>Who would you cast as Tomie?
Megan Fox ten years ago.
>Would you make it a film or minisseries?
Ito never works as a film so I'd give miniseries a try.
>Who would you choose as director/showrunner?
Jennifer Kent (The Babadook, The Nightingale), Julia Docourau (Raw) and have Gaspar Noe direct the pilot.

Am I allowed to edit the endings?

No.

Yes.

OP here, no.

>tomie
Moner
>film or miniseries
mini
>director
the dude who directed The Conjuring and insidious or 80s John Carpenter

actually, I like to switch Moner with the chick from the tom cruise mummy

>Could it be done with practical effects?

>Tomie: Angelina Jolie twenty-five years ago or Madchen Amick thirty years ago
>Minisseries
>David Lynch
>Stories: The little boy one, The adopted daughter one, the one with the fanclub

She was already cast in japanese feels you faggot.

>Megan Fox ten years ago.
Too bro-y / American hot

>Moner
Too 'hot' and extroverted, Tomie is more of a quiet kind of beauty, not as 'spicy' as Moner.

A more fitting match for the role would be Mackenzie Foy or something.

Ayami Nakajo

Like, Tomie has that slightly goth-ish quiet girl (but beautiful) thing about her. Almost kind of bookish too.

This is a very, very good choice tho.

>Who would you cast as Tomie?
Ayy lmao girl from The Witch

>Would you make it a film or minisseries?
film

>Who would you choose as director/showrunner?
Terry Gilliam or Lynch

>Ayy lmao girl from The Witch

Also a very good choice.

Random cute nip idol
A film by kiyoshi kurosawa

>Who would you cast as Tomie?
Isabela Moaner
>Would you make it a film or minisseries?
Mini-series for Netflix so you can take your time with the story and not worry about censorship.
>Who would you choose as director/showrunner?
David Cronenberg

!!!FACT!!!

That "Like" was unecessary. Try working on it from now on.

It's something I try to edit out, but living where I have made it a habit that happens sometimes without realizing it. I also have a vocal fry and literally say 'myyaan'. It just comes out!

It doesnt matter if it is unnecessary

And I mean pronounced like MEEYAANN. Like that hippie girl did in the car in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

I remember becoming more aware of it and finding it cute that my girlfriend would say myyan and then realizing I do it too.

fuck is myyan?

There is only one Tomie story and it's not in the manga

Don't Japanese like to make animes based on Manga? Even they don't dare to touch Tomie because they know they can't meet the expectation.

"Man", said with a hippie-ish, California vocal fry. Tommy Chong does it. "Hyey myyaan."

If someone annoys me for instance I'll sometimes blurt "what the FUCK, MYAAN?!" It's ridiculous. But even more ridiculous is I'll literally write as I speak, in that lazy, casual California vocal fry, with lots of 'likes' peppered in, mixed with brainy arty stuff because I am well educated too, but the art school I went to everyone spoke in a hybrid of high-level art / academic-speak with a lazy vocal fry so it didn't really help it.

Who is that on the right?

Interesting but

Jennifer Connelly in Japanese ad

The manga requires a skinny woman but you know that's not a requirement but just how Ito drew everyone

>make Americans say Japanese name
Better simply adapt her into an American girl because Americans will never read it right

Should call her Tomboy

Just one of her friends or acquaintances. It's just some rare older picture.

I seriously can't read this because of how scared I am. Already had nightmares. Left on Ch5. Gonna drop it.

My wife Nana Komatsu

Attached: images (1).jpg (300x382, 13K)

Connelly is amazing obviously, but her demeanor is too sweet and bright to be Tomie. Although Ayyfu has a sweet, bright demeanor too, but she can do the weird dark horror girl thing. Or the brooding goth girl. Pic related.

the thumbnail fooled me into thinking it was a colored drawing of tomie fanart, I was still impressed when I saw the full res.

Damn wish we had a name. Thanks tho

One thing you can say is Japanese girls are really good for that cold / scary horror girl / ghost girl thing. Like a big chunk of J-horror is based in evil ghostly girls. They have the perfect look for it.

Nana is such a cute name.

Um, I think you mean HIS wife.

