Word has it that Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time" series (a series of fantasy novels) is being made into an exciting new series by Amazon!

they made Nynaeve into a mutt
the beautiful nynaeve that should be played by an indian actress

a goddamn mutt nigger

>a goddamn mutt [n-word]
You've made excellent points, but let's watch it with those n-bombs

Daily reminder that we're in tel'aran'rhiod and Rafe is just fucking around with you from the shadows

Attached: wakingdream.png (576x173, 49K)

Oh my!

A shit LOTR ripoff, I wonder how much worse they'll make it

Reminder to mention this show as the reason you cancel Prime when your 30 day trial ends.

Reminder that an Amazon supervisor in a third-world country will be the only person who sees your complaint and unless you word it at a 1st-grade level they won't understand it

I find it hilarious how hard they are pushing the narrative that the Two Rivers is black on the show because they were in the books. Aside from the actual book descriptions, decades of official artwork, and Jordan’s own cast pics, there’s the fact that everyone from julius caesar to mannerheim is black now and we’re supposed to buy that they did this to be faithful to the books?

Ever read through Brandon Sanderson's interviews archived on theoryland that deal with feminism, etc? The hardcore fandom is cancer. It's also funny to see a devout Mormon going along with it all

After I cancelled Prime I was shocked to learn that the free shipping on orders over $25 was exactly the same as the free shipping under Prime. I felt very cheated for having wasted my money on Prime after that especially because their catalogue of original content is so awful compared to Netflix and HBO.

I can’t believe they put a Survivor contestant in charge of this. It’s going to be even worse than the pilot with Billy Zane, some Mystery Science Theater 3000 level shit.

>implying the Billy Zane pilot wasn't kino
>disrespecting the memory of Seda
>mfw

Attached: inzane.jpg (320x240, 50K)

There’s also the bizarre proclamation from the script that the cast should like like America in a few hundred years like a beautiful chocolate rainbow. Yeah there’s no agenda there goyim, we’re just trying to honor the source material, now go order some cheap shit made in china and subscribe to Prime for your daily dose of edutainment.

>a survivor contestant
Are you serious?

Prime is one-day or sometimes same-day shipping now. Default free shipping is two-day. I get it sometimes if I really want/need something immediately and can't get it locally (have stated this before in these threads and been called a shill, which is absolutely ridiculous! I am a standard 4channel's Yea Forums user with no hidden agenda). Their music and film/tv streaming services are not useful perks, though... nearly total garbage -- some great stuff on there, however!

I heard Amazon treats their factory workers worse than the Seanchen treat people who can channel.

ok but i have heard a lot of the middle books are boring af? Does this mean they will knowingly produce boring seasons?

>order expensive device
>sixth-party dropshippers deliver the wrong device
>send it back
>order it again
>fourteenth-party delivery service leaves it on a public counter when it was sent to a PO Box
>complain
>get sent threatening letter by someone who is clearly not a master of the English language
I don't find that I'm even treated better than a recovered escaped damane as a customer

Fans of the series had to wait years between releases. Fantasy fans were pretty much only used to trilogies, or series of novellas. Waiting years for a new phonebook and getting something subtle that left out your favorite character, or didn't immediately resolve plot threads, or introduced new (or "new") characters, made some angry. I was one of them, but have since learned to appreciate the series on complete rereads

Attached: publicationdates.png (528x552, 73K)

Amazon also pays almost no taxes and their drivers and line workers make so little money that many depend on handouts from the government to get by. It’s okay though because Amazon also produces woke programming so it all balances out.

Most of the books is basically Rand being beaten and raped by destiny into being a savior. It is his acceptance into the role and when he does it. Goddamn its cathartic. But the read is such a slog. So many introspection repeating and how he must not use his powers but nope fucking do. He's going to use it. Oh, you want more Rand? Good fucking luck, here's Egwene being a brat for fourteen volumes.

The only good thing that this series has is the brotherhood between the river boys. God, i love the three of them. I want to fuck Elayne

I hate The wheel of time so much, it feels like it is made for 12 year old who just outgrew harry potter and are looking for something more "mature". I could not even get through the 3rd book, and I watched 500+ episodes of Naruto even though I hated it just cause I promised a friend I would. It has the worst written female characters I have ever seen, 80% of each book feels like an anime filler and God forbid you care about one character in particular cause these books regularly have 200+ pages of a single point of view.

tits or gtfo

>Lews Jr.

Imagine being to stupid to appreciate WoT kek

Absolutely this. I tried to read that tripe, but after I was some thousand pages in and the girls are gossiping about who gets to marry Rand, I was fucking done.

100% this.

After reading the entire series and the prequel a few time, and finally understanding that the women were presented as bozos, I just walked away.

The outrage of the alt-right white nationalists over this subversive Nazi piece of garbage being made into something acceptable for the 21st century is really amusing to me.

Geez you went on the second after the first?

>Enemies that can't cross water
>an item that weighs on the bearer
>enemy without form
I can't remember the rest but it's a shameless LOTR ripoff but worse in every way.

Based netflix shill

...at least Rand is white... for now...

Author acks LotR as inspiration. There are a couple LotR easter eggs besides the obvious aping. The series is about myths becoming legend and legend inspiring the myth that created it again. Only thing that really bothers me is that he denied any inspiration from Dune. Complaining about the LotR stuff is brainletism.

You forgot:
>A heir to a throne that doesn't want it and dedicates his life to fighting evil.
>Two Rivers is a small, isolated village of farmers where nothing bad happens.

I read somewhere that the first book is sort of an oddball and that it gets better after that, and while eye of the world was by no means good it was not nightmarish or anything, I was kinda split on it so I gave the next one a shot........To this day I wonder how did he not switch up the Rand and Girls' chapters a bit, it has not fluidity, it feels like watching game of thrones but with only jon for the entire season, and then some other people come in for the last 2 episodes.

