16, watched it with the youth group i was going to during the time. Youth pastor was angry that a few of us weren't crying during it. I was only going to feel up another girl there.
I WAS FOURTEEN YEARS OF AGE WHEN I WATCHED: «THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST» FOR THE FIRST TIME; I HAVE BEEN WATCHING IT EVERY CHRISTMAS FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS.
Imagine the immense faggot this dude is in real life.
Storyboards of the Crucifixion
i was 7 and i couldn't finish watching it because i started crying because they were mean to jesus
Viva Cristo Rey
>they
that's a funny way of spelling "the Jews"
I was 20. I thought it was a good film.
>"His blood be on our heads and on the heads of our children!"
What did Mel mean by this?
I’m 39 and I have yet to watch it
It's like if Nikolai Ge and Caravaggio made a film together
w-what are they going to do about the hole user
I never saw it and I often forget it’s why there’s so much anti-jew sentiment these days.
I was 14, and I thought it was a Comedy based on the ridiculous demon kids "tormenting Judas" scene.
never watched this movie and never will, i don't feel like getting literally preached at for three hours
Look at sweetheart
Reminder crucifixion was a pretty standard punishment in Rome.

It was nice
Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying, "Are you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us."
40 The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply, "Have you no fear of God, for you are subject to the same condemnation? 41 And indeed, we have been condemned justly, for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes, but this man has done nothing criminal." 42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." 43 He replied to him, "Amen I say to you today you will be with me in Paradise."
in the bible in the Gospel of Matthew
And they were nailed naked. It was the ultimate humiliation
>Nikolai Ge
>None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1 Corinthians 2:8
when the blood pools around the lower part of the body, victims would experience large erections and evacuate their bowels, attracting flies and carrion to their already decaying bodies

>For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength” (1 Corinthians 1: 22-25)
I ignored it for some time after its release, probably didnt see it until 2015 or so
12. Had to watch JUST the crucifixion at a youth retreat and I never wanted to go back after that bloodbath

>"The mention of the Lord's cross offends you, Nestorius. It always offended the Jews as well. You shudder at hearing that God suffered. The Gentiles in their error mocked at this also. I ask you then, in what point do you differ from them, since you both agree in this offense? But for my part I not only do not water down this preaching of the holy cross, this preaching of the Lord's passion, but as far as my wishes and powers go I emphasize it. For I will declare that He who was crucified is not only the power and wisdom of God, than which there is nothing greater, but actually Lord of absolute divinity and glory.
Didn't they draw lots for his clothes after the crucifixion?

I have no problem with Christian cinema, but Passion is utter shit-tier torture-porn.
Last Temptation of Christ is the patrician's choice.
wow very uncool solution to an easily solvable problem, just drill a new hole faggots
The movie should have opened with Christ riding on a donkey into Jerusalem
Yes, to fulfill an age old prophecy written hundreds of years before
>sir how about we use the nail to...i dont know...nail a new hole
im almost 28 and never watched it
would have been sweet yes
They took his clothes. The usual depiction is that they're wearing something over their crotch area but they're naked when they're put on the cross
yeah let me just get my powerdrill, bro.
Seriously drilling into wood would've stalled the execution and Romans were all about efficiency. The nails and the crosses were reused so driving a nail into the hard wood without a hole in it would've damaged the nail.
a powerful film, I can't watch it
Mel Gibson has a talent, and a creative audacity that has long ago atrophied in contemporary hollywood
with Ecstasy of Gold playing
sucking on a piece of straw, squinting at all the jews
Think I was 17 or 18.
Tbh I've kinda blocked those two years from my memory due to how shitty they were.
>Romans were all about efficiency
>ey we need to kill this dude, let's nail him to a piece of wood and then hang that from another piece of wood and then just wait around until they eventually die
Based boomer
I meant never go back to youth. I'm still a believer, attend church, etc. As a kid I just didn't want to go back to that youth group
but christmas is when jesus was born
you should be watching it on easter
Imagine being this much of a brainlet. The punishment was torture, which led to death. it was an example of those who went against the Roman Empire. It's why the jews wanted Pilate to try him instead of Herod.
21. Bad movie. Any religious or theological message it might have conveyed is drowned out by the over the top violence that Gibson gets off on. Its torture porn for Christians
Where did you find these?
>but christmas is when jesus was born
I AM AWARE OF THAT.
>you should be watching it on easter
I HAVE NEVER FELT ESPECIALLY PIOUS DURING SPRINGTIME, IN THE SAME MANNER THAT I NEVER FEEL LIKE WATCHING A «MOVIE» IN THE MORNING, OR READING A BOOK IN SUNLIGHT, OUTSIDE, OR ANAEROBICALLY EXERTING MY BODY TO EXHAUSTION FIRST THING AFTER WAKING UP.
Like 10, watched it in the cinema with my entire family (spic), I remember my mom cried a lot.
I was sneed
Not really, it was reserved for the worst crimes
Like being an annoying Jew
>1. See Mother, I Make All Things New
I don’t think Mel will ever top this
Beautiful
He between when Jesus comes back to life and says this very line to Mary and his disciples
The sequel is the only hollywood movie I'm looking forward to.
Finally saw it just a couple of years ago at 25. The whipping seemed to have gone on forever and was excessive.
I saw it theaters when it came out in 2004.
So I was like 17-18
The first time I watched it my TV was broken so all the blood was green and skin was really dark as if it was a shadow. also anything tan was pretty green as well. it was a pretty cool movie I guess idk
That movie sucked. The real ones love this.
the romans, you mean
Nigga you were watching Shrek.
22
haha ogre swamp
Cried like a bitch during this part. The "forgive them, they know not what they do." broke me.
25.
Watched it with a church group. Too tier kino i mean it looks amazing the score the brutality the pacing its a well made movie.
>be 15
>watch Passion of the Christ for the first time
>go on wikipedia to read about the movie
>mfw Jesus Christ is real and he actually died for our sins
>Passion of the Christ
I was 9 at my cousins church at a congregation wide viewing. Cemented my hatred for the zealots of the Church.
God that movie is the quintessential Jesus flick.
Starts way back and makes all the politics of 2000 years ago like betrothing 16 year old girls, the invasion and political discourse of Roman and Jewish peoples, the humanization of both parties (Jews and Romans, Christians and Jews), the music, the cast, the high budget, etc...
Remember me, when you enter your kingdom.
