Watched a documentary on this the other day. Apparently everyone on set loved aykroyd, and enjoyed working with him. Chevy chase and the studio on the other hand were a nightmare and the film could have actually been a classic had they not interfered.

The scientific method is the only counter to appeal to authority there is.

Having people sum up the state of the research isn't an appeal to authority. The problem is you rarely hear this preamble on clear cut issues. It's always on muddy data shit like diet.

This is funny too because as gullible Joe is, he's trying to be skeptical and refer to science. Only he has no foundation to judge anything, so a crackpot and a top tier researcher all gets blended together as "science shows X".

First of all, the conclusion you make in regards to scientific data is subjective. Your interpretation of the data can be wrong..
Secondly, google "replication crisis", a significant fraction of all scientific studies cannot be replicated. In the Wikipedia page under "replication crisis" there are a lot of well known experiments that scientist cannot replicate with that effect e.g. The Dunning Kruger effect, if you replicate the exact same experiment, you would not be able to find this "effect".

So the idea that you people blindly accepts all and any claim that is made by a guy that invokes "peer reviewed studies have showed".. reveals how much of a brainlet you guys are.. Seriously, take an online IQ test, and then when the 105 score pops up, reflect on that score and realize that you are a moron..