I have bad news for you user...

the "white" peoples like Cairhien and Aiel are going to have ethnics as background characters in every shot, while the Atha'an Miere and Domani will be just their one ethnicity depicted as described in the books

Controversy aside, how far do you think this streaming service adaptation will get? Will it be popular enough to last through the entire book series? Die on the vine?

And you just happen to be in every single WoT thread exactly when someone mentions Prime, coincidentally there to defend it within minutes? If you really aren't being paid to do this you should check yourself into a mental hospital.

always surprised how long amazon shit lasts, they probably contact themselves for 3 seasons or something just to milk money out of the amazon machine. But it won't be good or have many viewers. They'll probably get through a few of the books maybe to dragon reborn but there's now way they'll get it popular enough for the full series

>out lander leading a bunch of over powered desert people out of their native lands on a jihad
damn how could that dude have said it has no influence with a straight face?

It's possible that Jordan and Herbert were influenced by the same source material from the bible etc. Jordan wasn't the type to steal stuff without admitting it, he was pretty open basing the series on other works and mythologies.

Jordan also changed Taimandred out of devious butthurt and despite claiming to main Perrin/Loial, probably based all of the Emond's Field three on aspects of his personality, so some part of him is a sneak-thief

I've been in WoT threads since Yea Forums antiquity, and while I was posting a bit tongue-in-cheek there, I'm an occasional Prime user, and yes, I've ultimately decided to compromise with evil to meet my goals.

>despite claiming to main Perrin/Loial
Interesting, I didn't know that. Does that mean Faile is based on his wife?

I always assumed that the big fat philosopher guy who worked at Rand's school was Jordan's alter ego, and that the way he violently killed him off was him working through his personal demons.

Wait, Herid Fel was fat? I missed that if so. Anyway, he couldn't even come on to Min whereas RJ had multiple girlfriends. If he was an avatar, why wasn't he Maester Pycelling it up?

it is pretty thrilling and surprising!!

I'm just in this for the memes at this point.

I miss the /wot/ days of constant OC, before we were psychically demolished by Rafe's open and accepted psychopathy towards the source material and the general trend toward encouraging actual retardation (not pretending to be retarded) on this site

>the brotherhood between the river boys
Oh, you mean that thing Jordan's successors chose to not acknowledge or even revisit?

>I want to fuck Elayne
>picking the worst girl of the harem
Get some taste. Min is the superior fuckbuddy and Avi is the fertility goddess amazon you keep breeding over and over again. Elayne is a spoiled brat who constantly endangers everyone around her.

something I never got about asha'man is how so few of them died during the testing and training in the black tower. they say they have to fight saidin to grasp and control the source for every mundane task and yet I'm sure there's a point where they say very few of the men have died in their training considering the harsh methods of teaching.

Meanwhile the women have to surrender and draw in the power but they're terrified of accepted and novices killing themselves or burning themselves out. Are the women really that shit at controlling the one power that they just off themselves that often? Does it ever say how many women died or burnt themselves out in the white tower?

The "slog" is greatly exaggerated and it was mostly because people had to wait a couple of years for a new book. If you read them back to back it's not nearly as bad.
>Does this mean they will knowingly produce boring seasons?
Nah, the problems with the pacing were stuff like continuing a plot line for longer than it should have been so it can easily be fixed for television by condensing those parts a bit.

>something I never got about asha'man is how so few of them died during the testing and training in the black tower
black cords

I think this was part of a larger problem with the series which is that RJ dropped a ton of the interesting adult stuff that was present in the early books like the themes of addiction and fear of losing your mind/turning evil/burning out. By the time he got to the Asha'man storyline the tone of the series had changed and magic was treated like some boring anime shit.

Nagger!

>RJ dropped a ton of the interesting adult stuff that was present in the early books like the themes of addiction and fear of losing your mind/turning evil/burning out
he got so popular and had to interact with so many autists who hyperanalyzed the series that he became withdrawn and self-conscious. can you imagine writing that rand vs merchant scene based on some fucked-up thing you did in vietnam then selling hundreds of millions of copies and having to go on tour answering questions from shelterbound geeks with nothing better to do than pore over what you've said?

that being said, there are still somewhat hidden themes in the series which he didn't really have to answer for

Literally fucking why did he do that? Rand, Perrin, and Mat's brotherly bond was the fucking best. Shit, it was the best thing how these boys fucking will gather armies to save their bro because fuck anyone who messes with the river boys and thennnnnnnnnnnn its gone.

Not sure why you are criticising Brandon, Alan, and Maria for sewing up the series in the best way possible.

Fact is, they were experts in the material, read all the books as well as the notes, and cared about the author as much as Harriet herself did.

They even reached out to the fandom for advice.

Nah, I'm just mad that there are too little Rand gets in trouble and his bros are here to save his dragon ass moments.

Sorta. In winter's heart they say one in five asha man had to be put down due to the madness already, but I don't remember many being killed or burned out. Prolly saving them so the dreadlords could have more people without having to asspull too hard.

>read all the books
oh wow they read ALL the books? wow that is so impressive! as well as the notes? holy shit!

>too little Rand
speaking of which...

Attached: wheeloftimecasting-blogroll-1565826345714.jpg (1200x630, 120K)

Which rand vs merchant thing?

Eh, he isn't that bad. Think about viggo mortensen vs aragorn

>as well as the notes
Factually incorrect, you double-reddit-spacing doublenigger.

Amazon needs to step up their shill game, this shit is pathetic.

Attached: merchant.jpg (510x2634, 1.99M)

Canonically, and I can cite the text if you like, recruits burned out and were killed for madness all the time. The Black Tower didn't turn away recruits, nor did they let failures leave. Fact of the series.

