My mom and my stepdad used to watch this show together. They'd always say the new episode of Supernatural was coming on and I'd just hang out in my room because I thought that sounded dumb. Then one day I sat down with them to watch I Believe the Children Are Our Future and when Changing Channels aired I got hooked. I remember sitting there and speculating with them about Sam being out of the cage and getting pissed when they killed off Bobby back in 7 (they would end up dropping the series shortly after). I've been saying they should end the show for a while now but now that it's happening I'm fucked up. Can't even listen to Kansas without getting emotional. I fucking love this series and even during the bad seasons, the characters and their snarky dialogue keep me invested. Shit's gonna be so sad, bros. This show has been with me since my senior year of high school and it's really coming to a close. I'm going to miss posting with you guys and I'm going to miss Sam and Dean.

Season 5 is the common stopping point. Season 11 could also have been another good stopping point. But they’ve got turbo overdrive into the rabbit hole and 12-15 tell a stronger story than 8-9 did leading to 10 so they are geared up for a decent ending with 15. I dropped it at 9. Absolute shitshow of a season except for Cain and Abaddon

It’s a show about heaven and hell and demons and ghosts and gods. I’d be surprised if they don’t go camp every now and then. In fact, I’d be disappointed if they didn’t have to deal with world ending plots. Supernatural found a niche and aired at a time when all its predecessors finished or went on hiatus. And during that time it cultivated that niche and established its identity so much so that new shows couldn’t supplant its cult status. Supernatural remains to have the best angelic lore and representation in TV to date for example
