The second one was okay albeit trying to do too much.

I unironically want Jack Sparrow as the lead villain. Instead of "Villain is some asshole with a curse that Jack Sparrow fucked over one time" flip it and make Jack Sparrow someone who got cursed and tries to fuck over Will and senpai (as he's known to do) and perhaps shine a slightly tragic look on the character. Something like a Jack Sparrow Unforgiven except from the perspective of the other characters.

I agree with too though. It feels like being on a ship is a nuisance to the writers but it takes away a lot of the charm the franchise had.

I want to like 4. There were some genuinely good moments in it but every time I think back to it I can only see them walking through that jungle with the glass aquarium and that stupid preacher just being the worst character in the movie.

I watch the pirates movies everytime they're on tv but for the life of me I can't remember the plot for any of them
I remember completely disliking the one where the ship turns upside down and they're submerged to go to another world or something
the others were nice, they mostly had that rare balance between harmless humor and creepiness/horror/death that was so prevalent in 90s children media

1 has a stupid stupid and contrived plot and retard main characters. Cant understand how people like it so much.
2 and 5 have the most original, daring action sequences I have seen in a long time
3 and 4 are just overbloat in every sense

4 has its flaws but it was basically a buddy cop movie with Jack and Barbossa and I enjoyed that aspect of it. And it remains way better than 5 which was just complete crap that not only ruined Barbossa's character but then had the audacity to kill him off, which has no impact considering he already died and came back once before. And I just know that despite that they're not going to bring him back for 6 because they want to be like see, the death means something, so 6 is gonna be without the best character. And the worst thing is Geoffrey Rush has never played another character like this so I can't even watch something else from his filmography and pretend it's Barbossa.

1 is distinctly different from 2 and 3, but I think they're all great. 2 and 3 really ramp up the energy and go totally over the top, especially in 3, and I think it works. I can't really do a hard separation between 2 and 3, they were filmed together and are essentially two parts of the same thing.
4 was extremely forgettable and somehow managed to lose all the charm the previous films had, despite having the ingredients. I thought 5 was a trashfire of a movie and has almost no redeeming elements whatsoever. I don't really get how you can like it so much
The series nosedived as soon as Verbinski left, and I don't think it's ever going to recover, I have no hopes at all for any sequels. Not that I really give a shit at all. The first 3 are still fun movies

The movies have made less and less money each time, I sincerely doubt they will make a whole lot more. The best idea would be to make 6 a conclusive ending to the franchise and then be done, while it's still turning a profit.

Jack Sparrow doesn't grow as a character throughout the movies. In the first 3 movies he seems like an idiot that is ahead of everyone. They dumbed down him even more after that; he becomes a real idiot, a buffoon. Making him the main focus is a mistake; he is supposed to be the comic relief character.

One of the biggest problems with 5 was that it was a lazy, inferior retread of one and you're asking for 6 to be the same but with 3.

He doesn't need to be redeemed. Just address whatever the hell they were going for with the post credits scene in 5, then finish the series. I know I criticized retreads so don't get me wrong, I hate that they brought Davy Jones back, but they can't just do that and then not address it. Who knows, maybe he mellowed out now that he doesn't have to ferry souls, and that's why he didn't attack Will. Maybe he was just checking he was there because he needs his help to fight the true threat.

This, I wish they would divorce the franchise from Jack Sparrow and just make it a fantasy action pirate genre of films, possibly standalone connected only by name and maybe setting. I'd go and see that in theaters, I stopped seeing them when it was just same characters film after film, and got bogged down in its own setting.
