I saw this movie at TIFF this week. I wouldn’t say that it’s a bad movie, but it isn’t very good either. Joaquin Phoenix is utterly committed to the role and you buy him as mentally unstable. The script never gives him very much to do, though. I think the movie is worth seeing, especially if you are already interested, but go in with an open mind. Hey, you might even like it.