>finally understanding that the women were presented as bozos
It really took you fourteen monoliths and a prequel to figure this out and 'walk away'??
Also, what about Verin?

Jordan lit up some chick holding an ak in vietnam. The merchant Rand beheads is a woman, and he struggles with it for like 5 books in the series

If you cared after TALL MOIRAINE then you never liked WoT to begin with.

based

>Jordan lit up some chick holding an ak
Ever admit to lesser faults to deflect attention from other worse things you may have done?

>Jordan pedowood confirmed

every time i see more news about this show, all i can think of is
>i have won again, lews therin

Completely based comment all the way until the last sentence. Elayne a shit. I wanna wife Faile, bros

I want into the World of If where this series is adapted faithfully by a skilled director who will brook no deviance from the source material

fuck aes sedai, fuck darkfriends and FUCK seanchan

mat cauthon and whitecloaks are based, and so was lord ingtar and hurin

>>Lews Jr.
Is Lews even a name on its own? Every time he was referenced it was "Lews Therin", as if the two come together. Given that the name went on to become Lucifer, the same way most of the Forsaken names went on to become demons/monsters, it makes sense for it to be one name consisting of two words

take me with you

according to the wheel of time info book or whatever it is, his name is Lews Therin Telemon, so i always assumed therin was his middle name

Absolutely patrician reading of the story. Whitecloaks are the good guys of the story.

And me
Will they have a faithful LoTR adaptation there too?

>when good boy galad challenged that white cloak leader to a dual
i really want to re-read the books, but those last ones with sanderson are such a put off. im still mad at how he treated padan fain

>Rand chills at his campsite near a nice lil spring
>He wakes up freaked out about encountering one of his best friends in the dream world (which is actual reality) and almost killing him
>He has OCD now over not making stupid mistakes
>Hears horses approaching
>The leader, a trader lady, trots up and asks him if they can share the campsite
>He says no then immediately lightsabers her head off and murders her entire guard while they're screaming because he's a male channeler
>Surveys the situation
>Most of the horses have run away except for the one with the lady's headless body still gripping the reins and keeping it there
>He magically moves all of the bodies into a line to kneel to them, faces in the dirt
>Those who had faces left, that is

I’m a quarter through the gathering storm after starting the series in November. Definitely slowed down hard around book 8 or so, and the change in writing style is really apparent, but I’ve read from multiple people Sanderson doesn’t conclude fain’s story satisfyingly. Still, I’ll enjoy the ride, better than the show turned propaganda / diversity nonsense

I... I always assumed that the woman and her guards were of the Shadow, and that the one grey man with them was always part of their team. Rand even thinks how she is the most dangerous, which might mean she is Aes Sedai. Is that not it? Were they just random people?

its really worth finishing, but sandersons writing is vastly different then jordans, and it is very noticeable. i dont hate the guy, but i wish they would have found someone else to finish the WoT books

RJ apparently specifically stated to fans at a convention that yes, they were darkfriends. Whether or not he just did that to soothe his pussy audience and not have them turn against Rand, who knows, but they grey man being a part of it definitely supports his position

Oh zero chance I’m not finishing it, the writing styles not even bad but it’s surprising to see just how different it is from RJ’s

I’d finish the story solely for Matrim if I had to, but I’m dying for more Rand and the Asha’man too

It never ceases to amaze me how Robert Jordan could have all these uncanny insights about the female mind and yet couldn't tell his wife that all he ever wanted was to tie her up and spank her butt.

>get born into a role you don't really want
>be forced to relive it again forever
>get trapped in a prison
>get occasional home leave wherein you form destructive cults
>get reincarnated if you die in an Age where you're supposed to be free and do something
>decide to just end reality because you do not appreciate this form of existence
Did Ishamael do anything wrong?

and bounce her on his knee

Didn't the already make half the cast black?

I'm still just really wondering what the FUCK this guy was up to in Vietnam

asmodean got the real suckers deal. he just wanted to hang out and play his strumpet. i kind of wish he would have lived

got too high on sa'a
in the end it doesnt matter because he knows he is stuck in an infinity loop. suffering same shit again and again.

>RJ loved killing VC so much, he voluntered for an extra tour of duty mowing down farmers from a helicopter

gunning down gooks in a chopper, ample camaraderie with the squad, thoughts of fantasy

Attached: Robert Jordan 1969-70.jpg (1600x1067, 163K)

They filled it with niggers. Makes me laugh when people say white genocide isnt real

was he an incel? he had the incel look

>no kids
>wife wouldnt take his last name
>wife bullied him on his work
>lived in a fantasy world
he did write some kino conan, civial war and wheel of time though

Probably

killed a bunch of gooks

>all women in Randland—based on his wife. "Does she tug her hair?"
>"No. mine"

absolutely based

Please stop making shitty adaptations of books I read years ago. I'm not going to watch them.

>“You chose the wrong company,” Rand told that man
based Rand showing postmortem mercy to the gray man he didn't even know he'd murdered in his spontaneous killing and magical self-worship spree

Or alternatively, please start making faithful adaptations of books I read years ago, without the injection of identity politics, leftist values and diversity at the expense of quality / faithfulness to the source material. I’d like to watch them

That's funny, I don't remember making this post but it contains my thoughts precisely.

I want a hard rightist adaption of Locke Lamora with all the same care, just to teach lessons.

Early crazy Rand is a kino machine, pussy sadboi Rand was a slog to deal with.
Rand was great in the Waste up until he fell for redhead pussy, then it is all downhill.

Agreed, imagining him frantically climbing the stone of tear, near or at mad man status, after ditching his friends to fulfill his destiny was pure kino.

