hes right you know

It is a horribly tired trope, especially in video games. Having a hard time thinking of any that dont involve saving the world at least.

I mean even fucking Prey, and that takes place on an isolated space station.

Prey(not the recent reboot) has you saving your girlfriend which is fine

The problem with the universe being at stake is that there's no intimacy to the stakes, it's totally impersonal. You're expected to care... because you live in the universe? It's such a lazy catch-all.

Remember when most people would laugh at ridiculousness and tackiness of this?

Today it's considered to be a legitimate criticism.

....My mother lives in Hackensack

100% right that's why Batman alone is better than all Marvel, even his villain's movies win Golden Lions now

No, I don’t remember that, but the whole “we have to save the world/universe” cliche is played out and uninteresting. Smaller stakes that are personal concerning characters the audience cares about are vastly more interesting.

i'm doing a mcu run and it gets really really boring seeing the same shit over and over again

that's the main thing he got from that? that his biggest gripe?

Im more concerned with why the villian wants to destroy the universe then that the heroes have to save the universe.

Still, its nice to see pretentious asses bringing back golden oldies again.

who needs a house out in hackensack, is that all you get for your money?

This is why I like both Ant-Man films the best out of the MCU shit while retards go "but there are no stakes in them"

Wow, that nigger is quite racist, ain't he.

yawn

>my mother lives in Hackensack
>*lex shakes his head*

But there are only 2 MCU films where the whole universe is threatened, Infinity War and Thor 2

Nigger can’t drive with a broken back

Is her name.. Martha?

i thought i was the only one who heard that

IS THAT ALL YOU GET FOR YOUR CUNNY

Technically it was only HALF the universe at stake.

cringe, not cool