>I also have a vocal fry and literally say 'myyaan'
lol
I see. These things happen. We all have some sort of speech/writing vice. At least you're aware of it and didn't take my comment on the "like" as an offense or anything. Cheers, man. Have a nice day.

I finished it the other day keep going pussy. Mosquito is the best chapter

a miniseries would make a lot more sense, considering the manga consists of many short stories

>Who would you cast as Tomie?
Jennifer Connelly when she was cutie teenager
>Would you make it a film or minisseries?
minisseries
>Who would you choose as director/showrunner?
Kojima

Ironically enough, I binged it one night and had nightmares with holes.

I don't know it's just because we aren't familiar with their look

Hi, zombies.

Junji Ito? More like Junji Shito

I actually don't remember any Tomie stories...
So there is the mountain climber being eaten alive by naked T
Guy saw T growing like mushrooms on a carpet soaked with T blood
An old guy put T in concrete block and wait years to see T get old
A guy somehow resisted T because he loved his gf (I remember this one is more complicated and actually let T say something)
T got ground into ground beef and added into wine
Two T ordered a guy to kill each other. T looked like idiots in that.

Oh and this one. A nanny took care of a baby whose heart was infected with T cells and the nanny fell in love with the heart. That's the only time I remember it's a woman who loved T.
But in movies you always see they added lesbians around T

I like him but i understand why some people give him low rating

this is an Ito manga user, there are no endings

if you're on chapter 5 you already passed all the parts that are actually scary, after that it's nothing but gross out monsters of the week

yep, Nakajo is a gorgeous model and actress

absolutely based pick

Ami tomite

she's got the perfect kind of creepy for it

Attached: nakajo.jpg (2304x1536, 2.37M)

>esse nome

You get a feeling that she must have dark straight long hair
Not blonde curly hair

who was in the wrong here?

I second Cronenberg. His expertise with body horror would be perfect. But personally, if there was some blend between Cronenberg and Lynch, that'd be what I'd go for given the surreal quality of the story itself.

This movie was funny

She's not supposed to be creepy, she's supposed to be terrifyingly beautiful

Brie Larson is the perfect fit. She already has a mole under her left eye AND she's quite adept at driving men insane with lust.

Attached: 1538341868897.jpg (426x640, 46K)

is any of the adaptations worth watching?

The actor is supposed to be a pretty
The character should be a cold hearted bitch
She should be domineering and smiling all the time and be lazy and picky
And she should keep smiling when men dismember her alive (actually she always stops smiling in the manga but that's how I think she should do)

I saw Only the first movie

>Who would you cast as Tomie?
the chick from user

Which of Ito's works would be transferred the most easily to live-action

the one with the incel boy mc

Army of One probably, it relies the least on imagery that would need really amazing practical effects or mountains of CGI to show
it fucking sucks though

Ramina the evil stat

too ugly

the visuals of all the people stitched together is the best part.
but I agree that it could still be made and work out well

The one with guy living inside a chair

Aubrey Plaza maybe?

the movie was better

How is this the only post acknowledging the fact that there are ALREADY Tomie movies?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomie_(film_series)
There are nine of them, you bunch of weirdos. Plus a shitty Uzumaki movie.

I want a Tomie romance story where she meets someone who is immune to her mind control and they teach her to be normal over a period of time. Then when she finally begins to act like a different person entirely she gets killed by another Tomie since the clones all act independently.

of all the Ito manga I've read, it has the easiest effects to do competently. Stuff like Gyo, Uzumaki and Hellstar Remina would all end up as CGI abominations. Tomie could get a good adaptation if you skipped all the chapters with scenes like that would look like shit without good effects

There is no such thing as a scary girl.

I'm a pussy when it comes to horror, but im 13 chapters deep into this and I honestly feel nothing, grossed out a little, but I've yet to feel fear or anxiety reading this, masquito and snail where great through.

I read the whole thing and the only parts that are actually scary are Shuichi's parents going insane in the first 2 chapters, and then a few sequences in the hospital chapters. Everything else is Lovecraft tier 'WHOA LOOK AT THIS WACKY THING, ISN'T IT ELDRITCH AND INCOMPREHENSIBLE" bullshit

read it in one day, it stops being scary later on and just becomes kind of funny. the last spooky thing is the couple in the rundown shack, after that it is mostly goofy. loved it though