Fuck you nigger

The sad thing is that Jordan had a lot of interesting ideas and insight into gender conflicts, and actually explores both positive and negative sides in his writing. A faithful adaptation according to his own world views would unironically be a good thing, even for SJWs.

>maimed any musician better than him
I truly liked asmodean. severing his mom and giving her to myrddraal was pretty shitty but otherwise he was an okay guy.

i like to juxtapose Paden Fain's madness with that of early Rand, both driven and hunting, haunted and ravenous, trying to grasp their destiny.
Shit was cash, yo.

Yeah but not enough niggers in the first 3 episodes SO IT AINT WOKE ENOUGH HUN

Fucking hate Hollywood, social media, and leftists. So, soooooo much,

>hurr let’s change characters races, don’t complain their race has nothing to do with the story so we can do it!
time gap
>hurr let’s change these characters races, don’t complain even though their race is an important part of the initial story it’s not diverse enough sweety fuck drumpf

He was literally such a chad that he was dating two chicks at the same time at one point and they were both fine with it to the point of scheduling their dates together. He said he justified Rand having three lovers by thinking that if he can handle two, then surely the dragon reborn can handle three.

It took me like six rereads and twenty years to put together even the most basic king Arthur shit besides the sword in the Stone. Like nynaeve after marrying lan being titled the lady of the lake(s)

Therin is his original surname, but during the age of legends you could earn a third name if you were really good in your field or otherwise provided for your community etc. That's why some of the AoL characters have three names.

Guy shot an RPG out of midair

>produced no heirs
>allegedly poor editor but still in charge
>he agreed to manage his wife's son
so harriet must have been just a top-tier submissive to the point where it would be worth it, right? the nynaeve and lan relationship makes me think. i don't want to call him the c-word

You have excellent taste, sir.

>every comment about Avi mentions she has god tier legs, hips meant for breeding, and breasts meant for babies to suckle
>add all that to /fit/ green eyed tomboy redhead who is adorably tsundere and Rand only doesn't notice because he's a complete woolhead and even the Wise Ones almost admit that they want the two to just fuck already
It's like Jordan was custom-designing a perfect waifu

Can't make them worse than the last two ghost-written books.

based

1. Asha'man aren't pussies about their training. The White Tower babies their novices and loses knowledge to the point where every male and female Forsaken alike is utterly and completely contemptuous of them. The Age of Legends training level was basically the Black Tower dialled to 11, Moghedien says at one point that they would have beaten Nynaeve's block out of her by pure pain and force while the Tower's best effort is "get drunk" or "drop a bucket of ice water on her head". And Demandred thinks about how to learn to grasp and hold saidin without losing control over it or himself and maintaining the Void, he had to be dragged naked, behind a sled, over rocky ground, in the middle of a subzero blizzard.

2. Men gain strength by pushing harder and testing their limits.

3. Aes Sedai are fucking retards who sit on their asses and wait to see if people come to them, while Asha'man actually go out and look for recruits. When the Aes Sedai finally start doing this, bitching all the while, that start raking in scores of apprentices.

Tl;dr The White Tower are retards.

the virgin aes sedai vs chad asha'man meme is canonically true

Waiting 3 years after Winter's Heart just to get a book where literally nothing happens for 800 pages.

Lews is probably an AoL version of Louis or Lewis. Telamon is the third name which makes you prestigious and was coveted, some of the Forsaken actually turned because they didn't get a third name (Mesaana, Moghedien, sort of Lanfear although she was more about being a screeching yandere psycho ex of Lews Therin the chad of chads).

Rand gets fed up with Perrin's wife and just Superman punches Faile straight in the nose

We don't know a lot about Ishamael, and whether he reincarnates normally. Elan Morin was the Nae'blis this time around, but next time it might not be.

lmao

Everything that sucks could be trimmed down or in some cases removed without needing drastic plot changes. Some things drag on just so that characters end up finishing their stories at the same time so it's convenient for them to meet up at the end. Just don't show so much of those stories and focus on the aspects that are entertaining.

She even ends up having quadruplets

He's wrong though. Infinite repetition means infinite variation, across infinite possible worlds. And infinite possibilities for something amazing. It's the epiphany Rand comes to on Dragonmount.

Events have to occur in every Age in this iteration of the story and the Pattern makes sure it happens. Ishy should portal stone to a world of if where the events are suitable to his liking and kill the Ishy there and take his place, but the Pattern there would just fuck shit up for him too.

Nah, he's beyond that. He doesn't want a blowjob from four lanfears at the same time. He knows the devil's plan is to annihilate reality and goes for it since he remembers being Ishmael and fighting the dragon a million times as a badguy, goodguy, teamed up, for time without end and just wants a break. His idea of being nae blis is... Nothing.

Say he heads to a world of if on the fringes where the dark one doesn't give a shit about him in any age and he just hangs out as a regular dude in every single age, frying hotcakes, rustling horses, managing inns, accidentally hurting some people and hiding from law enforcement with his beautiful wife, constructing huts, discovering tools, becoming CEO of a multinational which fades into obscurity, buying groceries with food stamps, base jumping, becoming mayor of a large township, eating rats under a bridge, etc. Say he meets the other Ishy there and takes him to the main Randland world via portal stone and convinces him to stay there and take his place, and that world's Ishamael is tired of being underappreciated and craves power. Say that otherworldly Ishy dies. Would the DO bother to reincarnate its soul into Moridin or would it just wait for the feeb Ishy in the ifworld to die to yank it back to the proper reality? If they both died mundane deaths, would the Pattern spin the souls out into the reality iterations they died in or would it just be a cunt?

