What are some essential Yea Forums-core documentaries?
its interesting but all over the place. it lacks focus and wastes a lot of time
not really. Its focus is to show the incompetence of african workers
I used to love this doc but I haven't watched it in a while so I don't know if it's aged well. It's a weird combination of a sports and drug violence.

Africa will become one big farm and mine for China in our lifetimes.
>But what about the Africans?
A very deadly and fast-spreading plague will devastate the African population. Weirdly, it will only be extremely fatal to blacks. Non-blacks are found to have a natural immunity. China will graciously provide aid in the form of a miracle cure, but tragically, the cure will be developed too late to save 90% of Africa's population.
any doc herzog is attached to
It's funny, I went to Tanzania and was already seeing Chinese influence. I spoke to a Congolese gentleman in the US and he said he resented the Chinese but was happy that they're building infrastructure. Second wave of imperialism will not be as kino
10/10 documentary. Honest and very interesting. Youtube took it down because it was too honest for them.
Where can I watch this?
Even Hearts of Darkness doesn't top this insanity.
peak despair-core
The Bridge
Its on youtube.
related to this doc is the ambassador. should be required viewing.
>It lacks focus and wastes a lot of time
So it's a perfect allegory of niggerhood.

That whole sequence is honestly kino
Just because the movie has
> le funny chinese banter man
doesn't mean it's a great comedy. There's several factors at work the filmmaker didn't really explore much, instead there's a bunch of timewasting montages and they didn't seem like they could decide on a more sustantial topic besides
> le culture clash in Chinese and African work ethic
and still not explore that topic in-depth. It got some great quotes and it's an interesting situation, but the documentary itself is not particularly well made.
One of the best narrators

Seen this multiple times. The editing is top-notch
The Runaway Scene. Holy fuck.
Phil Fish did literally nothing wrong.
any mega links for this?
That king of fall kills a guy? Call me retarded it doesn't look like it can.
some psychics shit, newtons third law or something
plus even if the impact doesn't kill you, you're left with a broken body and you drown
[melancholy music playing]
>any mega links for this?
Gimme a few minutes user
Has anyone seen this docu? Is it any good?
All I know is that it has an amazing soundtrack
I've been meaning to watch this. Seems like such a shitty way to commit suicide, I imagine a handful of people survive this shit and have to live with a broken body.
OJ Made in America isn't just one of the best docs of all time it's one of the finest pieces of film making I've ever seen
It's back!
Aguirre and Fitzcarraldo are pre-requisite viewing. The documentary and making-of are even better than the films.
Some probably survive the impact but unless someone rescues them immediately they'd just drown.
Eddy and Lao need there own show.
there's a reason why divers always enter the water with their body pointed into it; surface tension becomes a bitch at high velocities, and even if it doesn't kill you at first, it's hard to swim when your bones are broken
>any mega links for this?
Here you go user
If there's a better version available, I'm sure someone will call me a faggot instead of posting it themselves

Anyone else seen this?
watch everything Adam Curtis has done NOW
I never see anyone talk about this. This documentary was a turning point in many ways for me personally.
>I never see anyone talk about this.
cause it's really not that great. interesting concept but too long and boring. the only reason it got so much attention was because herzog and errol morris were shilling the shit out of it.
need to watch it again soon
it's a crazy documentary when you stop and really think about it. Is there anything else like it?
i cri evrytiem
O feel like you watched the extended cut. The theatrical is really well over I thought, sure a couple of slow moments, but I can't think of a documentary that got this intensely close with this subject material, not to mention the unique approach. And when you put Indonesia in the context of the world itself, it becomes almost a necessary documentary.
Lol, no. It just couldn't avoid the elephant in the room.
Greatest Story Never Told
Unsuprising really
Everyone learned from the fuck-ups that the Europeans and Africans made it seems
>O feel like you watched the extended cut.
nah. i was so pumped for it that i saw it in the theater. i think the problem is that it makes its point early on and just keeps going. i'll watch long and boring shit if there's a payoff at the end but for me this film is backwards in that way. like early payoff and then long and boring and nothing ending. maybe i'll revisit it soon though cause i saw it whenever it came out and have since basically forgot about it.
Best comedy of 2011
Crumb
American Movie
This 100%
>Herzog doc about guy getting eaten by a bear
>Tickle
>one about jodorowsky's dune
I've already seen it so I won't be downloading but you are a good man and a valuable asset to the board. Fair play.

this is one of those docs that i didnt want to see cause it just looked retarded. it's a fucking masterpiece though.
Is this the one Sam Hyde talked to Melonfaggot about during their interview?
best one other than grey gardens and
>installing a net so that people are only horribly mangled for life instead of getting a quick death
What did they mean by this?
>Crumb
I actually found his brother Charles extremely likeable.
Yeah, one of the funniest docs I've seen. I wonder what happened to the dude, meant to look it up.
It's certainly an interesting story. I don't think he's really likeable, but I have a lot of sympathy. His parents were fucked.
This was good, especially the part with the guy who jumped and survived. Also watch Boy Interrupted if you're looking for something similar.
>I wonder what happened to the dude, meant to look it up.
seems like both dudes are still doing the same shit according to some recent reddit thread on it. fucking hell when the fat one shows up to thanksgiving dinner grinning but not wanting to say why it's fucking perfect.

Made me check.

The chink was a bigger subhuman than Eddy, desu.
The Great Happiness Space: Tale of an Osaka Love Thief
Africa Addio, blackpilled as fuck. Imagine Empire of Dust, except with rape, machetes and the first post WW2 genocide (not Rwanda)
>like early payoff and then long and boring and nothing ending
the ending is amazing
the main gangster communist killer back on the roof where he did so many killings, having throughout the documentary slowly been introduced to the idea that the people he killed were human beings not simply "communists", and his realisation at what he'd really done
