it is.
Why are you quoting my post with Bundy, dumbo?
Talking about the movies, not the 50 books Tolkien wrote
>NO STOP MAKING FUN OF MY POOR DEPICTED FICTIONAL VILLAIN STOP IT STOP IT
You'll grow up someday I guess.
More like "...evil because he wants to impress his "evil-embodimented husbando" of a master"
Well, none of the characters are old enough to even know that save for Galadriel and she probably doesn't give a shit.
Tolkien didn't write 50 books. He kept extensive notes and his son decided to sell out and compile all that shit into semi-readable tripe.
>semi-readable tripe.
stick to Cat in the Hat smoothbrain
This. Wtf
Some people are simply sadistic cunts, it is what their DNA instructs
Top tier villain.
>villain is called Sauron
>villain's henchman is called Sauronman
whoah... so this is the literary genius of tolkien...
>soijack posters not knowing that Sauron is pretty morally grey in terms of his motivations and has a huge amount of character developmenmt
>villain is called Hitler
>villain's henchman is called Himmler
whoah... so this is the literary genius of... idk, rothschild?
>the other guys have some more goofy names like goering and goebbels
does the author expect us to believe this world?
some people are evil just because they are
>bad guys of the first world war are the germans
>bad guys of the second world war are uhhh... also the germans
lazy fucking writers
He wanted to be God but since he didnt have the eternal flame all he could do was bend others to his will. Its a classic existential crisis
you're thinking of morgoth not sauron
sauron had more complex motivations
Read the books
At the root its basically the same. You have to view the motivations from the perspective of the songs of the ainur to really appreciate the whole series
their characters were distinctly different in their roots though
sauron never wanted to be god and never hated god, he just thought god had abandoned arda and moved onto better things. he wasn't a pure nihilist atheist like morgoth was
Yes, true evil is a real thing and some people are just evil.
>First ruler of the country is called Khomeini
>His successor is called... Khamenei
How fucking imaginative.