>Also, what about Verin?
Verin Sedai being Alpha Legion is one of the most underrated payoffs in the series.

their was a greyman

>"You chose the wrong company, shadowspawn faggot," Rand said as he spit upon the body. /I'm the Dragon Reborn, so this is right/ he thought as he unconsciously used the power to draw the Gray Man up, folded, to his torso, and proceeded to powerbomb him into the ruined remains of the head of the merchant.
- Dragons of Chaos, chapter 3 pg 56

It's good? The prologue really turn me off but since Sanderson did the last books and says is one of the best sagas...

10/10

If I understand it correctly, Ishmael is gonna be buttfucked for the rest of time. The do can do whatever, so even if he goes to randland #67832 to get the hell outta dodge, both ishmaels got their part to play. Can't swap threads in the pattern when you're the chosen one, basically

why always CHAOS? falcon of chaos, dragon of chaos, find a new word

My sister turned me on to the series and I got through the whole thing in six weeks, it's a hell of a ride. There are 10/10 moments but Jordan's Achilles heel is pacing, when it's slow it's hundreds of pages of nothing but when it picks up you'll get two chapters that literally change the world.

ishy doesnt have to go bad, thats the choice part, it just seems he often does

How is the series in terms of "combat"? Just read Riftwar Saga and shit this was so damn bad both Pug and Thomas are so overpowered that makes no sense of reading this and want to finish

Crossroads of Chaos is up next and you're not going to like it

i dont see why, ive liked them all so far, unimaginative titles aside

>If I understand it correctly, Ishmael is gonna be buttfucked for the rest of time
Maybe not, Ishamael doesn't die in MoL until after the dark one is sealed back up and Birgitte says repeatedly that very few people are tied to the pattern the way Rand is. There's always going to be an Elan but we don't know that Elan is always going to become an Ishamael.

jordan shines in combat, and wars, rands power battles with the forsaken are always great

wait until another dragonlord wakes up, tomas isnt as OP as you might think

There's always a counter to everything. Rand goes through an enormous power-creep but the more OP bullshit he does the more the Dark One is able to influence/break apart reality so it turns into a game of "just how far do you want to go?"

And why some of the forsaken were so buttmad they only had 2

You mean in the end of the third book?
Myabe i'ts a "me" problem and I can't immerse myself, shit happen also in the third Mistborn book and I really didn't like the war aspects of the books when the last 2 were very "small" battles on another hand I had no problem with Stormlight Archives.

Does the Power work at all on the Ogier home planet?

The Age of Legends was close to a utopia, they had forgotten war and were beyond money, so your social status was how you measured yourself.

>third book
huh? rand fights in every book

Thanks user! Was just trying to riff even though I regretted the Falcons of Chaos title

Sorry I pushed you all in one post when I wanted to mention only "wait until another dragonlord wakes up"

Then I agree with his plan

"Robert Jordan" (fake name btw) didnt know a thing about combat. he was some physics geek who decided to make money when his wife prodded him into it.

that wont happen for another few hundred years and other 10 or so depending

Robert Jordan, was a professor of history and a real life vet, he knew more abo7t war then you ever will

its called a Pen name faggot

Only the broad pattern for an Age is ever set. There is massive amounts of difference between Age iterations even assuming that anything survives more than maybe two Ages at most in memory. Based on the 3rd age recollection, the 1st age is so mythical that the 7th age prior is functionally lost.

More accurately, Elan Morin's soul goes into regular reincarnation without the Dark One to snatch it at the moment of death. With the Dark One sealed up again, he dies and reincarnates, possibly ten years down, possibly ten thousand years down, possibly ten million years down. There may well be a completely different Nae'blis the next time around. Only the Dark One or Creator could tell, or maybe Dragon-in-TAR instead of his spun out incarnation if he remembers that far back.

Nah, Rand does admit that the AoL wasn't perfect, and they may have come crashing down eventually anyway.

The One Power is everywhere in the Wheel. So one would assume so, yes.

Is there evidence for this? Not disputing, because I really don't know if it's true or not, but the idea of a self-healing self-weaving intelligent dictatorial loom and the word cycle (circle) always indicated to me that everything would occur again exactly the same.

What are stedding, what is the Longing of Randland Ogier, why don't Seanchan Ogier suffer from it, and why don't Ogier have access to the Power?

You can swap.

There have been prior Ages where the Dragon was turned, and was Nae'blis. Ishy wasn't Nae'blis in those iterations. The problem is that this locks the endgame into a stalemate, because the DO can only win if he faces and defeats the Dragon as Creator's Champion. If he turns the Dragon beforehand, it's a stalemate. The Pattern spins out somebody else from the hero-stable, possibly Artur Hawkwing or the Gambler or whoever, the confrontation happens, and around they go again, the Dragon soul is wiped and readied for the next appearance.

I dont know user, nobody knows and its driving me mad

he says he thinks DO ever turning the dragon to the shadow is a lie

That's why I said "close to a utopia." The fact that war was 'rediscovered' and the people geared up so quickly during the shadow wars shows that the potential for chaos was already there, the Dark One just quickened a process that was already underway.

Yeah. It's in the prologue to the first book, sometimes Ishmael is the good guy and rand is the badguy, team up, vice versa. But Ishmael doesn't get to escape, he's stuck to the pattern as much as Rand is it seems

Yes, it's mentioned in interviews. You only get broad strokes at best for an Age pattern, everything else is variable depending on the needs of the Pattern.

why does the dark one even have to be sealed up? can't the creator just talk nicely with him and come to an agreement? just a working agreement to manage important things, like at shadar logoth

It's never "exactly the same." The pattern has an infinite variation that repeats only in that it seeks balance, the Dark One is always trying to dominate the pattern and the pattern is always throwing out curveballs to fuck him over.

Hey there, thank you sincerely for the response. What interview in particular were you referring to? I'd like to read it just to explore this topic.

Go to bed Rebecca

I'm fascinated by the philosophy behind WoT but am not an expert, so any sort of concrete information is appreciated.

