too lazy (unironically). when the urskek divided, skeksis took with them impulse, action, self-determination, etc. also, mystics don't want to die either, and don't really care about thra (the urskeks never cared about thra, they aren't even from thra, so the idea that one half would suddenly start to care about thra after split is nonsense); they help gelfling insofar as it will lead to reunification, which is something they do want (skeksis don't). it's not just a simple good/evil split.

Way to miss the point. The Mystics are gentle, caring, respectful of nature and natural harmonies in music etc. They are absolutely good to the "evil" Skeksis. There's no reason they wouldn't care about this world just because they are not originally from it.
