Yes, Macross Plus is true Kino, the movie somehow make things better and worst so its a mixed bag, but the ovas are wonderful. Patlabor series + ovas + first movie are great. Second movie sadly belongs to a time when Oshii start to believe the meme about him being a true artist, so it´s a borefest.

Harmony Gold only have the rights for original macross show outside japan, thats why Macross 2 and Plus wasnt jewed by Carl Macek, he literally can´t, also Studio Nue/Artland/Big West fucking hate Macek back then because he wanted to control everything.