The Finn don't have access that we see either. Neither do Trollocs, and they exist in the Pattern as part of it.

Who knows. We do know the Ogier are not necessarily native to the Randland Earth, and that they have their own powers, abilities, and "connected magic" that interacts with the One Power, such as stedding. Tamyrlin might have known, or Ogier might be from the end of the Age before the Age of Legends.

There's a lot of odd shit that's not quite inside the regular system like that. Mashadar in Shadar Logoth, for example. Mordeth found it by going to the Finn and asking for a weapon, and Aginor recognised it as similar or related to an "ancient enemy" even by AoL standards.

>he dosent know these are all from the bible, and thats where tolkien got them from

There are multiple ter'angreals that show possible futures and real pasts as well as stones built for travel among the multiverse. There are worlds (realities) lost to the Dark One as well as souls cut free from individual weaves just like Rand's soul is specifically tied to this one
It's a constant ever evolving game across multiple realities and the third age in Randland is just the one we're getting to watch go down.

Are there female trollocs? Or are myrddraal the male/female and trollocs are the female/male? Imagine if Aginor had figured out how to breed channeler shadowspawn, never thought of that and it's kind of awesome. The fact that Ogier seem pretty normal and have male/female division but no access to the driving force of the universe is kind of fucked up, though. Maybe they're creatures, too? Kill all Finn

Outside of the other universes created by different decisions made, in the specific one the story takes place in, though? It varies over cycles?

My headcanon is Trolloc's are all hermaphrodites
>The fact that Ogier seem pretty normal and have male/female division but no access to the driving force of the universe is kind of fucked up, though
The source is just one way to manipulate reality. The Ogier have their songs which is biomancy and empathetic telepathy. They're part of the pattern, just not like the humans are.

'There are no beginnings...' Those alternate realities are reflections of Randlands timeline equally as much as Randland is a reflection of them. There's no "prime" weave, we're all just threads in the pattern which is part of the greater weave of the wheel.

Doesn't seem fair

>Or are myrddraal the male/female and trollocs are the female/male?
Myrddraal are trolloc offspring that emerged "accidentally" without Aginor specifically designing them at first. It was speculated that if the the human stock that was corrupted had the gene or whatever that makes you able to channel the shadowspan would end up being a myrddraal instead of a regular trolloc because the percentages seemed to correspond to those of normal humans vs. channelers.

the OP is stronger no doubt, but the ogier lands are OP proof and they can grow waygates at least

Arent XY accidental XX offspring?

Based on Verin's comments (some worlds are much less real than others, hence distance is messed up in them) and Aviendha's experience there is a prime Weave.

>tor.com/2015/09/02/is-time-travel-possible-in-the-wheel-of-time/

Check that link for some fairly detailed discussion of the "superstructure" of reality.

One thing we do know is that the Dark One is sealed in all worlds. If he is free in one world, he is free in all worlds, and he is not part of the Pattern. So by definition he is sealed and has always been sealed and stayed that way, ever since the Creator first bound him up and set the Dragon to kick his ass however many thousands or millions or billions or trillions or infinite times he has to.

Nah but you were.

Did they ever explain how people flew in the age of legends? I feel like they never figured it out

The dark one is in on it right? Like God asked him to go be a dick so people could have free will, right?

Nah he's just being played like a damn fiddle.

All we know is that he was imprisoned by the Creator at the beginning of the Wheel. So there was presumably a disagreement and his cage is not voluntary.

Such an awesome thread. Shame how the adaptation is going to be utter abomination.
Shadowfriends did this.

>Based on Verin's comments (some worlds are much less real than others, hence distance is messed up in them) and Aviendha's experience there is a prime Weave
It's relative to oneself. When using the travel stones Lanfear describes the lack of color and 'realness' as being worlds farther away from the possibility of your home weave. So it's not that those possibilities were less real, it's that they were less real in relation to Rand.
>Did they ever explain how people flew in the age of legends
>I feel like they never figured it out
They assumed you wove upon yourself but Demandred flies briefly in MoL by using air to push himself. I think because the people had forgotten about Air pressure and the physics behind lift they didn't know you needed a cushion of air to propell you.

>SHARANS could be here

someshta was an incredibly ancient ogier and the eye of the world was a pool he collected to try and access saidin over the ages out of jealousy

Planes, helicopters/sho-wings, spaceships. It was 99% a myth that the Aes Sedai took as fact without realising because they were too blindingly retarded to know better. If you're strong enough you can use air pressure to give yourself a good kick, but that's not really true flight per se, just jumping or more being catapulted around.

Someshta was a Nym, user. The Eye was a really big Well, like Nynaeve's belt or Cadsuane's ornament writ large.

nah the tree men are another thing altogether

with traveling you can go anywhere you want

Thought about the very same thing while reading the excerpt here:
It reads in the exact same deranged tone.

What the hell are you talking about? Someshta was a Nym and the Eye was a well created by 100 channelers (iirc) who filtered saidin through themselves and died in the process.

Not a hundred male channellers. Just two I think. You see them sorting it out at a meeting Rand sees via flashback in book 4.

Nah, it was hundred wot.fandom.com/wiki/Eye_of_the_World
Though I don't know whether that was a hundred in total or 100 + 100 male and female respectively.

The two last surviving members of Lews 100 companions, the male aes sedai who helped seal the bore 3000 years ago (and yes, they killed themselves to avoid tainting the well.)

I think you might be confusing them with the hundred companions

Yukiri weaves a cushion of air to save Bryne, Siuan, etc from falling in AMOL. She speculates that it could be the first step in learning to fly.

>Cenn Buie threatens to burn Moiraine out
is there a cringier moment in the series

That doesn't cite a specific source, and book 4 definitely shows the meeting where they sort out who does what and what goes where. There are only two men mentioned taking part, at all.

she's wrong

The books are too based for tv

Fuck Cadsuane

>The Green Man tells them that about how the Eye was created by male and female Aes Sedai working together, as all the greatest works of the Aes Sedai were made. They made it because of the breaking of the World, and they “died, all, to make it pure.”
I don't have the specific line at hand right now but Someshta tells this to them.

Gigantic cunt. Still a huge bitch for no reason even after Rand stops being a sad bitch

Never relax when you are around ta'veren.

Attached: Menace2EmondsField.jpg (1024x1024, 676K)

so definitely not the hundred companions since they were all male

Chapter 50 of TEOTW
Yeah, that's what I've been saying. Those were a different hundred.

Attached: eye of the world making.png (558x382, 153K)

...and what were the nym? "tree men"? try ogier who sung to trees until they could grow staffs then over millenia grew upset over not being able to access the one power. so they sang and sang, perfecting their craft until they entered an age of legends where they learned to sprout green things on their very body and command plants totally. no ogier wants to use the book of translation because the ogier home planet is just FULL OF TREES. that's what they are inside and if they go there they'll just burst into bloom and stand there and that's also why they can't use the power.

Egwene I could have swallowed but Nyn and Perrin are ugly as fuck on top of being a different race. Not to mention that Perrin is some skinnyfat lanky I'm so mad, fuck.

but ogier and nym exist simultaneously during the age of legends, you see them in one of the gateway flashbacks, I like your stupid theory but it just doesn't hold up

Fuck Yukiri.

The Nym were artificial constructs created in the AoL and infused with a human soul. It's literally all explained in the books, you don't have to make shit up.

Perrin is ok, its Nye FUUCCCCCK what the FUCK is that thing?

Nyn is "alright" in the broadest sense of the word with a straight hair instead of those fucking niggalocks. They still dropped the ball hard with her casting.

Attached: Zoë Robins.jpg (480x640, 74K)

thats marginally better, only by a tiny margin

Can't wait to watch her and moiraine march to the pit of doom with rand

hartha and loial exist simultaneously, but are pretty different. a really, really good treesinger, like michael jackson level, might be able to transform himself into something entirely different, something more akin to his own true form.

Her and Raisy Diddley could star in the new, all-female Alien vs Predator reboot.

false flag created to avoid hard truths about the nature of nym and ogier, but believe what you want sheeple

Are you Rafe by any chance? Because god DAMN you don't know shit about the books.

Egwene dies but Cadsuane becomes Amrylin? No, fuck you Robert, that's not a fair trade.

this is a stupid theory let it go we know where they came from

iirc, runaways were hunted down, beheaded, and had their heads placed on the Traitor's Tree. Many were burned out by "forcing", and the insane were poisoned. There are several examples of this specifically mentioned in the 3-4 books following the founding of the Black Tower.

that was fain and literal darkfriends fucking around, real whitecloaks didn't do that shit, unless ordered to by a commanding officer they are soldiers they do as ordered

Look anons, Tuon is black, Semirhage is black, the Sea Folk are a mix of black and dark indian while the Domani are brown. Why make Nynaeve and Perrin Black? You're telling me, that with the Two Rivers folk being described like high caste Indians or Persians you couldn't find some Bollywood actors to fill the bill? Fucking really?
No, fuck you (((Hollywood))), I'm off your wild ride.

fuck off faggot, your theory just doesn't have legs the subject is too well defined, if you wanted to shitpost some stupid theory you could've tried arguing AoL aes sedai could actually fly or something

Egwene should've become a new forsaken towards the end. It would've perfectly completed her character arc. She was always a megalomaniac bitch who did everything she did to gain more power for herself and the subservience of others. After Verin's reveal it would've been extremely plausible for her to try to pull a similar stunt but one up her by becoming a "double agent" forsaken, because she absolutely can't stand anyone being better than her. That would obviously lead to her biting more than she can chew and eventually getting way too deep in the shadow and either getting rekt by the other forsaken or having to swear to the shadow fully, while still being in denial about her little infiltration stunt being a failure.

>the Two Rivers folk being described like high caste Indians or Persians
They were meds at most. Whites with a farmer's tan and generally dark hair and eyes.

going full darkside and having say avi and elyane having to take her down would've been great

holy fuck that fan art

Attached: FILE19791.jpg (520x492, 141K)

I'm not saying I liked the bitch, but she was 10x closer to what the Aes Sedai were supposed to be than anybody else. Cadsuane is a pure, distilled version of everything wrong with them.

i have enjoyed funposting stupid obviously incorrect theories in these threads for a long time before the woke brigade arrived to shill for the amazon series, but whatever, i probably will just fuck off

the woke shills are getting annoying, but i'm still going to call out stupid shit if its stupid shit

Dark tan with black or brown hair and brown eyes. You could go Med or Persian, those two are only separated by a mountain range after all, but you don't go to the coal black dark heart of africa.

>tfw the show could have had so much subtlety and actual nuance but because anyone involved the production doesn't understand shit about the series we'll just get the absolute surface level understanding of the politics with some added modern day SJWisms
>the women will all be perfect and better than the men in everything
>the aes sedai are the good guys
>men are just woolheaded idiots who need the women to talk some sense into them at every crucial moment
>men will be blamed for the breaking and the fact that women refused to help them will be glossed over
and the one that annoys me the most
>the whitecloaks will be a blatantly obvious KKK stand-in who are also racist now for some reason
The "muh catholic inquisition / KKK" is such a low hanging fruit yet it's so fucking obvious that's all they see in them. Meanwhile Jordan mentioned several religious zealots as the inspiration including Al Qaida, which is funny because fucking ISIS would actually be the closest modern day equivalent to the whitecloaks.

thats completely incorrect, Cad was a rogue like moraine because she understood the aes sedai were fundamentally flawed, shes a perfect amyrlin, also consider she is REALLY old, so she'll fix the white tower and then die, it really is the perfect solution

not all questioners are dark friends

yea their is something really wrong with it, maybe its the crown of swords or something but it just seems wrong and weird

absurdity is a lost art. please review the posts i made and attempt to analyze whether or not i was being serious or how informed i was. some jokes are way better in deep context. we knew this in /wot/ once.

We can figure out the skin color based on the other characters around them. The scale from palest to darkest goes
>untanned / only somewhat tanned gingers (Rand)
>Two Rivers
>gingers who live in the desert (the rest of the Aiel where the sun hits them)
It was said that after spending a while in the Waste Egwene had tanned enough to almost pass for an Aiel herself.

enough were, like 70% or something

Shut the fuck up you self important faggot. I've been posting in these threads for longer than you and you're just being a massive retard high on your own farts at this point.

it looks far too real, like an actual image with a filter on it then someone just photoshop'd dragons in his arms, the crown and the statue

I knew that, but w/e I wasn't interested in perusing it, I prefer shit like how aielfinn are really shadowspawn from a previous age

woke brigade detected
that's cool

It could even play off today's politics perfectly if they wanted to. When men do shit solo you get the breaking, when women do shit solo you get elaida, when you work together, you cleanse saidin. Stop with the super bullshit and come together and do some good, instead of bitching on Instagram. But no, Rand's women are problematic wish fulfillment, so now moiraine is the main character

>but she was 10x closer to what the Aes Sedai were supposed to be than anybody else
Wrong. That would be Nynaeve. Egwene worshiped the idea of the aes sedai, the institution itself. Had she lived she would've just doubled down with all of the retarded ivory tower shit they had been doing for 3000 years because she just wanted to take over the institution, not reform it. Nynaeve was the one who was always calling out their shit and told them to fuck off if they tried to prevent her from helping people. Egwene just wanted the status that being an aes sedai would give, she didn't give a shit about actually helping people.

They could get away with race changing literally any chracters except for the Two Rivers folk and the Aiel. It doesn't make sense to change them.

thats it, the face looks like a photo shopped into a painting, so fucking weird

>she understood the aes sedai were fundamentally flawed
False, her complaint with the other Aes Sedai is always that they arn't competent, not that she disagrees with their approach. Cadsuane was originally from Far Madding, the most misandrist society on the continent, and such a sexist she never fucked one of her warders despite being a green because she wanted to keep the power dynamic.
I'll say it again, Cadsuane is everything wrong with modern Aes Sedai.

Rand being shirtless for some reason makes it weird.

The "woke bridage" is on reddit where you came from. Try lurking more before pretending you have actually been posting here for a long time.

f you had to live at the tower as say a warder or sevant or tower guard or w/e the fuck, would you prefer Eliada? Egwene? or Cad?

For me, it's Nynaeve.

she completely disagrees with their approach her first scene is her shitting on the aes sedai for the complete mess they made of their relationship with the Dragon

>Egwene just wanted the status that being an aes sedai would give, she didn't give a shit about actually helping people
Eh, Egwene bought the Aes Sedai's bullshit. It's not that she didn't care about helping people, it's that she was blind to the fundamental hypocrisy of putting the good of an institution meant to help people above the people in need of help.

I just hope they get the bust sizes correct

at least she recognized their was a major problem and tried a new approach it wasn't a total success but she did better then the rest, except moraine of course

Egwene, she fucked Gwayne.
Fuck Egwene, Marry Siuan, kill Eladia

Cads won't have long to live. If Nyn doesn't swear the oaths she will live to something like fucking 700, she has plenty of time to become the Amyrlin in the future.

She failed because she couldn't accept Rand as an equal the way Morriane could. And that's my point, she couldn't get past her own anti-male prejudice.

Nah I think it's gonna be whitecloaks, can't have a woman portrayed bad on tv. Not sure how they're going to do elaida, if it gets that far, since her and basically every white tower aes sedai are gigantic strawmen made to make egwene look good. Like they're so retarded I don't understand how they can even dress themselves in the morning

Do you think they'll show Therava breaking Galina down into her submissive Little 'Lina?

Better thread here. It lets us natural Yea Forums users complain about the casting of the Amazon show obnoxiously to the point where normal readers will have sympathy for the show producers and root for it!

Haha can you imagine?

It's funny to me Warrior Hippy Rand BTFO more people in a shorter time than edgy asshole Rand did.

t. assmad amazon shill

Yeah but edgy Rand gave us nuking Natrin's Barrow.

Honestly I was 2/3rds through the slog before I realized what kind of a relationship Jordan was alluding to. And upon a re-read it's obvious.

>admiring sanderson rand in death throes of thread
yeah, i'm thinking you're shills

Hippy Rand gave us maradon though
Book thirteen was him just going on his farewell tour btfoing people and hanging out, single handedly murdering an army, all that

I don't know for sure but I feel like a lot of 13 and fourteen was already finished. At least the Rand and Perrin parts, depending on the chapter you can almost see which sentence Sanderson takes over

for some reason near the end of a thread you always get these sanderson fags

its most obvious with Mat, you can clearly see the parts Jordan wrote

They were people who enjoyed an advantage and mistook the gains from that advantage for their own skill. They weren't strawmen, they were women who could channel. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah. Even with Rand, maradon is clearly Sanderson, but almost everything in the last battle feels like Jordan

12, 13 and 14 were originally one big ass book Robert wrote to end the series. Harriet brought in Sanders who edited the material and wrote in connecting chapters to tie the whole thing together. The controversy over the ending is the lack of any kind of closure to a bunch of different characters, most notably no reconciliation between the three Ta'veren.
